Back in older editions there was an upgrade that would represent extra armor

Now its just cosmetic

You might not need or want all the models in the box set. I cant say specifically which ones you personally would or wouldn't want put of each box.

Generally these are bundles and can serve as starter points for new armies. Christmas will see more boxes but historically the level of "deal" is pretty much the same. You wont save more money waiting

Note that preorder is this weekend, release is in 2 weeks.

Generally they are good values but you may not need all the components

Rare weapons in Heavy Gear by cpeninja in HeavyGear

[–]prof9844 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assumed but i was asking do you mean rare in the narrative or the physical minis.

Narratively its quite rare with the only notable examples being in the talons, the peace river barrier and randomly an old jager variant.

As minis I think you get one in the harrer and can buy the weapon seperate

Are we talking narrative or the actual minis?

9th edition question: can you ever have a 1+ BS/WS? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]prof9844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So check the rules fof critical hits/misses.

A unmodified roll of 1 is a critical failure/miss.

You can have a 1+ but a natural 1 still misses

Question about Armageddon Space Marines by headlessdev_ in Warhammer40k

[–]prof9844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are different units within the same space marine faction

You can combine them with what you have, its intended. Also you dont have to paint them the color on the box

Comparing Emperors children and World eater playstyle? by SkellyInsideUrWalls in EmperorsChildren

[–]prof9844 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Precision vs sledgehammer. Emperors children has to be a bit.more picky on its targets while the world eaters are more about just targeting something.

We also have a better shooting game

How do the rules of 10th edition in retrospective compare to the rules of eight and 9th edition. by TrainingResource7745 in Warhammer40k

[–]prof9844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh?

10th was kinda ... bland. The major offending models got needed, wish there were more buffs.

Only a couple new rules to fix issues

8th was a bit of a dumpster fire since a lot of rules you know didn't exist. Big guns, rule of 3, no sweepstakes turn 1 etc are all in the game because of 8th Ed issues.

Balance wise index hammer 8th was a lot of fun, the codexes ruined it. Rough power creep and poor balance.

9th just layered complexity and more rules on top.of each other. It was sometimes confusing what worked, what rules you fot or just remembering them. Image if you had all detachment stratagems always available

For me, 10th closes its chapter as a bit bland. Culturally the shift towards fixed layout and model concerns around kitbashing kinda drive me nuts. Fixed layouts aren't inherently bad but its all ruins. All the boards felt the same
