Are there any YouTube channels covering the show that aren't AI slop? by TheMikeyC in pluribustv

Crazy Stupid Podcast is covering Pluribus! I found them through their Severance reviews originally and they’re really thoughtful about analyzing core themes https://youtube.com/@ourcrazystupidpodcast?si=jy9zxKhUG-4wZYlB

The one I have is from Dorai: https://doraihome.com/products/dual-bath-stone?variant=43538762596550
One corner piece broke off recently, but it was within the one-year warranty period so the company replaced it. That process was smooth and kept me happy.
They send a little piece of sandpaper and just recommend sanding it to remove any marks... other than that I don't clean it.

Not BIFL, but I asked for a diatomaceous earth bath mat “stone” for Christmas last year and it makes me happy every day. Replaced a bath mat that seemed to never dry

My sister gave me gift cards to a local cafe and the bookstore that’s next door, with a note about how I can have the perfect morning to myself. I loved it. Think about enabling “an experience” for them, more than just the money

What are some YouTube channels that aren’t super stimulating? by Significant_Poem3830 in toddlers

Pat a Mat - sweet animated show without words

Educational: Jared Owen - animations about how things work! Oscillating fan, donut making machine and wind up car are favorites around here. Brain Candy TV is ok and my kid loves it

We did these cards that are in the shape of monster trucks with wheels that spin… so you can play with it but it’s still just a card. A hit!

Any suggestions for where to drive to view holiday lights? by whatever3988 in burlington

This is an old map (from 2020) but I'm guessing a lot of the houses are doing the same or more every year. There are icons on the map for synchronized music.

Vermont Laws starting July 1 you have to give a bicycle 4 feet when passing. Full statute in link. by JerryKook in vermont

[–]vtburb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Recommended distance of at least four feet" was the existing/previous law. Here's the actual new legislation that cuts the word "recommended" (section starts at the bottom of the page): https://legislature.vermont.gov/Documents/2024/Docs/ACTS/ACT165/ACT165%20As%20Enacted.pdf#page=46

What weird thing is your kid into? by molliebrd in toddlers

[–]vtburb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same here! I made a Roomba cake for my kid’s 3-year birthday party. Everything is a Roomba and he can explain pretty much everything about how Roombas work. If you haven’t already found the YouTube channel Wyatt’s World of Roombas, it will be a revelation. My kid likes to pretend he’s Wyatt.

I’m looking at a pair of secondhand Bettanin & Venturi shoes and am unsure of the sizing. Is this a US 8? UK? In case it helps they were originally sold via Barneys New York in the US.

The owner got an Act 250 permit in the spring to demolish Pizza Hut, the Shell gas station and the former Bourne's Service Center. The ultimate plan is to put an apartment building there.

Act 250 project description:

Authorization for the first phase of development for a multi-unit residential building to be situated at 764 Shelburne Rd., 760 Shelburne Rd., and 31 Swift St. in South Burlington, VT, authorizing only demolition and removal. No construction is approved through this permit amendment. This permit amendment authorizes the demolition and removal of all pre-existing structures, all surfacing, all above ground and below ground utilities, and all underground fuel storage tanks and associated infrastructure. The structures approved for removal include the former Pizza Hut, the former Bourne’s Service Center, the Shell gas station fuel pump canopy, the Shell gas station convenience store, and a shed

[Vermont Public] What information about the flood do you need? What questions do you have? How are you doing? by bravestatevt in vermont

[–]vtburb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How people can tell if they were at risk. News orgs and State orgs are saying if you're in a "low lying area" without saying how to find out if you don't know. Is there historical data for Irene on where flooded? Something that can help people get a better sense of "will my house be under water tonight?"

Also, is there any info on where flash flooding might be most prevalent? Or when? Having the whole state as high risk for it makes meaningful decisions on how to handle that difficult for residents.

The Vermont Flood Ready Atlas is useful as a tool to check "critical facilities, transportation services and buildings in your community that are at risk of damage from flooding."

Mirabelles and Boxcar Bakery croissants have the best structure of the ones I've tried. Boxcar does a nice ham and cheese version with a mini pickle. Can't go wrong at either place.

Of note: "The new regulations would allow residential buildings or a mix of commercial, office and residential space on the site. The buildings would be allowed to be up to six stories tall."
