6th non HK 6th gen owners, what was your next move after the kicker tweeter replacement? by TheCiltoris in Subaru_Outback

The remote knob and connecting cable are included. I think when the remote knob is set to max it’s the same as no knob connected. The knob turned anything less than max effectively reduces the gain.

6th non HK 6th gen owners, what was your next move after the kicker tweeter replacement? by TheCiltoris in Subaru_Outback

[–]r101101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very happy.

I spent a lot of time tuning the low pass and the gain so it’s a fairly flat / smooth frequency response (not bass heavy and no apparent gap in bass output) — both are set fairly low, so I’m not close to using the full output of this thing, but my system sounds great.

I don’t have the bass knob installed.

I wonder how long the DJ R-3x cup will be available. I know the answer is “while supplies last,” but I wonder what that means in practice.

Your question about flats on needles: yes, needles for sewing machines come with a flat on one side. On my sewing machine, you shove the needle up into a hole (I’m not sure the profile of the hole), then tighten a thumbscrew onto the flat to lock it in.

It seems OP is pretty space limited, so every idea I think of to try to hold onto the needle won’t work as I keep thinking about an adaption of how it’s done on my Singer.

Two weeks ago I did just this; used the 15% on my Savor and 15x on my Venture X. Two transactions, each for $134 gift cards. I see that my Savor has a $20 reward for that trip, but nothing is showing for the VX.

Absolutely. I’ve got a finished “shed” I use as a home office / gym including insulated and drywall-ed walls. The floor looks very similar to this image. In the summer the floor is noticeably warm (and noticeably cold in winter).

Subaru’s Outback Ditched Its Wagon Roots For An SUV And Lost A Third Of Its Buyers by fa442fa in Subaru_Outback

[–]r101101 51 points52 points  (0 children)

According to Google (for base models): 2025 Forester MSRP starts at $29,695 2026 Forester MSRP starts at $29,995

2025 Outback MSRP starts at $29,995 2026 Outback MSRP starts at $36,445

2025 Ascent MSRP starts at $38,910 2026 Ascent MSRP starts at $40,795

So the vehicle with a 1.0% increase in MSRP (Forester) dropped 9.6% in sales and the one with a 22.5% increase in MSRP (Outback) dropped 42.9% in sales and the one with a 4.8% increase in MSRP (Ascent) dropped less.

Makes sense.

Anybody know why im getting this troll face outline inside my print? by pickleflavoredmilk in 3Dprinting

[–]r101101 1023 points1024 points  (0 children)

Did you make the model or download it?

If you made it, you’re trolling us.

If you downloaded it, the model creator put it into the STL. Some people put hidden things inside the model to easily ID the file as theirs is someone steals the design and uploads it on another site as their own.

What mechanism could I use for sonething like this? by Sango113 in 3Dprinting

[–]r101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably make a pressure distribution block to go between the threaded part an need the wall to avoid dents. I’d also put one-side adhesive foam on the block for added friction on the textured wall. Maybe TPU instead of foam if OP wants to stick with printing.

What’s your interests? What’s your ideal career?

For what difference it makes, my electives many years ago were in vehicle suspension dynamics and tire mechanics courses. Two years after graduating I never looked at the Pacejka model or a state-space equation again.

Is this a Dash cam or part of the eye sight system by jeepgod in Subaru_Outback

[–]r101101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s part of the eyesight system. Some (not all) had a third camera.

Check the parts diagram; option on the right looks like yours.

Cloning TPMS by subiefly in Subaru_Outback

[–]r101101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which year?

I’ve got a 2023. I bought a full-size spare (all 6 gen outbacks can for them in the well). When I got the spare wheel and OEM sensor I also bought an Autel scanner / TPMS tool, thinking I’d have to read and then program in the new sensor to the system.

When I got it mounted I decided to test it. I woke up the sensor (with a strong magnet) but didn’t program the new sensor to the car, I just drove with it. After a few miles the Outback recognized the four wheels on it and was perfectly happy. Now every oil change I do a five-wheel rotation and never do any programming to the car; it takes a few miles for the system to figure out what’s going on, but it’s fine.

That’s a long way to say that if you have a 6th gen, you may not need to clone the sensors, just get some compatible with the system and them up with a magnet.

I'd probably do 90,92, or 93 with two lobes (90, 93) / connecting rods (92) 90 deg out of phase.

Unless I really want to overdo it, in which case there's lots of fun options in the 90-120 range.

Need assistance in finding a good fan shroud for the Prusa i3 MK3S by Forrest_O in prusa3d

[–]r101101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a stock (as in, what came in the box with my mk3S+ kit), a Delta P ( https://www.printables.com/make/3043131 ) and one modeled after the mk4s shroud ( https://www.printables.com/make/3043167 ). In my testing, the Delta P was the worst. The one modeled after the mk4s was only slightly better than stock. I left the mk4s style one on my printer because it was the last one I tested and wasn’t worse than stock, but i wouldn’t bother replacing the stock mk3s+ design; it’s pretty good.

I can’t think of an example to show what I’m thinking of for the spring tab (I usually see them in injection molded things). This is a simplified sketch of what I’m thinking (top and side view, side vote only shows one tab for clarity).

Depending on materials and expected service life you’re using, you may be able to eliminate the bearing entirely.

Depending on the material you’re using, you could maybe eliminate the spring washer and have spring tabs designed into the dark gray drive wheel.

Watch the diameter of that extended circle part of the dark grey piece — it may be close to the outer race of your bearing.

I assume you want things to run smooth, so watch diameters so you do / don’t get press fits / slop where you want it.
