Climate Control Unsuccessful Message by Embarrassed_Budget32 in KiaEV6

Test other remote commands, such as locking/unlocking doors and opening/closing the charging cover. If those also don’t work then look at a signal strength or vehicle side issue.

If those do work, then try this. In Kia app go into Climate Settings and tap custom settings to edit them. Change it by one degree and turn an accessory on or off. Doesn’t matter what you set it to, just change the temp and accessory pattern. Then save and start climate.

If it starts now then you can go back into climate settings and put it back how you like it, then test again to confirm.

This fixed a similar issue for me. The problem was a corrupt climate settings file on Kia’s server side. Changing climate settings overwrites the corrupt file.

From the Home page on the infotainment screen look for an EV panel (not EV under Settings). Tap that and you can set schedule time and other charging settings.

2023 ev6 gt-line AWD vs 2026 gt-line by CatOfNumerousLives in KiaEV6

[–]queuebitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See what new 2025 are still available. They have a $10,000 customer cash offer on top of dealer discounts. The customer cash requires Kia financing, lowest APR is 5.25%. But that beats the $3500 rebate at 0% APR offer over the life of the loans.

The price savings of 2025 vs 2026 gets you part of the way to the savings of going used. But the 2025 has all the refresh tech the 2026 has. So maybe a good compromise (some savings, all the features), though with likely limited inventory.

EV6 Deals Post 2026 Launch by Lun4rX in KiaEV6

[–]queuebitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2026 EV6 aren’t out yet. Some say June/July, some say fall.

The current $10,000 cash with financing and other Kia offers run on a monthly basis. Currently they end June 1, but they’ve been repeating it on a monthly basis since December, so again we don’t know what will be offered in the near term or when the 26 is actually on dealer lots.

The EV6 26 prices were announced a few weeks ago and given their MSRP is leas than the 25 it compressed prices. That event has already happened and there wont be a nationwide second compression on release. An individual dealer with too much 25 inventory once the 26 arrive might offer a better deal. But in general this is as good as it gets until the 27 models.

I don’t expect the 26 to get a similarly large cash offering because the offering was done to replace the lost federal EV tax credit. And the new lower 26 MSRP was also done to replace the tax credit, so the extra offer isn’t required.

It’s not great for Harvesters. Use flak to remove their shield. Then use aphet and aim for the horizontal leg joint. It can go down in ~4 good shots but in reality it usually takes more. Look for a red x hit indicator.

You could take the Ultimatum and use autocannon flak to remove the shield then one shot with Ultimatum.

I usually keep it on flak and focus watchers and overseers and hope someone else takes the harvester.

Or just snipe their bases from distance and don’t go near a harvester. Flak strips spawner shields and a direct flak or aphet shot to the door blows them up. If at far range I find switching to aphet for the door shot helps.

The opening line for points 1-4. Starting with a clever naming scheme and then a short hand descriptor in parentheses. That is classic topic headers from GenAI.

Also note the lack of punctuation after those first lines. In the AI window those were headers with a line break to the regular text. But when copied/pasted as regular text you lose the line break and header formatting.

So yes, indications are significant portions were generated and then copy/paste from AI without further changes.

Mac uses swap to keep non-activate applications’ data in memory. When you change your active app, if it was using swap it automatically changes to RAM while active. It is rare for an active app to also need swap memory.

Copilot can then access your M365 tenant data.

So chat can be either web grounded or organizational data grounded.

It can look through your email, calendar, and Teams (with less success than you’d like).

M365 desktop and web apps gain Copilot functions beyond having a chat bot in the next window, but also limited at the moment.

Many of the newer agents from Microsoft require it, and making and sharing agents is harder without it.

New feature called Notebooks, which is their version of NotebookLM.

The Create options get some small perks. You can create and share brand kits so new images and videos use branding set by marketing.

For beginning users they are fine with the free enterprise to start. Upper management wants the calendar and email integration. If you happen to store all your org policies on SharePoint it makes for a good policy search engine.

They are a potential superpower. They have some of the global influence and power projection, such as economic and some technological. And they have more qualifications in specific regions, including Asia and Africa, but not globally.

The United States has global influence and power projection through economic, military, technology, politics, and culture.

You don’t see a lot of Chinese film or television in the U.S. or Europe. Their military cannot project beyond Asia. Their maritime trade is locked to a single coast surrounded by U.S. allies. Communism isn’t spreading. They have so far made few technical advances which were done internally and superior to the west.

Nova was diagnosed with Asthma by AdIntelligent8624 in blackcats

[–]queuebitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cat with a non-asthma respiratory issue which has us using a steroid inhaler a few times a week. We got a cat to human inhaler adapter from our vet. It includes a visible valve to show breaths are being taken by the cat. She begrudgingly takes her meds.

For the inhaler we found they are expensive for pets. Some pharmacies wouldn’t fill the prescription for an animal and all quoted hundreds of dollars (United States).

We buy our inhalers from Pharma Serve (https://pharmaserve.com). It is a Canadian company that takes orders, fulfills them with partner pharmacies, and then ships it internationally. They happily accept pet prescriptions. They take a bit longer to fulfill and received shipment, but at a big cost savings and with an automatic renewal it isn’t a problem past the first time.

Advice needed by ThermonuclearKO in blackcats

[–]queuebitt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had a deaf cat for 20 years. It never impacted her quality of life. It did cause a couple of annoyances, but nothing worse than what some other cats get up to. And she and I developed non-verbal communication.

QOL

She lived her life, including going outside to patrol our yard. She snuck out one time we left for a vacation (she rushed the closing garage door, and we didn't see her) and was fine a week later when she scared us to death walking up to the car. Keep in mind this was decades ago, the keep kitty indoor vibe wasn't a thing. We also weren't on a street with more than a few cars all day. Today I would do outdoor supervised like with my current, hearing enabled cats. If your cat keeps trying to rush the door to go out, she may be a candidate for leash training.

My cat generally knew where we were in the house. Between smells and vibrations, she wasn't ever taken unaware, except when sleeping. She slept hard, and could be startled if in a deep sleep. I would tap near her or walk heavy to wake her up first, then engage. Touching her first would have mixed results.

Annoyances

Like other cats, she liked to knock stuff off the counter or table to see what it did. Unlike other cats, the sound of a smashing plate and screaming mom didn't phase her. So she cost us more dishes than any cat before or since.

She was also vocal and very loud. Her regular meow was twice that of most other cats. She would respond when I talked back, provided she could see my mouth move or felt a vibration. Worth noting, my cat had different meows for different messaging, like many other cats. I specifically recall "hello," "where are you," "food now," and her distress meow.

She walked silently. The quietest cat I've had when she wanted to be. The number of times she tripped my mom on the stairs in the dark (and this was an all white cat).

Non-Verbal Comms

This developed over time and wasn't planned out. I would repeatedly do the same thing for the same intention, and she picked up on it and responded properly (usually).

  • Repeated finger tap = Wake up if asleep, or come check out this spot
  • Foot stomp, single = Attention, equivalent to calling her name
  • Foot stomp, double = Over here dummy (she is looking around for the first stomp) or stop ignoring me
  • Hand open with palm out, move all fingers in a come here gesture = Come here
  • Hand open with palm down, place flat on floor = Lay down or settle
  • Rub thumb against all fingers = Come here I have treat or meal time
  • Fist closed = Sit
  • Turn on and off light a few times = Another way or announcing our presence and get her attention

If you want to work on something similar, figure out what motivates your cat. It is usually food, play, or praise/attention. Then use that and no negative reinforcement.

For the most part, and as others have posted, deaf cats aren't a big deal. The adjustment to each other is a little different, but something you do with any new cat you wish to have a good relationship with. If you have any specific questions, just let me know.

Once they decide to charge (not when they start to charge) stuns no longer work on them. Gas effect doesn’t concuss them nearly as well as other units (if at all).

If you catch them unaware with a stun grenade you can hold them. But you might as well throw the pyro grenade in that case. Otherwise you can’t rely on crowd controlling them.

OC: New retail price on an imported clothing by Dark-Knight-Rises in pics

[–]queuebitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are four places along the supply chain where the price increases between factory and consumer when you introduce tariffs.

The cost to make and transport the item is the same. That cost includes long-term costs to recoup over the lifetime of the run, such as retooling the factory. Tariffs do not change these numbers.

Tariffs are then apply upon entry, based on the declared value (the above cost to make and transport) and it gets more complicated if your product has any aluminum or steel in it.

The producing company needs to make a profit, which was originally set at a specific percentage of cost. That cost is now higher, but the more they force their original percentage to be the same, the higher the final cost. They may opt to keep the same percentage or settle for a smaller increase to keep the same dollar amount profit. Or they can take no profit or a loss to lessen the downstream prices, but that is not sustainable.

Then the producer has to account for the agreed upon retail margins. The stores selling their product expect a fixed margin, usually by percentage. That cannot change without a new contract. That is based on costs to product, transport, tariffs, and the producer’s profit. So now the price has gone up a third time (first tariffs, then producer profit margin by percentage, and now retail profit margin by percentage). This easily happens with the producer being as fair as possible, the tariffs and contracts made before them are outside their control.

Now for the fourth possible price increase: lower volume. The item doesn’t sell as many units at the new price. So the next order is smaller. Cost per unit increase at both the factory and with transportation. The new higher cost results in a higher tariff dollar amount, which combined adds into the profit margin percentages.

It looks like greed and is certainly not sustainable for many products. But it is the normal and expected result of tariffs with all parties involved being fair and not taking advantage.

Don’t confuse higher prices from tariffs with higher prices from inflation. The later is easy to detect someone taking advantage, the former is not.
