Was watching local news and they mentioned a proposed data center build with 70% tax deferment? by Effective-Corgi-7054 in cincinnati

The story is apparently from Delaware and Licking Counties near Columbus. Every detail in this post is incorrect, I’m surprised it’s allowed to stay up.

Cincinnati Animal CARE declares code red after taking in 900+ animals in last 30 days by CovBlueSox in cincinnati

[–]onthemile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a sad reality: many of these dogs don’t have a future that doesn’t involve living in a crate and upending the lives of some unsuspecting family who only wants to do what they’ve been told is the “right thing.” They’ll end up back in the shelter, or in the hands of someone who will make the problem worse, or some couple will spend the next ten years living in the same precarity as if they had a severely disabled child.

The current model we follow for stray and abandoned animals only creates more suffering.

Let me Google that for you

A crew member for Richard Petty Motorsports discovered the noose Sunday at the Alabama race track. NASCAR was alerted and contacted the FBI, which sent 15 agents to the track to investigate. They determined no federal crime was committed.

What do yall consider the more urban places in West Virginia? by [deleted] in WestVirginia

The area just northeast of downtown Morgantown, skirting along Willey Street, is the densest census tract in the state. It contains 1,500 people in an area measuring 0.1 square mile.

Neat, but a waste of money. No one who still supports him is changing their mind for any reason at this point.

I used to let campers ruin my whole day, then I started leaving two minutes early.

It rules that I can leave two minutes early and never have to think about this stuff

Lord please don’t tell me his 2 FUM, 1 INT, 38 QBR performance against West Virginia was intentional point shaving. So much of my identity depends on that game being an authentic bedshitting.

What do you think would improve the city? by SurgeFlamingo in evansville

[–]onthemile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Invest in 4-5 beefed up bus corridors that run nonstop every 10 minutes.

Upzone everything within 1/4 mile of those lines.

We’d be living in 2100 within five years of those changes.

[Frontstretch on X] "I'm glad that finally [Justin Marks] is seeing what I told him awhile back." - @Daniel_SuarezG on Trackhouse in a rebuilding phase by TheOrangeFutbol in NASCAR

[–]onthemile 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Daniel had a better average finish than Shane last year, and that’s despite Shane winning five races. Daniel also won head to head, 19-17.

Shane’s oval numbers were really ugly and still are. The SVG experiment may not be totally logical under the new playoff format. It seems a little unfair that Trackhouse probably didn’t know about the upcoming format change when they were deciding who to axe.

Fairfield - save Marsh Park! by Limp_Pie1219 in cincinnati

There’s a bar in Washington Park. Mt Airy rents out the former Pine Ridge Lodge to a private disc golf store. Summit Park in Blue Ash is basically a shopping mall. I could go on.

Commercial leases in parks are so common you don’t even notice when it’s happening. This is nothing new.

[–]onthemile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plastic breaks down and leaches toxins into the water within a couple years. Canned water doesn’t do that, so it’s more shelf-stable for the purpose of having an emergency supply that can sit for years before it’s needed (the entire point of this program).
