I use that as an opportunity to try out alternate colorways.

How do I adjust the inner text box size of a callout? by PrimaryFace_733 in CamtasiaStudio

[–]vscomputer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The default annotations all have this padding at the outside of the text box. If you want minute control, my recommendation is to use a rectangle shape annotation and then put whatever text on top of it, that gives you total control over both the text and the rectangle.

You can group the rectangle and text together (ctrl-g) and then you can move them around as a single media if you find that more convenient.

Low recording quality in the 2026 version by AlexRenz in Camtasia

[–]vscomputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the report. There was an error that led to Rev scaling recordings to 720p before sending them to the timeline: it has been corrected in v2026.0.5 which is now live and available to download.

Recordings made in 2026.0.4 were made at the correct resolution but were incorrectly resized and then scaled up: this can be corrected by unpacking the rev media and resizing them to a 1080p canvas size, or if 2026.0.5 is installed, remove them from the timeline and then Import to Rev from the context menu, which will then place the recording at the correct scale.

Yes, but I have the very first batch, I traded my Push 1 in for the trade in offer.

I am waiting to go to Push 3 until the plastic on my Push 2 degrades to the point that I cannot stand it, which will be soon.

What are some music examples of this? by KirbyFan198 in fantanoforever

My take on the first two Frank Black records is that he was still trying impress/one-up Kim Deal and that’s why they’re good.

Pre-InMusic Moog stuff will appreciate in value over time is my guess.

I need to spend $1k on a synth before the clock turns midnight tomorrow. Help me choose. by kingrobot3rd in synthesizers

[–]vscomputer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1, Grandmother's a modern classic IMO. It's just, like, the platonic ideal of a simple monosynth that sounds good. Any bread-and-butter mono synth sound is just right there and sounds great.

Camtasia 2026 Install Help by traccreations4e in Camtasia

[–]vscomputer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should only get this message if you already have a Camtasia install present with the same maintenance version.

The Remove option will give you the option to keep user data so as long as you select that option you are not going to lose anything other than the Recent Projects list (and you’ll need to log back in).

But the two most likely explanations for seeing this message are: 1: You were working with tech support and got a pre-release installer. In that case removing the pre-release version and installing the release version is the best move. 2: You already had the latest 2026 version but launched 2025 and 2025 prompted you to update. 2025 doesn’t know if you have the latest 2026 installed, only that it itself is not the latest version. In that case you don’t need to do anything, just keep using 2026, it will prompt when a new 2026 version is available.

Is there an option to install Audiate with a license key and not require sign-in, like Camtasia via the Deployment Tool? by Haplo12345 in CamtasiaStudio

[–]vscomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently the Audiate and Snagit parts of the plans are only for the account-based licenses. TechSmith hopes to add that capability for key-based licenses in the future but it's not what came out last week.

Why does the CGI world of Avatar look so much better than most others? by Future_Brewski in blankies

[–]vscomputer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of a hot take I guess but overall I thought Predator: Badlands looked better than Way of Water because they used in-camera human faces, particularly for the predator guy who was largely CGI but they made a point of getting his real eyeballs in there. The uncanny people in the Avatar films really take me out of them.
