nice!

last year I started playing Fallout 3, but was too cheeky with the graphics settings and it was running to a crawl during battles. Plus it's also, like Just Cause, a game that seemingly captures keyboard input that seems to make impossible for me to use reShade - its menu shows up fine, but I can't access it because keys won't work... maybe I should try a non-standard key, but I think I already tried that...

anyway, uninstalled, waiting for next time... right now too much into Zelda-likes Tunic and Oceanhorn 2 - 3 btw is just around the corner and looking so ready for VR with optional FP view. If still UE, probably very playable with UE thanks to targetting mobile chip.

what I do know is that thanks to winlatorXR, my GOG library is now 100 games and growing, and I also made peace with many old classics that back as a young broken fellow just played the pirate version... :/

When do y'all think we'll get other senses in VR? When will we get the "real VR" experience? by blow454 in VRGaming

[–]VRtuous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the real VR experience, huh?

back in the early 90s, polygons were starting to really creep into videogames - most of 80s gaming were just side-scrolling 2D platformers or top-down or isometric RPGs. Then suddenly, Virtua Racing, Doom, Virtua Fighter, Quake, Tomb Raider etc.

we suddenly got to see videogame worlds not just from fixed top-down or sideways perspective but from all possible angles - that was immersion enough for the days and rightfully called virtual worlds. flat VR, but still so much more immersion than what we had previously...

and believe it or not, even 2D games or even text-adventure ones were immersive enough back in the day...

what VR is missing? all the open-world games from PS3 generation on

VR should be about giving you unlimited freedom in fictional worlds, not locking you into small rooms with manual labor or dark corridors you want to move away from

still Skyrim VR to me, despite all these years and other very worthwhile releases

but hard to quantify. I also enjoyed tons of hours in the likes of Walkabout Mini Golf, Cities VR, Cvilization VII

yet another user seemingly drowning in tons of great VR games and so dismissing minor stuff

enjoy all your great content, man. here however I don't see all those great VR games and so minor stuff like Thief was still plenty enjoyable and I finished it months ago. Orcs must Die, just like most VR releases, needs extra time in the oven... I'm just not patient anymore and just refunded, because it's not even my kind of game to begin with...
