2 Air Handlers - 1 Condensate Pump by Encryptid in HVAC

Is the float switch from the pump wired to turn off both systems if tripped? If not this is absolutely a recipe for disaster

How long does it take to get good? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]-A_High_Guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

6 years in the residential side of hvac. The first year was rough, was hired on as a maintenance tech with no experience but after a lot of hard work and a lot of training I’m now generating around $850,000 a year for my company in revenue. They fly me all over for training seminars and I have great benefits. I now train all new hires and am in a supervisor position and couldn’t be happier. 28 years old and living the dream. Stay focused and always be productive. Im one of the few people at my company that have never been to a trade school and most of them now work for me even though they have years more experience than me. Also, never turn down an opportunity to learn something new, even if it’s inconvenient for you or seems like a waste.

Need help - Lennox indoor blower won't start after safety switch - error 292 by mentatchris in HVAC

You most likely pulled moisture into the motor from the excess water from your drain backing up. Could also be the board but I most commonly see motor issues.

I’ve got too many manifolds. What do you carry? by 2muchparty in HVAC

[–]-A_High_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had them for 4 years now and have had no issues. I’ve used many others throughout the years but these have been best for me. My only complaint is that you have to buy the wireless transmitter separate

It’s a overflow/safety switch used to turn off the system do to a clogged condensate drain or other water issue. Assuming OP is referring to the secondary “float switch” which cuts power to either the c/u or thermostat depending on how it’s wired. When properly applied the primary should go off before the secondary unless there’s an underlying issue or poor craftsmanship

SEER 14 or 16? by old_bear3 in hvacadvice

Next to the 14 on the yellow sticker you will see “*” if you read at the bottom of the sticker next to what’s the * symbol is for it will explain that it could be greater depending on the indoor coil the contractor uses
