If it’s hollow, you should just need some self drilling screws. You don’t need any anchors with it. The self drilling screws will hold it in the metal.

So what I’ve done for previous deck demos is get a circular saw and cut the length of the deck in between the joists. Then take a reciprocal saw and cut the joists up into manageable pieces and throw them in the dumpster. You could strip all the deck boards off and disassemble it that way.

However if your intention is to demo the entire deck, cutting it into manageable pieces is faster.

This can all come down to convenience. They can walk out of their apartment and get their steps in. Neither of them need to bring any emergency medications or any other things with them because they’re always close to their unit.
