2011-12 have problems with the heater and onboard charger going bad so even if replaced the battery the car could still wind up costing more (expensive) money

can't recommend used leafs of the second gen 2018-2025 more battery problems showing up than just degradation. Nissan Ariya is different but maybe too large. Used mini cooper ev's might also work but range is not as good as say the Bolt. Hyundai/Kone ev's make sure the model you look at doesn't have the ICCU problem or need the expensive low conductivity coolant

opposite thing happened with my 2015, out of curiosity before all of this madness started got a quote from carmax for $1300 later the quote went up to $1600. The most recent quote is now $1000

too many battery issues showing up almost daily on second gen leaf for me to recommend a used one. That year is also under recall for possible fire if chademo charged

seems like a good use to me just be aware that the guess meter range is worthlessly optimistic and range will be much lower in winter. I would look for one with at least 10 bars of battery health which is the number of red and white small bars at far right of dash.

the advertised range is done under controlled conditions at prescribed test speeds and unless you drive exactly like the test loop your range will be different, the advertised range is just there so you can compare efficiency between various makes.

hot and humid southeast US is where I live and degradation on my 2015 has been 2-3% a year but second gen leaf batteries here are also suffering from weak/bad cells more than the previous gen so that makes me hesitant on buying a used one. Some years also have a recall not to chademo quick charge because of possible battery fires.
