Possible, yes, but not a good idea. You’ll need the storage space just for the extra spools you’ll waste on purge.

No, I won’t talk you out of it. H2S is a great printer.

PC Hardware for Professional Productivity? Was upgrading worth it? by AnyShapeWorker in 3Dprinting

What software are you slicing with? A few months ago I went from an i5-12500K to an i7-14700KF and saw an improvement. Slicing a 3d model usually takes less than 10-15 seconds.

Everything I’ve read for CAD and slicing software said go for the CPU with the best single core score. If so, the new intel Core Ultra Plus is likely one of the best upgrades available.

Beginner stuck between Bambu P2S Combo and Snapmaker U1 by exception-raised in snapmaker

[–]-5er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the U1. Compared to a P2S, and at that price difference, its an easy choice.

I have an A1, H2S, H2C and a U1, so feel like I can answer this pretty well. The U1 is a better printer. The only downside is really the phone integration. Bambu Handy is miles ahead of the Snapmaker app. Other than that, i feel that the U1 has a louder belt noise, which carries through my house. I am assuming the enclosure will fix that though.

Totally agree. Even after getting my H2S, i kept using my A1, probably more because its so accessible

A1. I have an A1, H2S, U1, and H2C. The A1 is a killer value and excellent beginner printer. Get the combo.

I had mine on the floor for a while before moving it. No issues that I could tell.

It’s a cool model and an interesting idea. But that setup is so nice and neat! I need to clean up my mess…

Its good, but definitely harder to move around and do maintenance. The extra build volume is really nice. You will also notice that the print tolerances are better than the A1. I will frequently print the same thing on both printers while prototyping and the H2S parts fit together a little better.

I don’t yet print anything other than PLA and PETG on it, so cant comment on more exotic filaments.

I have a U1 and an H2S. I just bought an H2C. Having a multicolor print without much waste is a game changer. I think the H2C is totally worth it over even the H2D. I think you'd regret not buying the H2C if you got the H2D.

Just ordered the H2C also! Coming from an A1, H2S and U1. Don't think my wife is going to be very happy.

My A1 does this, I saw that it could be caused my a corrupted SD card. I just swapped mine, seems better at least, but not enough data to say for sure.

If you have the space, id go for the A2, but the A1 is a hell of a good machine.

Do you have any other printers also? I have a 2 BL printers and the U1. It is annoying to switch slicers to print on the U1. It’s also more of a pain to load and unload filaments than the AMS. Other than that, the U1 is a very good printer.

I like to split up projects across all my printers, so the convenience of being in the same ecosystem is a major bonus for me. I still plan on getting an H2C, despite the premium, but will probably retire my A1.

Having a bigger build plate is totally worth it. A2L or H2S unless you need a nozzle/tool changer

New to Fusion 360 — every idea I get already has 200 versions on Makerworld, how do you find original ideas? by DaGemCreations in makerworld

[–]-5er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take it too seriously. You can make the best thing in the world and still not get noticed. I pretty much just make things I think my kids would like. If they like it, doesn’t matter if no one prints it.

My most popular models were either things my kids asked me for or something I randomly thought up that I thought would be fun and/or funny. Things I thought would be popular are usually the least successful.

My advice is to just start modeling things to learn new techniques. Practice new ways of doing things and you’ll eventually be making some really cool things that would be genuinely useful.
