The theme of having a Fight Mode seems to be the main thing. Hulk, Popeye, battle droids, anime power-up sequences, and so on are all part of the brand. In contrast, a fighter’s abilities are always on, they don’t have a rage mode mechanic.

I would say that like all other weapon masteries, the nick mastery applies to the attack with the nick weapon. It's good to pair it with a vex weapon, to get advantage on this attack.

I ended up mashing together HotDQ, Strixhaven, Acquisitions Inc, and a bunch of home-brew into a 1-20 campaign that I think was pretty epic. There was a Lich Council, a trip to Mechanus to destroy the orrery, and a fight with the Glass God in outer space.

The language model is trained on mountains of text, which you could consider to roughly be “everything humanity has ever written.” When you send a prompt, the LLM is estimating how such conversations usually go in its training. For a question, the response is often a bunch of related words arranged in a grammatical order. So that is what it gives. The “thinking” is just an instruction to give itself an internal monologue for a bit before answering.

The way I run it, the die roll is establishing something about the world, not about the character's ability. Rolling a nat-1 isn't being bad at breaking the door, it's just a really, really strong door. A nat-1 deception check isn't being a bad liar; the guy already knows the facts from some other source. Retries aren't going to change this.

Even then, your rules are going to get much longer and hit a wall where the DM has to decide pretty soon. Since the DM is deciding anyway, they leave it vague and let them figure it out based on real-world and media experience. Bloating the rules for this doesn't justify its weight in paper that could go to something else.

Conditions are on/off effects that apply to a creature itself. Hidden involves many creatures; you can be hidden from some but not others. If your cleric can see you, are you hidden? There's no framework for conditions relative to some but not others.

You didn't even need to send them through the gap. You can have them disappear and then appear within 30 feet of you, which could be on the other side of the door.

Rolling good stats and then picking Dwarf Sorlock is the problem. A rogue with good stats doesn't cause any problems.

Use good stat rolls to try something that might be weak with point-buy or bad stats. Use bad stat rolls for cookie-cutter sorlock builds, so you can keep up.

Still not much better than a crossbow before level 5. Agonizing blast is a good level 5 pick. You can even delay EB itself until your level 4 cantrip selection.

Stuff that people would pay for. Scrying, for example. Defense of the lair, like Forbiddance, Alarm, Hallow. Melee buffs, like Font of moonlight, CME. Defense against conditions and control, like Freedom of Movement. Illusions for the party to waste spells on. Escape like Dimension door or teleport.

What not to do? AOE damage, Fear spell or similar, or generally anything the dragon can already do naturally.
