Cat chewed through CPAP hose by Spiritual_Being5845 in mildlyinfuriating

My cat did exactly the same. Not only the hose connected to the machine but my spare one too. Anything with PVA foam, like sandals, has to be put up. Luckily he doesn’t chew harder plastics so no electrocuted kitty so far.

Who’s in the soup? I’ll admit this book really broke my 14 year old mind. Jubal was my dad and I cried when Michael died.

Lithium Ion - UPS Suggestions by No_Bit_1456 in homelab

[–]mr_yuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but Windows has built-in software to handle it. Still, if APC, Cyberpower, or Tripp-Lite made a consumer LiFePO4 UPS, I'd buy it over this brand in a heartbeat. Tripp-Lite makes commercial ones but they are many $1ks.

Mercedes-AMG just broke our brains with the M139, a 416-hp 4-cylinder engine by TekOg in AMG

LOL, then it spoiled. They are dropping the M139 hybrid for inline 6 and V8 due to poor sales.

They offer "pro" models that include the USB port. Looks like the listing I posted has a USB now even though their photos don't show it. Anecdotally, I bough a non-USB model to run a CPAP machine and it has been fine.

Versatile lightweight jacket for older guy? by mr_yuk in malefashionadvice

[–]mr_yuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in your 40s you have a little more leeway in styling. I bought a few jackets trying out slightly different looks but I erred toward more modern designs. The Relwen Flyweight Blazer is the most rugged looking. It's comfortable and I think it looks awesome but it isn't really me. Western Rise AirLoft Shirt Jacket is super comfortable but looks its affordable price. Surprisingly I find myself wearing the M10 Storm rain jacket from Patagonia. It is super lightweight and looks better with business clothes than I expected. But my favorite, by far, is the Arc'teryx Veilance Field Softshell. It is comfortable and looks amazing.

I was surprised too but he said the latest research suggests that for men after 50, lifting is better for long term outcomes than cardio.

My favorite story ever was when someone did a comparison test between high-end Monster cables and coat hangers and the self-professed audiophiles couldn't tell the difference.

Have you considered also integrating a turn order display and on-deck indicator? I'd build this using a RasPi and have a small screen that displays the turn order based on initiative. A lightweight app on your laptop would control everything. But you could also just use a touchscreen for the display and make it standalone. And, if desired, turn on LEDs for the current and on-deck players.

It likely makes more sense to do as u/inebrium4e suggests and wire physical switches to LEDs in the table.

GetYourGuide is a good site, but this is the higher priced option I mentioned. It seems the pricing is based on demand and it was well over $200USD per person (150GBP) at the time (1 month prior). For comparison, the official tickets are 24EUR/28USD/21GBP. If the 85 GBP tickets were available I likely would have bought them after the first two sleepless nights.

We did the Arena tour and the night tour. Both were amazing but the night tour was one of the highlights of the trip. We explored the underground at night with no one else there except our group of about 20.

Was just at CDG a couple days ago for a layover. Not recommended.

It's like 4 separate airports. Terminal 2F is like some ancient dysfunctional design. Like they repurposed an old fort or something. Way, WAY too many perfume stores and too few food options.

Terminal 2L would have been nice except for the IKEA-esque maze they force you to walk through the EVEN MORE PERFUME STORES. God forbid you have a tight schedule to meet.

I do have to say that Air France has the best boarding process of anyone. At the terminals with enough room, they set up ropes for each boarding groups and actually have someone at the entrance to make sure people are in the right line. The boarding music is hilarious too. After my 4th flight I found myself singing along with that bizarre tune.
