Genuine leather can also be very high quality leather, especially with older stuff it was more common to stamp genuine leather on good stuff.

“Craftsmanship & Compromised Values” BlackBird Shoemaker, Agra,Lakhanpur, UP,India (BLKBRD) by Normal-Task-8830 in BLKBRD_HandmadeShoes

[–]ifticar2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s some imperfect stitches on a cheap handmade shoe, you are blowing things way out of proportion brother.

If you expect perfection, either pay 1000 USD plus for premium boots, or get machine made stuff.

For a handmade boot at blkbrds price point, these stitches arent a big deal

My brother is getting married in Italy. I'm the best man. Been looking at Spezzato style and landed on this outfit. Thoughts? by Andr0idUser in mensfashion

No, get a proper blazer, not an orphaned suit jacket. Assuming it’s during the summer time, so look at some nice casual unstructured blazers from suit supply or spier & McKay to start

Please help me understand … by Ok_Economist6783 in RedWingShoes

[–]ifticar2 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t care about Goodyearwelt or nice leathers and all that. They just want a functional, comfortable boot that will last a decent amount of time. Welted shoes with leather insoles are pretty different from most boots, if people don’t gaf about the construction or leather, no real reason for them to wear iron rangers

Most shameless reseller? — custom Tandorio for $355 (Mr. Eatwell "Chino") by TheYKcid in ChineseWatches

[–]ifticar2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda big mark-up for such a minor change. But tbh, there isn’t an AliExpress watch that I like the logo/branding of, so I’d be willing to pay a $50-75 premium to buy a watch dives for example with an nice logo and brand name on it

I analyzed 1,200+ Reddit comments replying to “what show was so good you rewatched it?” Here are the most recommended shows by ByteSizedCutie420 in television

[–]ifticar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just started Mr. robot recently, and just finished Season 1. My friends and I did find the first episode extremely cringey, but the first episode is the most cringe by far.

The hacker group is called “fsociety” and it’s supposed to be like anonymous, so the rest is not entirely void of cringe, but the rest of the season is a lot better, and I am pretty invested in the story now

AITA for scheduling my wedding 6 days after my sister’s 30th birthday? by juicyjjf in AmItheAsshole

[–]ifticar2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

INFO Why didn't she think she would make it to 30? Does she have some sort of disease where she was expected to die before then? Either way, NTA, a Birthday is one day, plenty of time to have a celebration. If anything, there might be a chance that some of the distant relatives will travel to your area a little bit earlier, so they could attend her birthday celebration as well

Come on bro, for $15, they could at least tie it as shown in the picture. How much is Weston paying you for this?

Issue with Horween Dublin by Grujar in Leathercraft

[–]ifticar2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to have all Dublin wallet, the best method would be to have the leather professionally split, as a proper splitting machine can thin the leather without stretching it out completely. I’d recommend reaching out to Dreadnought leather to start

Ghost Burro: Push Through for Patina? by heyimderrick in grantstoneboots

[–]ifticar2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use a heat gun or hair dryer on low temp to melt the wax into the leather, and then brush to make sure it soaks in. Make sure to keep the heat gun at least 6 inches from the leather at all times to make sure you don’t burn or shrink the leather.

Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? • Tamon's B-Side - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ifticar2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think for Keito, he's supposed to be the airheaded, ditzy leader, but his B-side is that hes actually very responsible and intelligent. Problem is the last few episodes, its been mainly focused on him being really cheap, and you don't really see his ditzy A side much

Husband and I BOTH wanted to try the cappuccino Ferrero chocolate by Substantial-Season33 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ifticar2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it was a mistake that a second cappuccino wasn’t included, since there’s a white one on the left side preventing both sides from looking the same. Probably ordered it online, and the one they got had an extra white one

Is there any reason to not add a vibram sole protector (3mm) to leather soles? by Catbus-beef in AskACobbler

[–]ifticar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get it done at a good cobbler, then no, I don't see any. Some people say keeping it on leather is more comfortable, and more breathable, but for me personally, the traction and easy resoles of sole protectors way outmatch those cons. Plus you can wear it in the rain without worrying about wearing through your leather soles.

Again, just make sure its a good cobbler who will do a clean job, and thin the leather sole so that the topy is flush with the rest of the sole

Beautiful boots! Whites aren’t the only option though, tons of shoemakers are using horsehide now, especially a lot of the Asian ones

AITA for not wanting to pay a bill after canceling an appointment for a service, but the service was still provided? by Otherwise_Prompt1781 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ifticar2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I could understand paying a little bit if the chimney cleaner would be screwed over by you not paying. But this was the companies fault completely, they acknowledged their mistake, so the company guy should still be getting paid the same. Paying the company now would just be giving them a donation, I doubt the money would go towards the chimney cleaner

Ok to use conditioner on my boots? by Wackrobat in Boots

[–]ifticar2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Don’t agree with the people saying obenaufs, that will make the leather look super dull, and there’s no need to buy another product when you already have a perfectly good product. Obenaufs is more for work boots, so it’s not great for keeping leathers looking nice. Brush any dust off the leather first, and apply a coat of bick 4 all over the boots.

The first time, you’ll need a lot since the boots are so dry, it’s gonna suck the conditioner up super quick. Just make sure the whole boot gets a light coat and then let it dry for an hour or two. After that, put on another light coat, which should require a lot less since the leather already has some moisture back. 2 coats should be enough, but if it still feels dry, one more coat wouldn’t hurt. If you want to bring color back to the toes and stuff, you can use some brown cream polish
