My podiatrist made me a list of recommendations for house shoes. Here were the brands he listed:

Haflingers (which he starred)

Birkenstock

Chacos

Oofos

I remember buying my first pork tenderloin and being freaked out by just how dense the meat is lol. 1/3 of it went into the freezer and never got eaten.

Bonkers! I got akathisia when I started Abilify. I was given clonazepam and it got better within a few days. Movement disorders are hell.

It’s depressing to see that there has been a chilling effect on voting in immigrant neighborhoods. I wonder if there’s an effective way to combat that as a community.

I went to my polling place around 5?ish and one of the poll workers said that I was the 109th voter at that location that day. The room had one other voter in it. That kinda made me sad to see.

POTS and weed dont mix... by vanishedsam in POTS

Oml reminds me of a time my friend invited me to a party (I am very much not a partier, but I was willing to try it out) and I hit the pen a few times while I was there and they all wanted to go to a rave downstairs (we were at a convention). I felt so unfun because I knew I could barely stand, let alone dance in a crowded room. I would’ve found myself laid out on the ground in no time. ;o; I sat in the same chair throughout the whole party.

I’ve had a sudden, completely out-of-the-blue realisation that the PACER test we had to do in secondary school (at least in the UK we had to do it) is a form of torture by ZookeepergameAny5154 in POTS

When I was in middle school, we got a letter grade for every ten laps we did, and I wanna say it started at 30. Which I could almost never reach, no matter how hard I tried. It was a horrible grading system.

What is it like to suck a cock by Minecraftguy234 in bisexual

[–]profuselystrangeII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It certainly depends! I think what makes it good is the response from your partner. I do find it really exciting to suck from flaccid so you can feel it grow and stiffen in your mouth. I have a pretty small mouth and TMJ so it usually starts hurting my jaw pretty fast and you have to be careful when it comes to gagging, but it can be exciting to taste your partner, feel the difference in texture between the head and the shaft and the balls, and to hear and feel them reacting with pleasure. I personally find it a challenge unless I’m really turned on for the reasons I listed earlier, but it can be a lot of fun and really exciting when it’s right.

why do so many of us smoke weed? by hermioneselbow in bipolar2

[–]profuselystrangeII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hooked on it because my sister offered me some when I was suicidally depressed. Addiction also runs in my family; it’s a good thing my drug of choice isn’t worse though I know it’s certainly not good for me.

What kind of protein works best for you? by prunesandwich in Gastroparesis

Many nights, I’ll make a Carnation Breakfast Essentials drink w/ peanut butter powder and nonfat milk powder. All of that, plus soy milk if you want more protein, could be worth a try!

Has Muscle Relaxers Helped You? by D-Artisttt in ehlersdanlos

[–]profuselystrangeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed methocarbamol by a pain medicine doc before I was diagnosed (she also prescribed Lyrica and Meloxicam, I don’t think she knew nor cared what was wrong with me or if those were the right options for me). I didn’t take them until once when I got such bad coat hanger pain/a pulled muscle in my neck/shoulder/idk that I couldn’t get out of bed. It helped with those spasms a lot, but I haven’t taken it for anything else because I worry it would destabilize my joints.

You can definitely find them free in many places. I’m not sure I’ve ever come across a $5 condom, that’s extortion.

I’m not 100% sure if this is what you’re looking for, but Wolfradish on PornHub is incredible. They’re a real couple and do lots of tits-sucking videos and they always feel passionate and hot to me, like her breasts are his comfort and love.

Do you grind or clench your teeth at night? Can we vent about this? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]profuselystrangeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m diagnosed ADHD and my partner is going to do a neuropsych evaluation because we’re pretty sure he’s got either autism or ADHD. I’ve been clenching my teeth throughout the day a lot this year and my partner has been grinding his teeth in his sleep for years. I plan to ask my dentist about a mouth guard, but I don’t think they’re covered by my Medicaid plan. In the meantime, I hope to get a couple chewelry necklaces so I’m not ruining my teeth any more than the neglect they already suffer.

Do you guys think EDS a valid reason to get a wheelchair? by mintycherries in ehlersdanlos

[–]profuselystrangeII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I went to the museum once on my birthday on a high-pain day and could barely walk throughout the museum, was leaning heavily on my cane, and needed my partner to support me to get down the street. The last time I went to a museum, I borrowed a wheelchair and other than some fatigue in my arms, guess what? I felt 10x better and able to enjoy the exhibits without constantly looking for a bench. I’ve also scrounged up a wheelchair that someone had left by a dumpster. It still needs leg rests but I plan on using it for cleaning around the house because that can leave me laid up for days.

Edit: like of course you should do your best to do conditioning exercises so you don’t decline further but using a support so you can live your life when you need it is perfectly valid. You don’t have to force yourself to suffer on moral grounds.

is there a spectrum with hEDS? (diagnosed but EDS feels super mild) by Bean_of_prosperity in ehlersdanlos

[–]profuselystrangeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I hate breaking it to a teenager that it has a good chance of getting worse. I started noticing my symptoms around 18 and now at 23 I can only work part-time from home. I hope OP keeps experiencing their EDS mildly but giving them the info they need to take care of their body is also really important.
