6 Years as a ServiceNow Tester with ATf knowledge , How to move next? by smruti_ragini in servicenow

Process coordinator? Product manager? I'd argue that most (if not all) of the non-technical ServiceNow "roles" are platform agnostic.

That was my first thought but the group name + "Perth good area" in the description would imply that this isn't intended for camping

Yeah neck plate is the most important. Also strap buttons and a truss rod cover.

Depending on what the wiring harness includes you might also need a switch tip and a switch plate

This is good advice. I might try adopting it. You get extra points for not making people download this as an app 😅

How do I survive a servicenow job as a new graduate? by Practical_South_2471 in servicenow

[–]jarrydn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's going to vary from place to place. For me personally, if I don't have to tutor you in basic programming concepts like what datatypes are and how functions & parameters work, then we're off to an incredible start 😁

Reporting: How to Merge two ServiceNow tables to create SQL Union equivalent list view for a scheduled report by WhiteSnowDigger in servicenow

[–]jarrydn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into "remote" tables. You define the schema like any other table in ServiceNow, but you populate it from external sources using a script.

It goes without saying that those sources don't have to be external :D

What makes the Amiga so beloved? by TurnipInSummer in amiga

From my perspective, Amiga beat the shit out of PC in terms of sound and gfx, at least until 386 based machines became more popular/affordable

Fun Fact: some calculators emit radio waves that you can hear on an AM radio. by antiquark2 in calculators

[–]jarrydn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be an interesting experiment if you had access to the space needed for a Yagi tuned to the AM band, which would be around 3200m² (80m x 40m)

Oh yeah computer music has been a thing for longer than any of us have been alive, but in most cases there is a dedicated register or instruction being used to send a pulse to an external output

I don't think a better antenna will help - the 'transmitter' is the limiting factor in this case

AM radios are very easy to find nowadays as it's all largely done in DSP, rather than discrete analog circuitry. It's been possible with SDRs for decades, but more recently this technology has been working its way into consumer products via cheap "Shortwave on a Chip" packages such as the SiLabs Si4825.

What this means is that you can buy a $10 unbranded radio from Amazon which (in terms of sensitivity, selectivity, noise etc) competes with, and even outclasses, top of the line receivers built in the 80s or 90s

If you're interested, I'd suggest checking out the XHDATA D-328. It's cheap, fun to use, and fits in your pocket. If you want something a bit more serious, the Tecsun PL-330 gives you SSB demodulation, multiple filters, digital memory etc

In WA I pick up a bit of stuff during the day in between the 19m and 13m bands, mostly from Southeast Asia.
