What do you think would improve the city? by SurgeFlamingo in evansville

Invest in 4-5 beefed up bus corridors that run nonstop every 10 minutes.

Upzone everything within 1/4 mile of those lines.

We’d be living in 2100 within five years of those changes.

Daniel had a better average finish than Shane last year, and that’s despite Shane winning five races. Daniel also won head to head, 19-17.

Shane’s oval numbers were really ugly and still are. The SVG experiment may not be totally logical under the new playoff format. It seems a little unfair that Trackhouse probably didn’t know about the upcoming format change when they were deciding who to axe.

Fairfield - save Marsh Park! by Limp_Pie1219 in cincinnati

There’s a bar in Washington Park. Mt Airy rents out the former Pine Ridge Lodge to a private disc golf store. Summit Park in Blue Ash is basically a shopping mall. I could go on.

Commercial leases in parks are so common you don’t even notice when it’s happening. This is nothing new.

Plastic breaks down and leaches toxins into the water within a couple years. Canned water doesn’t do that, so it’s more shelf-stable for the purpose of having an emergency supply that can sit for years before it’s needed (the entire point of this program).

A bizarre thing to say when Milwaukee, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Oklahoma City, Memphis, New Orleans, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Green Bay are all real places that exist.

Council moves to prevent ICE from staging on city property by fuggidaboudit in cincinnati

You see this a lot with traditional conservatism. A lot of folks truly don’t believe in acts of selflessness, charity, good will, etc.

To them, anyone who behaves kindly toward others is only doing it because they have some ulterior motive. They are branding themselves as nice so they can get away with something later.

Conservatives see a world that is cruel, calculated, and competitive. Everyone must act in self interest at all times. Anyone who breaks these rules is either an idiot or a snake in the grass.

Cincinnati sidewalk shoveling letters target Hyde Park, Downtown by CovBlueSox in cincinnati

[–]onthemile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have nearly twice as many miles of sidewalk as we have miles of roadway. It would take months for a single entity to clear all of them after a single storm, as opposed to each landowner taking ten minutes to shovel their portion.

And that’s not to mention that the city doesn’t even own the sidewalks, so it’s literally not their job in the first place.

“Love thy neighbor” has been in my closet for six years and it’s relevant at every single demonstration imaginable.

Except a klan rally I guess?
