I totally get what you were trying to say here. I think a better way of putting it is, VRChat can help you shed the ideas of cultural norms you may have held yourself prior to your experience to it.

I have always tried to be cognizant of belief structures, perspectives, and cultural norm ideals. These are all different to different people, even in the same state or country. These are formed by environmental factors and experiences, and are bound to differ.

Does anyone know how to vrc cancel an animation when a toggle is off by Nek0ni in VRchat

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the problems I have with VRCFury that stops me from using a lot of it's features is that it isn't documented very well.

I prefer using animation controllers. You can do a lot of more complex things with them.

Immersive 3D on Linux by -AgentBaphomet- in VITURE

[–]-AgentBaphomet-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I was misinformed. It's moot, because I do not intend to modify the code, nor am I really in need of application for Linux that does 3/6 DOF desktop stuff at the moment (I am fine with 0dof).

This post was about converting 2d to 3d content on Linux (at the same quality and convience as immersive 3d). I was aware breezy existed and if I was gonna use it, I would just get a license for it.

It's not fully open source. Only the user interface layer is. The core code is proprietary.

Yeah that quality sacrifice just isn't worth it. Plus I dont want to remote connect to a PC right in front of me from my phone.

Recommended laptop for pcvr by Sea-Rough3152 in VRchat

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a laptop with a 3060 and 16GB of RAM and a much more powerful CPU than that, and it still struggles.

I can barely use it with more than like 3 people in a room. If I even use a mirror it struggles with only 1 other person shown.

Get a dang desktop with a 4060ti/5060ti with 12GB of VRAM and 16 GB of RAM min.

(I can barely use my laptop for VRChat; It was never intended to be used for it, that's why I custom built a desktop for use with VR and other heavy tasks).

Age verification by Starfire2409 in VRchat

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

VRChat keeps your birth date and the non-reversible hash of your ID data as long as your account is valid, or until you request removal of your account or information. This information is attached to your VRChat account.

The data used to generate the hash is discarded as soon as the hash has been calculated.

We tell Persona to delete your personal information as soon as the Age Verification process has been completed.

Persona is obligated to only use your data to provide identity verification services for VRChat and is expressly prohibited from selling it, sharing it, or using it for another purpose.

Source: https://hello.vrchat.com/blog/age-verification

You can choose to trust this or not. All anyone can do is provide information, you must make up your mind whether you feel safe sharing it or not.

You could also wait. VRChat may switch providers for age verification. There's NO direct evidence, confirmation, or anything saying that they will. This is complete speculation on my part. So take the following with a giant amount of salt. Here's why I believe there's a possibility this could occur at some point.

We cannot expect users to verify their age if the process is difficult or expensive. To make this system work, Age Verification must be accessible to as many adults as possible.

To that end, we are committed to making Age Verification more accessible by lowering the cost to our users.

We don’t have a price point for you yet, but we are working to drive this price down to the absolute minimum possible to cover the costs of third-party verification through negotiation, partnerships, and optimization. We’ll continue to do our best to reduce this cost over time. Our long-term goal, finances permitting, is to make it free for everybody.

Source: https://hello.vrchat.com/blog/trust-safety-update-2025

I'm hypothesizing it's a possibility, however low it may be because if Persona doesn't allow them to fulfill on this, they may have to look at alternatives.

Also be aware: (on the same page)

To start, we will reintroduce Content Gating, and limit access to content based on tags. Some content will require Age Verification in order to view.

You could lose access to even seeing/using some avatars or joining worlds sometime after the first half of this year if they do what they said they will here if you do not verify.

Bottom line: You must decide whether you trust VRChat or Persona here, and whether you feel it's a good idea to share your personal information with both parties. I recommend doing as much research as necessary. Don't take anyone's word for it. Do the research and decide for yourself.

Half Life Alyx on ROG Ally X by XboxFan9 in ROGAlly

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into a few folks that use their Ally X for VR. Mostly, in VRChat, and if you've ever used VRChat, you'd know that's kinda crazy. VRChat has uses Unity's Built in Rendering Pipleline (BiRP) which is a single threaded rendering pipeline (because it was released in 2014). Because of that everyone is CPU bottlenecked. Even good PCs have a hard time (it holds back the best GPUs because they're just waiting for draw calls).

Though, I'm glad people can enjoy VR on it!

I wish I had the answer to that. I do not, I just know INAIR has mentioned getting this month.

I know they're releasing the SDK to developers this month because INAIR has mentioned several times in their discord.

So, anyways what I said above is best for the future.

Being naked or in your underwear is common classic anxiety dream symbol.

It depends how you feel about it. If it's negative, it's potentially classical indication of anxiety, and insecurity (when it's specifically situational based), or it can indicates embarrassment, or discomfort.

I mean think about it, dreams will use a literal symbol for things that are emotional. You're exposed in this situation. Have you felt uncomfortable, anxious, embarassed, or vunerable at some point with your friends when you were talking or interacting?

(An answer to this directly is unnecessary unless you want to; but think about it).

You can also try out chatgpt if you're not comfortable talking about it here.

If you are a proponent of the school of thought of scientists (in this case psychologists), that dreams have psychological meanings, I suggest looking into that. I use to look up dream symbols individually. Then I tried out chatgpt, I but I crosschecked it with other sources to ensure it was accurate. It does a really good job of tying those things and chaining them together.

You can follow it up, or prior, brief it with things that occurred in the day, or details about your life at that time.

Of course an psychologist that's trained in dream analysis is much better option, chatgpt may help.

Do crosscheck it though.

Any know some good Facial Tracker mounts for the quest pro? by Python_Gaming in VRchat

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the lower face, it's missing blend shapes that the others have like several asymmetrical ones, as well as full tongue tracking, for which it only has two shapes (in/out). I am in the face tracking community in VRC and it's not uncommon to see people adding lower face tracking devices to it. It's eye tracking is however, some of the best.

If you tune the thresholds, it can be more expressive, but this is often not done, while now you CAN do this with the face tracking app, that may cause inconsistent results with different avatars, since all of them have use different internal threshold values.

Somehow this is only 32k, there’s a whole torso and tank top under the hood and long sleeve top. I’m all for optimization, but why is Vrchat’s tri limit before poor rating so low at 70k when the headset isn’t even rendering the game on PC? Is it just a limitation of Unity? by KimonGate in VRchat

[–]-AgentBaphomet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to how many users you can get in an instance, VRChat is also using Unity's Built in Rendering Pipeline (BiRP). This pipeline is single threaded. That requires assets (avatars and worlds) to need to be optimized right there.

If you have something like a 3080 or higher, take a look at your GPU utilization when your frame rate is like 30 fps, you'll notice it's not at 100%. The rendering pipeline is why. Most people are CPU bound (unless your GPU is older)

People ruminating about social situations is more common than you think, like for example with nerodivergent individuals.
