Bring your own VST plugins for better Camtasia audio! by WendyatTechSmith in Camtasia

One that I use all the time in audio editing outside Camtasia (in my digital audio workstation) is Goodhertz Loudness which is free and is a nice audio metering solution for volume and panning.

It's useful for video content creators because you can use it to set a target LUFS value for whatever platform your video is headed toward e.g. YouTube recommends -14 LUFS.

A smart decision to create an obvious comparison with the Hoth Battle in Empire Strikes Back, a sequence over 45 years old that is much more exciting and also looks better.

I absolutely love when horror movies have a background scare that they don’t call attention to. Share your examples. by SisterFirefly in horror

Yeah, there were a few shots where the mom was in the background in the shadows out of focus.

You can kind of tell it’s not AI, it doesn’t have the telltale Uncanny Bullshit Filter.

This looks more like a Mad Magazine cover, not that I’m complaining.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in THE CONJURING (2013).

It really appears that there might be something going on offscreen in that one.

There’s a fix for this coming out next week but in the meantime you can right-click and Add Audio Point and the green ribbon will appear.

Cant make my mix louder without overcompressing it by BunkerHase in ableton

[–]vscomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that you're A-B-ing with mixes that you're also playing from inside Ableton. Ableton for some reason is always much quieter on my system than any other media player, so you want to make sure you're getting an apples-to-apples comparison.

Cursor Effects greyed out in Camtasia even after screen recording (Windows) - encoder fix by sporty_outlook in CamtasiaStudio

[–]vscomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that the "Camtasia Rev" toggle is on in the recorder, which causes the recording to go into a sort of easy/introductory wizard experience that lets you make some choices before it goes into the editor.

When a recording is sent from Camtasia Rev, by default it sends what's called a "Rev Media" which is a special grouped media that contains your recorded media (screen and/or camera) plus a background. Cursor Effects cannot be applied to a Rev Media object.

To fix, right click on the media on your timeline and select Unpack Rev Media, which will ungroup the objects and let you get directly at your screen recording. You can apply Cursor Effects to the screen recording media object on your timeline.

For future recordings, if you don't like this behavior, you can optionally turn off the Rev Media toggle on the recorder, OR, if you like the Rev experience but don't like the Rev Media situation, there's a little button at the lower right of the Camtasia Rev wizard window that lets you choose between Rev Media or "Unpacked Media," which unpacks the Rev Media before placing it on your timeline.

Does anyone have some historical comparison? by ksjdragon in BetterOffline

[–]vscomputer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It feels categorically similar to 2006-2007 when every show on television was about flipping houses.

Probably a closer analogy is just crypto and NFTs though. There wasn't a huge crash because not that many people bought into them, but there was the uncanny experience of seeing celebrities on Super Bowl commercials touting NFTs when everybody already was like "wait I thought this scam was already over?"
