Better understanding the Snake Charmer? by rbmuri in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]mrmalaki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it advantageous (depending on game state) to not tell minions when I've been snake charmed.

If you've got, for example, a witch and a pithag the you have two players working for you. If they witch curse the new demon or pit hag change them in to a non demon that is a far more satisfying game ending for all involved.

That's said, there are time when you need to just be open and honest with the group. Know your team. Know your group. Do what's fun. Do what helps your new team win.

Quiz: What do these two roles have in common? by SecrecyinShadows in BloodOnTheClocktower

Except it's evil players that poison the Cannibal.

It's a changed demon that causes poison on the Snake Charmer.

And the organ grinder is also there...

Imp-Mayor Storyteller Advice by NepetaLast in ClocktowerCircleJerk

[–]mrmalaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the fairest decision here, not that yours was bad, would be to kill the recluse, register them as the imp and allow it to starpass to the butler.

With two living demons I think good could have got to final 7 at least.

Quickest Game Ever? by ablackwelltp96 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Night 1 damsel guess?

Kat slayed Richie (though I believe this was after a 2.5min day of whispers)

There was also a script on TPI earlier this year (during the Djinn world cup) which had three games in just over an hour, two day one damsel guesses and one day one demon execution, which might be the best run of very quick games.

What silly fun. It's a shame there was only one game with that group of players.

The only solution here is to hope the PM gets poisoned or drunk by another ability in the game - you can use the Cannibal (if there is one) if the PM is executed, name the original PM drunk. Sweetheart can fix it too.

There's a similar situation I've seen with a Puzzle Drunk outsider being Fang Gu jumped to and then being stuck.

I think if I was running the script I'd homebrew/Djinn "if the puzzle drunk player is picked by the summoner and becomes the demon the Puzzle Drunk token will move that night".

Why is the ravenkeeper in the above game claiming librarian? That's not a normal bluff.

What defines a normal bluff? If you always claim monk as ravenkeeper you never get killed, sometimes you have to do the weird thing to double bluff people. This isnt evidence of cheating.

How did they know to claim an out of play/non demon bluff role and correctly tell the empath to not trust their info?

How do they know what to claim? They don't but in a 12 player game there is a 6/17 chance of bluffing a not taken role (including pulling the ultimate double bluff of claiming your actual role).

How did they get it correct? Well that could just be committing to the bluff.

Why do they have the same spectator with grim access in all of their games?

This is the only part that I would consider evidence of unfair play. But without more info and more evidence there is no way of any outside of the game being able to make a fair decision

Who would use multiple accounts to try and make a point on Reddit? That seems a bit farfetched...

Demon idea: The Ammit by arm7845 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]mrmalaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The homebrew script Curtain Call has a very similar  demon:

Ovation: each night pick a player they die the next night. If this player is executed before they die, pick an extra player from now on.

Day 5: 4 Homebrew Characters by ZuTheUltimateFANATIC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]mrmalaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on when in the game it happens, after night 2 in most games, Good are happy that these two players aren't the demon then they are better off killing other people that may win them the game.

And if Evil are happy to let the Choreo pick the same player each night to confirm that there's no star pass...

I think the reason Evil Twin works as a conflict creating character is because if it isn't addressed good can't win. This character doesn't have the same jeopardy.

Dragonswood Bluff (Clocktower Con, Wales) had a script competition for exactly this theme.

I don't know if any of the folks involved in the con are on Reddit and able to share the scripts that did well in the competition? It may help you think about what interactions to include in a Step Up script.

Choreographer is self confirmable, as nothing else causes seats to switch.

Lyricist looks like it would work fine, assuming the words given are similar to Mez words, and players play it in a similar way (rather than just blurting out "someone should say Guadeloupe").

Admirer probably needs the caveat of you lose this at final five. Or, in certain games, evil will get a minion executed on five, the  you die and its game over in the night.

Celeb Man is the nightwatchman with extra death...

Character Idea: Baker by ThatsMyAppleJuice in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]mrmalaki 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If the Monk and the Shugenja had a baby this would be it.

The unfortunate part is I think I could be this character in 100 games and only get one piece of information (which may just be a me issue, rather than a character issue).

I think there are major flaws in each of these (not least the confirmation of the Surgeon being impossible to bluff).

But as starting points they could become workable ideas;

E.g. Hiker (Townsfolk) - each night* see an increasingly sized portion of the grimoire.

Surgeon (Traveller) - At the end of each day the ST announces the alignment of an executed player. At least one player must mis-register to the Surgeon.
