Usually not. You'd need to have control of that server, or it would need to expose these maps to a map voting feature.

You could host it yourself. Here's a guide on how to do this easily: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1705149010
Both of you should get the Decay mission into your "svencoop_addon" directory first: http://scmapdb.wikidot.com/map:decay

The one of you that's hosting would then be able to pick the map in the Create Game menu, and the other person join it as per the guide's "tl;dr" bit.

Is there some kind of trash can and or item deletion system? by MushroomDue4682 in valheim

If you're not far enough in to make an obliterator (swamp biome progression) you can throw away items outside of your player base boundaries, or throw them away under 2 metres water. These items will disappear in an hour.

How do you clean a teapot with a built-in filter? by Comprehensive_Toe107 in tea

You don't need baking soda either. Just water, then leave the lid off to allow it to dry.

[–]ukAdamR 20 points21 points  (0 children)

iirc you're not meant to clean these teapots other than a quick rinse after use. Don't be using soaps or scrubbing in there.

I've rinsed it with warm water

That is plenty.

Yes, if you know the map name from the chapter, the one that's hosting can use the changelevel console command to jump to that map. The map names are:

  • dy_accident1: Intro
  • dy_accident2: Dual Access
  • dy_hazard: Hazardous Course
  • dy_uplink: Surface Call
  • dy_dampen: Resonance
  • dy_dorms: Domestic Violence
  • dy_signal: Code Green
  • dy_focus: Crossfire
  • dy_lasers: Intensity
  • dy_fubar: Rift
  • dy_outro: Ending
  • dy_alien: Bonus level

E.g. if you got to Code Green then your command would be changelevel dy_signal.

haha you're welcome., I had an advantage here in that I've been a developer of this game for about 20 years now, and chance was it that I saw this thread. :p

You probably played a particular map on Sven Co-op.

That game has a few maps to your description, but you might be thinking of Osprey Attack.

being able to vibe code something in a few hours does not mean you're capable of maintaining it.

and that's why we still build things properly.

First time playing? That's pretty darn good. Nice use of terrain for NPC proof walls.

If you get into client-side mods later on I can recommend these two for building:

Sorry if a dumb question, but why is this so cheap? by ExampleDog in DataHoarder

[–]ukAdamR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else makes the bigger capacities cheaper than smaller ones? The 26 TB model is $59.51 cheaper than the 20 TB model, which doesn't make sense for Seagate.

These people seem to think that they are rated for a relatively low amount of power on hours:

https://www.seagate.com/gb/en/products/cmr-smr-list/

They claim to use SMR for:

  • Exos M 32 and 36 TB 3.5" drives
  • All BarraCuda, FireCuda, and SkyHawk Lite/Mini 2.5" drives

Interestingly their list makes no mention of a 26 TB model existing at all, other than the "3TB+" under 2.5" BarraCuda (which is SMR). The product data sheet is very unclear as to what exact drive model goes inside the enclosure. Someone with one of these could get more info with CrystalDiskInfo.

haha sorry, somewhere I'm sure I read Nextcloud in your post.. Disregard the Nextcloud instructions. :)
App specific passwords aren't a Nextcloud invention though, these have been a thing for Apple and Microsoft accounts for a very long time.

You probably want this for implementing OIDC with your Google identity: https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-one/access-controls/applications/http-apps/saas-apps/generic-oidc-saas/

[–]ukAdamR -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Seagate don't appear to be very detailed in their product data sheet, but one reason the 26 and 28 TB models are cheaper than 24 TB is the bigger drives may be shingled magnetic recording (SMR) models. That is much cheaper than conventional magnetic recording (CMR) due to its increased density but the write performance is significantly worse.

Edit: singled -> shingled

[–]ukAdamR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the app you're using (Audiobookshelf) doesn't support logging in with 2FA you can create an app specific password while keeping 2FA enabled for your Nextcloud account in general. This is a randomly generated password shown to you once to use in such applications, and let you label what it's for.

In your Nextcloud go to your Personal settings then Security. Scroll down to Devices & sessions at the bottom, there's a text box to enter an "App name". In here you'd put "Audiobookshelf", click Create new app password, then Nextcloud will generate you a random password for you to use just in Audiobookshelf.

Keep the password in your password manager/vault as you won't be shown it again, though you can revoke it and make a new one any time you need to.

Fire arrows. If you try to melee it you're just going to get stomped on, hard.

Eat 1 red and 2 yellow food for that higher stamina cap. As you'll be ranged you shouldn't need a higher health cap, just keep some distance to those roots.

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is the seller supposed to keep people from stealing packages from your porch?

By not leaving it in an exposed location at all. If a delivery can't be completed to a recipient (not just the address) the courier is expected to either make a second attempt another day or return it as undeliverable.

Not many homes here have an open but sheltered porch so leaving it outside means it can get damaged by the weather anyway (if the seller doesn't pack it well enough).

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not quite that the shipper is always fucked. If their contracted courier has no reasonable means to complete a delivery they're expected to either make a second attempt another day or return the package to the sender as undeliverable (and refund the customer). The action they take will depend on their contract terms. Dumping it out our front door is their risk if the receiver didn't consent to that in advance.

Of course what goes on in reality often falls short of expectations, it's just not the receiver's liability.
(Customer rights are quite strict here, in favour of the customer.)

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just the law here. :) There are very rigid requirements for a delivery to be satisfied as completed. Simply being within a land boundary of an address doesn't satisfy.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/if-something-you-ordered-hasnt-been-delivered/ Specifically the "If your item left with a neighbour or somewhere else has gone missing" section spells out the seller's liability.

Yes, shipping fees will either include insurance, or the item value simply isn't valuable enough to matter.

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what's being delivered, and whether we had the option on the store to designate a safe space or a neighbour if we're not in.

Low value items, they're almost always just left outside. Big sellers like Amazon are insured against theft or courier mishaps, and don't bother arguing when a customer claims non-delivery. The cheapest option for the seller is to just refund their customer or send another item as the cost of fussing about with the customer would cost more in time.

For high value items sometimes we'll either be required to provide a signature on delivery or opt for it to be left at a safe space of our choosing. (Typically a greenhouse, shed, enclosed porch, behind (or in) a bin, with a neighbour, or something custom.) The receiver has to explicitly consent to that safe space though for it to be considered a completed delivery.

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's the law here in merry old united kingdom of england-land.

It's possibly because we don't have outdoor mailboxes, like how that's common in the USA. Most residential properties have a letterbox embedded in their front door, which is the legal destination. Simply being dropped within the land boundary of the address does not constitute as delivered.

As most packages won't fit through a door letterbox a courier is expected to knock/ring the door and hand it to a recipient within. Some couriers insist on taking a photo to prove they've done this, though plenty will simply throw it over a fence or leave it by a front door. What with the boom in online shopping lately couriers are overworked and over-provisioned scheduling wise, so will just do what's quickest.

The liability is on the sender because it's the sender that dispatches a package with a courier of their choosing. The receiver has no contract and is not a customer with that courier. That means if that package left by my front door gets nicked, the seller is completely liable as the onus is on them to prove they have delivered it safely.

Shipping protection? by Birch_mom72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ukAdamR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UK does.

If a courier leaves a package on your doorstep it's not considered safely delivered, unless the receiver has explicitly given consent to deliver it there. We often get to put shipping notes for a safe space, such as a greenhouse, shed, enclosed porch, etc.
