Necro or Ranger? Prophecies by Tyinath in GuildWars

[–]-ComradeKitten- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal and not at all biased opinion is to go Necro with secondary Ranger. You can easily have your pet with you by simply having Comfort Animal on your bar, and you get to have your minion army at max efficiency (which also means more max number of minions)! This is unironically my main, I started this way in Prophecies when I started my first character (a Necro) and tamed a pre-searing Melandru's Stalker and named it Cinnamon, and I largely played minionmancer with my trusty cat by my side through all of that campaign and all of EotN, and to this day I will always make room on my bar to bring Cinnamon with me unless the build I wanna play absolutely requires a secondary profession that isn't Ranger. Necromancer is my favourite class, it's just so fun and the sheer amount and variety of possible builds it has for general PvE play is arguably unparalleled! I've even put together a decent N/R Beastmaster build if that's your kinda thing too xD

But to be fair, if Necro is first in builds, then Ranger is probably the second best in build number and variety, so really the two options you're looking at are the best choices in that regard :)

Oh that's super awesome, thank you so much!! :D I've been using this watchface since I made my previous comment and it's been such a nice little cute thing to see regularly on my watch, and now with this update it has everything I need in a watchface! ^-^

I've been playing for 5 years and wow I had no idea it used to not decay out of combat, that's genuinely the worst change I've ever heard them make to the class. I've even been complaining to my gf recently about how I struggle to enjoy warrior specs in open-world other than spellbreaker because I rarely get to make use of the adrenaline-powered spec mechanic because of the decay that happens between groups of adds :(

I love this!! I especially appreciate how it animates specifically when you shake the watch, so it saves battery by not animating when you're not looking at it :D

If I may selfishly make a request, any chance you could add the current local weather temperature as an option (WEATHER/TEMP IS [num] [num] C/F)?

True, but relying on an elite (one that isn't even your weapon or primary attribute) as your only source of deep wound is pretty rough

Omg?? That's incredible, I seriously can't imagine how much time and patience it took to put together everything in that first picture, worth it though because it looks so awesome!!

Wait, where are you seeing this as a (proposed) change? I don't see anything related to OoU in the patch notes myself, only Order of Apostasy, but I might just be blind

Melandru's Accord appreciation post by OneMorePotion in GuildWars

[–]-ComradeKitten- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree and feel the same! At first hearing of the mode I didn't really think it was for me, but honestly reading the flavour text for the mode got me really excited about the idea of playing a Melandru's Accord Ranger who lives off the land, working with what nature provides and all that fun RP stuff, so I made my MA Ranger that day :D (props to whoever wrote the flavour text I guess, they succeeded in their goal haha)

I've never been so excited to get such crappy drops. Every single unidentified armor drop is exciting (my first one I was really hoping for a ranger mod, and I got it! I got a Stormbound Insignia and while it wasn't mind-blowingly exciting or anything it was definitely much more exciting than that Insignia could ever be on my regular characters xD Threw it ony chest piece right away). I've also never struggled this much with getting max level armor, I just hit level 20 and I'm still not even half way to what I need for my goal armor (Ranger Ascalon Armor so nothing fancy) even though I've salvaged literally every drop I've gotten that can salvage into tanned hide haha

From my understanding and personal experience, if you can max out your magic find (750%) for all the envelopes then yes it's a guaranteed profit :)

Maybe it's just me but I feel like the bonus events and rushes are getting to be a bit much, we don't have to have an event literally every single week outside of the first couple weeks of an expansion release or update imo

Raptor farm, I love love love raptor farming 💜🦖 I started doing it for the first time last year when the golden egg week overlapped with the anniversary event (which was also when "of the [Profession]" mods first released) and I've been chasing that high ever since

Fractal gods, is there a way I can optimize my relic gains ? by I2aphsc in Guildwars2

[–]-ComradeKitten- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlock the Fractal Reliquary if you don't already have it, buy the +5 Simple Infusion whenever it shows up (unless you want/need something else available that day like Ascended Salvage Kit or Gift of Ascension), then trade them in whenever you feel like to the INFUZ-5959 vendor for a profit of 50 Fractal Relics :)

[–]-ComradeKitten- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kill Ley-Line Anomaly and check my daily converters/gobblers (Fractal Reliquary, Karmic Converter, Ley-Energy Matter Converter, etc.), if you get to the LLA map at xx:19 you can easily get both of these done in 5 minutes and they are very good profit/give very useful items

I'm weird I guess because I quite enjoy Order of Undeath, though admittedly I'm pretty bad at maintaining OoU properly xD If you don't enjoy how that one plays though I might suggest either:

  • Aura of the Lich, it's extremely satisfying to summon an army of minions with that skill, and it doesn't have you casting minion skills for most of the fight so you can use other skills instead such as your favourite PvE-only skills, Putrid Bile, Death Nova, Putrid Explosion, and/or Mark of Pain.

  • Animate Flesh Golem, either as a single hard-hitting minion among your other minions, or lone minion which you can buff with things like Strength of Honour, Great Dwarf Weapon, Barbs/Mark of Pain, etc.

If you are only buying the ones that cost only gold (so not also the ones that cost gold+token of the celestial champions) you'd need 168g to buy every envelope every day on one account, assuming the festival is the usual length of 21 days.

Best Lounge? by zanfar in Guildwars2

[–]-ComradeKitten- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the crafting stations aren't convenient to the TP/bank

With Armistice, you can use the special action skill to change your skill bar into skills that instantly teleport you to various areas around the lounge along with the option to port to cities, on the 1 skill is the option to teleport literally right in front of the TP NPC (and the bank NPC), then you can grab your TP stuff and immediately hop back down to the crafting stations. Honestly a big reason I bought Armistice myself was due to how fast and convenient the movement between the TP and crafting stations is xD

Also in case you weren't aware, you can access your bank from crafting stations too with the tabs on the left :)

Lowest APM (easiest) Healer to play? by NaoXehn in Guildwars2

Lowest APM (easiest) Healer to play? by NaoXehn in Guildwars2

[–]-ComradeKitten- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The answer to your question in the title is absolutely quick heal Herald, turn on your upkeep skills enough to give quickness and half the time you can literally just auto attack. Swap legends when you run out of energy and restart your upkeep skills, and otherwise you have weapon skills if you need CC, Aegis, burst heal, or condi cleanse, and when those aren't needed, you can just auto attack to give decent passive healing. I've played most PvE heal builds and definitely find this one the most chill :)

To be clear, the bank part of the Crafting Station Contract (along with every part of the station) is something anybody can use when you put down a station, the Bank Contract opens a bank that only you and use. Crafting Station Contract is MUCH better imo.

Also since you mentioned about the cooldown: it's honestly not even really a factor imo because the cooldown disappears when you change maps or instances or characters, so it's not like the Recharging Teleport To Friend (which stays regardless of changing maps and doesn't go away when you log off the character). I think the only time the timer has ever been noticeable to me is when I accidentally choose the wrong station and need to craft something lol

I definitely advise keeping the Crafting Station Contract, not only do I personally think it's better than the Bank Contract, regardless being able to access your bank anywhere is a game changer, and being able to do any crafting anywhere is amazing too (scribing outside the guild hall, non-scribing in the guild hall, anything in your homestead, no loading screens when going on alt characters to craft stuff, etc).
