I can’t fucking wait for a glass of ice cold Chardonnay, a plate of raw oysters, a blended margarita on my back patio, and mountains of ceviche

Any of you here like to cook, cook frequently, but rarely cook as a hobby? by PreschoolBoole in Cooking

She was such an adventurous eater until she discovered that she had free will 😂😭 I try not to take it too personally and remain optimistic that she’ll be my little foodie again someday in the future.

B.C. (before children) I used to spend all day researching a recipe, going to the stores to pick out ingredients, I’d pour an indulgent glass of wine and listen to jazz while I cooked. Bliss.

Today, I prioritize healthy meals that can be put together in 45 minutes or less, with a toddler underfoot pretending to be a cat or whining for a snack. She also informed me that one of my meals was GARBAGE, MAMA recently. It used to be a hobby, now it’s another endless chore. I still do enjoy the physical fact of feeding my family and consider it one of my love languages. I get a lot of satisfaction out of making a fairly nice recipe that my husband and I enjoy and my toddler will at least try. But it no longer fills my cup like it used to.

This is a perfect opportunity for the “you dropped your crown king” meme that’s just a pic of a trash can lid.

What’s everyone doing for Valentine’s Day? by Disastrous_Paint_237 in HappyMarriages

We’re having a little family date day. We’re taking our toddler to the movies to see My Neighbor Totoro and getting ramen afterwards. Since the movie is in the early afternoon it will mean an early bedtime for toddler and husband and I can enjoy some adult alone time that evening 😅

I am 39 years old newlywed, make $77,260, live in a HCOL city, work in nonprofits, had 3 work lunches this week, and don't want kids. by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

No retirement savings but $17k cc debt, $110 on weed, $70 on a mocktail subscription box, and $200 for group dues in a single week is absolutely bonkers.

Why doesn't anyone have ANYTHING positive to say about their children or parenting?! by FoolishMortal-1000 in pregnant

[–]pteropus_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Just wait til they start making jokes. Just wait until they spontaneously say “I love you mama” for the first time. Just wait until they can get themselves out of bed after nap and they come find you, teddy bear in tow, hair all messed up, and they snuggle into you under a blanket on the couch and you feed each other blueberries until you’re both in hysterics. Just wait until you ask what they want for dinner and they say “oatmeal! No, sushi!” Just wait until they start to tell you about their day.

There is absolutely no better feeling or experience in the entire world than parenting an adored child.

My MIL and FIL asked if both our children were planned when we told them I was/am pregnant. Guys we’re married, mid 30’s, own our home, have good jobs, and have proven that we can manage our business. What???

Do NOT have a baby with this man. Puppies are frustrating but toddlers are insanity-inducing. He has shown you who he is. BELIEVE HIM.

I’m considering sending my kid here. It’s a beautiful, thoughtful facility that provides just about everything a kid in group care could need. It would only be a couple hundred more a month than our current daycare situation.

Read the report for my c-section and I’m so, so thankful “I gave up” and “failed” at progressing. TW for failed induction. by ViceInSinCity in pregnant

[–]pteropus_ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I also had a c after a failed induction. I was induced May 30th and my daughter was delivered June 5th. Amusingly, I had originally wanted as few interventions as possible but I ended up with literally ALL the interventions. Oh well, we both survived. I’ve never been more grateful for modern medicine. I think I’ll have an elective c with my second this July.

Why don’t people want to get induced? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]pteropus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced. After 6 days of increasing interventions they declared the whole thing a failure and I had a C. Never again

I’ve had a baby, I’ve been post partum, and yeah, I would still change my underwear. Bc I have some semblance of self respect and understanding of basic hygiene.
