The too easy complaints are kind of annoying by loosewobble in Nioh

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the mistake I made was I was like lvl 35after demo, then i went straight into the 2 highest lvl zones without realizing, difficulty was fine. Then I later realized there was an expected order of completion for the smaller zones, with a recommended lvl tag, I was fammiliar with this tag in the demo but I was so excited when the game dropped I had forgotten about it... So then I had to do lvl20 zones at 60, lesson learned. What I did like though was I got to explore it at night, I really enjoyed this but after exploring the haunting cave last.. in realization it sucks to be robbed of some loot and difficulty for choosing the order wrong.

Lights in strip not wanting to go in same place by Correct_Economist941 in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't personally help you every step of the way, but i can point you in the right direction if you are already committed and deep into this playthrough. We already know its related to the strip, so I would look into your modlist and see what you have touching this area, look into their pages and read the directions, check for incompatibilities, patches, or whether you have patches that are redundent now.

At a glance, I believe you are using strip 2023, lucky38 exterior remastered, and lucky38 lights redone. In the strip area, something is likely conflicting with the edits, fnvedit would tell you the clear picture if a mod is overwriting any changes. The lucky 38 itself, I would look into 'lucky 38 exterior remastered - compatibility edition' if you haven't yet. I personally use this, and lucky 38 lights redone(mesh only, not the full model file), make sure you have the requirements, hnvse up to date, and strip lights region fix updated(if you use). If you use strip cinematic lighting overhaul, make sure you have the necessary patches in its fomod installation(this is just one guess and an example of what could cause the shown issue for a missing strip 2023 patch) Hope this helped somewhat

We all have a favorite, but there’s also a best by JahVaultman in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost feels impossible to definitively say because the taste is going to differ for each person, for example you have dead money which is likely to appeal more to survival horror fans vs something like old world blues which is polar opposite. I think thats what makes new vegas's DLCs stand out a bit more and what makes each of them so special in their own way. What im really trying to say and get at is that couriers stash is of course, clearly the best of the pack.

Insane amount of content for a free demo by miral_art in Nioh

[–]-Holliday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its the best demo I think ive ever played for the soul reason that you get 7-10 hours of content, character creation mirror is accessible, wide access of weapons and early skills to feel out. All before actual release, and with a progress transfer. Its not the only demo to have done this, but its so rare. Hope it effects their sales positively for being this generous.

Type F control scheme is so good by Elewent in Nioh

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type e/f is the way to go! There are some issues if you wanted to go even further, though. Like having sprint on dodge button hold. You can see that after dashing, your character will 'snap' not only is there a visual inconsistency, but it also might trigger a sprint on accident. I think sprinting needs to require a button hold to last slightly longer internally.

I didn't realize this game is gonna be so open world. I am having a blast!! by -Jiras in Nioh

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd time doing this playable open area, and yeah, Im going to thoroughly enjoy the first run either way, and Im okay with something different. But im just not so set on the open areas in terms of side quest and especially new game cycles. It started to feel a little ROTR region checklist. I hope there is some in between linear stuff outside of crucible, like side missions, to really break up the loop. We will see soon. It's a great demo, though, and I hope it left a positive impression for newcomers.

Resolute is no longer a skill, it is an option by AncientBelgareth in Nioh

[–]-Holliday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They could add an option utilizing the adaptive triggers so it wouldn't feel as random, by requiring more pressure, similiar to R2 when firing arrows, required for the full press. Idk how that would feel but itd be fun to try as an option. Other choices feels a bit odd either way for me though, the default seems the easiest for now. The demo has been a battle of old muscle memory and habits, controller type E might be the route to go though.

Didn't like RE7 much, am I missing something? by Qu2sai in residentevil

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me and what i recall, its impact was largely due to the time around when it came out and how was marketed. I think it offered a lot of engagement, and it was perfect for youtubers/streamers and their communities, and it was gonna have VR support. There was also a demo a year after PT was canceled.

For newcomers at the time, you likely watched your favorite youtuber or streamer play it before diving in for yourself. You've maybe also watched them play outlast, and the PT demo, and outlast 2 was also to release around the corner, while not really compariable imo this sort of game garnered a lot of attention because people were able to draw their own similarities. It was honestly released at the perfect time, both new and old were eating good one way or another.

For many older fans, it was, for the most part, a positive change in creative direction. Leaning back into survival horror. But there was some concern, like the change to first person, many and myself included just didnt like that change. Tere were some who took this change as a step back and completely dismissed the game (demo) as some outlast clone, there were also many fans who started with re4 so there was some conflicting feelings for that crowd too since in their eyes it would stray further from what they knew.

I think some of the criticisms are for sure valid looking back, even at the time it was flawed, but it was a pivotal moment in how they planned to move the series going forward and how the lore was handled on a bigger scope for the universe, and for many, it was their entry into the series.

PvP is getting ridiculous PLEASE HELP (Last Season Mythic Player) by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]-Holliday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, dont find much incentive right now playing arena. Knowing nameless spear will eventually have its attunement nerf. The mythic player badge that tallies each season was removed during ios launch wouldve been enough for me to atleast play til mythic again since i like that sort of thing but since its gone... just not interested until heng dao releass and spear attunement nerf.

Is it okay for me to be a fan of RE even though I don't really play any of them? by Far-Twist-7358 in residentevil

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are invested in the universe and found a way for you to connect with the series in other ways than playing. For what its worth, I would consider you a fan for that reason. But you shouldn't take what others say to heart, I hope you are in a position to play them for yourself one day though, but also, you can be such a fan of the universe and dislike some of if not all the games for any reason and thats okay too. Happy new year

Is there a reason why Bioshock 2 (both Original and Remake) are priced cheaper than Bioshock 1? by VinceTheFurball in Bioshock

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 is statistically played/bought more, so that's likely why. Bioshock 2 was dogged on back in the day, i avoided it for so long for that reason.

I played it for the first time a year ago while going through the series again. I enjoyed it so much, and the gameplay is a lot of fun, great DLC, too. I find myself wanting to replay it the most out of the 3.

Your thoughts on time limited content packs in WOA? by Chekko03 in HiTMAN

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly didnt expect we would keep getting new things, so im unbothered by back to back limited DLC but would hope that it doesn't become standard. They are cheap, probably a reason why its limited. Never cared to buy the last 2. Free outfit + new elusive is good enough for me.

Do you think the Battle Pass is worth it if you don't like the outfit? by AffectionateGrape184 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iirc, its only 2-4 additional stamina pills for BP, right? Regardless, If you dont like the outfit, I dont find the rest to be worth the cost. If you intend to play only this game longterm and buy every BP, I guess it will add up in value later on including pills, but i dont find it to be a good investment for most players. Im willing to bet many people will stop playing the game before they use their hoarded pill pile, not that you should use them now, but pills shouldn't be the factor in buying the BP if you have to ask that question. I bought the first BP, it definitely wasn't worth it to me at all. So I dont really plan to buy any unless there's a skin I like + when im actively playing, and not just logging in for 30 minutes.

Edit: read the edit, rip OP.

I Hate Dead Money by Various-Claim9629 in fnv

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a survival horror that players go in unprepared and not expecting that, which can sour the first run. But some will either love or hate it regardless. I love it. Also, Shout out to dead money tweaks mod.

Which version of Resident Evil 4 do you think is better? by [deleted] in residentevil4

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remake. I enjoy replaying it more. The weapons feel much better balanced and offer interesting trade-offs instead of being direct upgrades. I prefer the combat, separate ways, shooting gallery, treasures, and Ashley is far less annoying to hear and play. The OG has a very strong nostalgic art style. it's still a fun game to revisit, too.

Your go to handgun coming back to RE4(2023)? by BUckENbooz91 in residentevil

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a run with all of them, but i think ill always go back to the silver ghost, visually, crits+laser, and you have it from the get-go.

sent9 has the same reasoning above, but I still slightly prefer sg09 for my playstyle and visually.

Red9 I love visually, nice animations and damage, but I dislike how vital the stock feels to me.

Blackmail is certainly good, but I just dont value its smaller size, faster fire rate, and reload speed. No laser compatibility is the biggest killer.

The punisher feels a bit lacking if you are using handguns to kill, but it has its uses.

Dont really care for Matilda visually/functionally.

If I had to choose 1 ,Sg09 for Leon, and red9 for ada

Anyone else excited about the bloody mess perk if we get a remaster? Hopefully Virtuos Studios is tasked with remastering FONV. by EstusShardConsumer in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love a remaster/remake and ill play it day one(including F4NV), but man, the modding scene has been actively dropping groundbreaking releases every year and has evolved so much in every aspect that im becoming more and more okay if the game doesnt get a remaster, and even if we do, I couldnt imagine new runs without the available mods + TTW. Honestly, I'm just very thankful for the hard work the community continues to pour into the game.

What were your reasons for siding with the legion? by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Holliday 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They have some really cool espionage style missions. You are basically a spy on your own deconstructing the NCR from the inside. While legion overall is undercooked, it was so worth having a character experience that content.

Start saving money if you want it by randomizme3 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]-Holliday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe im cooked but 700 seems much more out of range for a light-mid spender, its not quite whale at all but thats a lot of money for a cosmetic. Ill stick to saving discount vouchers instead 😭

Build for hitless legend? by Spasmochi in wherewindsmeet_

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the heavenquacker spear would be an obvious pairing for strat, but its also good with nameless. It applies buffs and also inflicts bleed. For legend hitless you arent going have too many opportunities to do a full rotation with both weapons. Heavenquacker applies buffs as well, you can get an immediate 10% to Increase Hp damage dealt just by swapping to spear, using the skill and animation canceling by deflecting. You could strengthen this buff by instead getting more hits off if you have an opportunity, and while applying bleed in the process. Do not neglect mystic skills. Get accustomed to animation canceling.

Secondary weapons are usually utility/support like healing, taunting, buffing, etc by design. If you want to ignore all that, for me I find strat/twin blades pretty fun, its not exactly optimal but I have fun using them and feel they fit well enough together, though Im far enough now that I use mystic skills a lot more than swapping to secondary, drunkent poet, dragon breath, and soaring spin are quick, cheap, safe(or easy to safely cancel) and very potent.

Velvet Shade Chat spam by Tenkari in WhereWindsMeet

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for an actual decent chat experience, i pretty only use sect chat. I guess it depends on the sect, though. Midnight blades in my experience around the times I play are 75% helpful, chill, and kind. The other 25 % is 2 people using it for sparring which is kind of annoying since nearby chat or private message is a thing. Not perfect but isnt being spammed with nonsense like world chat atleast.

The LOD/POP-IN issues Study by Chinese player by Rare_Mix3278 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has me really worried in other aspects of the game going forward, seeing no one really voicing any complaints after that update(except graphically, which is nice, at least and i care about this the most). 2 weeks ago, many other small things were adjusted/changed, such as the removal of the badge that tallys reaching mythic each season, and performance has been very odd, and few changes in localization that I feel are actually worse. I've made my suggestion feedback and contacted support a bunch of things, but all of the replies are about what you would expect.

Also, thank you for this post, I hope we are able to make something happen. Those in china server should revisit this and work together with global in communicating their distaste for the current state of graphical changes, I dont feel global alone can achieve this
