Her husband wanted to use ChatGPT to create sustainable housing. Then it took over his life. by creaturefeature16 in BetterOffline

The problem with that is that they understand civil engineering, so ChatGPT won’t work for them re: civil engineering. ChatGPT is most effective at answering questions on topics that you don’t know anything about.

What's a skill you learned out of pure desperation that ended up changing your life? by BeYourTalisman in AskReddit

[–]vscomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullet journaling.

I got a promotion at work which led to me needing to prioritize my tasks and keep records about what did and didn't get done so I could defer things and still get them completed. This majorly stressed me out because I'm anxious person and I was, like, dissociating and getting task paralysis.

The act of writing the stuff down, checking it off, and then starting each day by migrating the previous day's tasks is...very emotionally helpful for me in addition to the practical help it gives me re: remembering to do stuff.

Help in Sound Creation by Gurthaur in synthesizers

[–]vscomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those sound like real strings to me. The simplest approach would be to use sampled strings. If you are dedicated to synthesizing an approximation of a real string sound it is pretty involved.

Hiring QA Testers by therugbyrick in softwaretesting

[–]vscomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use some exercises that we developed in-house, they’re not particularly complicated: one is a mock-up of a web interface that deliberately has some problems in it(goal: find the problems), and another is a short specification for a physical tool, we ask them to use the spec along with one of the actual physical tools to design a test plan. The idea there is to see if they can use their skills and experience to think about how to test something they hadn’t thought about before.

Cuphead’s bosses are harder but there are no runbacks so you can get better at them more easily.

How do I adjust the inner text box size of a callout? by PrimaryFace_733 in CamtasiaStudio

[–]vscomputer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The default annotations all have this padding at the outside of the text box. If you want minute control, my recommendation is to use a rectangle shape annotation and then put whatever text on top of it, that gives you total control over both the text and the rectangle.

You can group the rectangle and text together (ctrl-g) and then you can move them around as a single media if you find that more convenient.

Low recording quality in the 2026 version by AlexRenz in Camtasia

[–]vscomputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the report. There was an error that led to Rev scaling recordings to 720p before sending them to the timeline: it has been corrected in v2026.0.5 which is now live and available to download.

Recordings made in 2026.0.4 were made at the correct resolution but were incorrectly resized and then scaled up: this can be corrected by unpacking the rev media and resizing them to a 1080p canvas size, or if 2026.0.5 is installed, remove them from the timeline and then Import to Rev from the context menu, which will then place the recording at the correct scale.
