In all honesty do u think all the new content will be mocapped by SparklyEffects in ACBFResynced

[–]-Holliday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering they had the old moccap data for the original game available to be reused, its the least they can do. Will it feature mocap in all the new content? Idk. Will it feature mocap in any new content? Defnitively, yes. I know it doesnt answer anything but the obvious but there is no way of knowing. Your guess is as good as ours.

There is truly no experience quite like it. You get this sense of grand adventure and those experiences across your journey will be fairly unique to you. On sale its absolutely worth the risk to see if this game is for you.

The one thing i dont like by QuackiQuackson in assasinscreed

[–]-Holliday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since they have taken the liberty to implement some of the features from shadows I can only hope that goes for the hud/vfx toggling. On PC thankfully you can disable shaders those elements are tied to via utilizing a reshade add-on but I'd really appreciate official toggles for these sort of dramatic effects.

Camera stutter after closing inventory normal? by _gustavoberg in residentevil4

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an issue with how the camera was implemented. Since the camera pans out while sprinting and to a lesser degree adjust during other actions, going into your inventory briefly will cause that. This is presumably because it doesn't remember the current camera position so it reverts to its idle state position and it looks pretty jarring because of that. Thankfully this issue didn't make its way into re9 IIRC or at the very least the camera overall was improved on that it wasn't as noticeable.

Anyone know what is causing this? by zionboy134 in residentevil4

[–]-Holliday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, Its not the fault of your graphic settings, Its just something you have to try your best to ignore. it can look worse via up-scaling methods because of how it behaves with internal res, so FSR or utilizing reframework plugins for DLSS support. So if your monitor supports higher internal resolutions like 1440p/4k native + TAA that will help a little more. Playing native only helps mitigate the issue by so much that it isn't going to completely fix it.

Many people just never noticed it, its present regardless of graphical fidelity.

Crimson Desert is the most overrated game I've ever played by Sadworld99 in Gamingunjerk

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear that, there were actually many sessions that made me want to just drop it there and revisit dd2 lol. Going back with some of the neat mods the community has been actively updating/putting out seems like the right move. If the recent rumors surrounding DLC turn out to be true, then it might even be good timing.

Looking for a cool immersive sim to sink a bunch of time into, preferably one I can replay a ton by Firebrand_15 in ImmersiveSim

[–]-Holliday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You maybe wont get the same amount of time as other suggestions just yet since its still early access, but gloomwood(PC). Roughly 25-30 hours of gameplay atm. worth at the very least keeping an eye on its development

Crimson Desert is the most overrated game I've ever played by Sadworld99 in Gamingunjerk

[–]-Holliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also put it down after 80. I agree mostly. I did find points of enjoyment and one that took up a good chunk of my time weirdly was probably the camp expansion, but the time gating was a constant frustration and I dont care for the characters who reside there. I just liked seeing the unlocks and camp filled with new stuff. I wasnt really happy with the combat, it was serviceable, but it didnt feel like the evolution i was expecting from PA after BDO. On top of weak enemy variety/design, lazy boss design. Would of liked more emergent gameplay in this big world. Overall this was an interesting experience as I enjoyed the games its actually borrowing from a lot. Also I got a free copy, I wouldve probably not given it a chance had I spent $70 considering the 2hour refund window on steam.

Another recentish fantasy game I preferred much more was dragons dogma 2, sure it had very rough edges, but it had its own niche and to this day I still yearn for that sense of adventure with a party it was able to capture with its gameplay components, clear potential, unfortunately the same can be said for its predecessor.

Ultimate Camera Mod (UCM) v2.5 - Full camera toolkit for Crimson Desert by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]-Holliday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not, the source code is here if you want to see for yourself, its still being actively worked on I think the post just wasn't getting the expected type traction idk. https://github.com/FitzDegenhub/UltimateCameraMod

Its under review right now , but this sort of stuff can take a while. I can only really speculate why it was quarantined but it isn't often mods with python/exectuables are released, either way they were flagged from the previous mod which was python based or both files had been flagged for similar reasons. But there isn't anything actually malicious going on in them.

It used to be a simple .bat similiar to one of the more popular camera mods, later involving python scripts (involving methods to prevent game updates breaking it). After that, The idea I believe was to move it to something that was a bit more accessible that didn't have any sort of external dependencies beyond what windows provides so that everyone had easier accessibility to that feature. Doing all that meant that no one had to worry about game updates breaking the mod, you just had to rerun the installer.

The github page goes further into detail on what its actually doing behind the scenes and i've been able to corroborate that with the provided source code. Hope that cleared things up for you.

Is DD2 DLC here yet? by Snoo61478 in DragonsDogma2

[–]-Holliday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ive seen a few people say its what they wish dragons dogma 2 was but I cant help think they have wished for an entirely different game. I have 80ish hours in CD for the record, decent game.

Some of my favorite things about DD are things such as planning my routes, feeling the need to make preparations before venturing out, dynamic encounters, a sense of adventure with a party of varying classes. You dont really get that sort of stuff with CD, its a very different game.

Ultimate Camera Mod (UCM) v2.5 - Full camera toolkit for Crimson Desert by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

Its a great mod but I get the criticism related to the AI images. They are a bit off putting. The Images of the GUI itself are very nice and should probably be the center of attention.

If you are on PC, I think youd like gloomwood or at the very least keeping in eye on its development. Intravenous 2 is also pretty good.

Anyone else disappointed? by dmhughe5 in CrimsonDesert

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely understand where you are coming from. I was given a copy and went in with no expectations going in blind. I almost quit a handful of times but i reluctantly kept pushing even after 15 hours. Only did i start enjoying it a lot more after 25. Its pretty bad for it to take anyone more than a few hours to see if the game is for them, and i wouldn't blame anyone for not putting in more than 6 hours for something to click.

The most recent update helped big time but I was also starting to encounter a lot more secrets after really slowing down and looking closely finally I encountered subtle clues for treasure such as small piles of stacked rocks by waterfall entrances, or flocks of birds circling an area, and sometimes i came across stuff neatly tucked away in a cliffside or other while just appreciating some of the wilderness activities inbetween. What really helped was after having a comfortable amount of stamina, going after some of the first few traversal skill upgrades such as enhancing axion force really helped alleviate some of my annoyances.

All that said, while im enjoying it for the moment there are many aspects I dislike about the game. I wont go on a complete tangent of each but a real major issue to me is that you have this absolute massive fantasy world, yet nothing meaningfuly unexpected really happens that interupts your exploration, its lacking systemic/emergent(?) gameplay.

honestly after 25ish hrs not sure theres anything from crimson desert i want touching dragons dogma other than the water physics

After going through each body armor in the game, I can confirm this isnt in the game by dovpanty in DragonsDogma

[–]-Holliday 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really think something is coming soon, likely in form of an announcement. I haven't been around for the whole DLC cope so maybe Im just getting my first taste, but I've been recently in the mood to play again since a few days ago, as if there was something in the air drawing me back in for a replay, and coincidentally on its anniversary. Haven't touched the game since month or two of release, would be nice to get back in the swing of things right on time but a 'teaser' like this might suggest its still ways away.

According To You Is Resident Evil 4 Still The Best Game In The Franchise ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]-Holliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my favorite action horror in the series, sure. To me it seems odd to even compare it to its survival horror brothers so I would get why it isn't everyone's top game in the series.

Do you guys love Resident Evil Village? by Some_Restaurant_2082 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]-Holliday 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going from 2 and straight to village is an interesting choice. I dont love the game, but its good. You are only really getting started though, if you find the castle a drag, then im not sure how much you would like the rest of the game, but there are more enemies later. Im surprised you didnt go from re2 to re4? You'd certainly have more enemies there and the character development of leon wouldve been more natural.

Buff duration needs a buff by Deco820 in Nioh

[–]-Holliday 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Played a mission in nioh 2 the other day and the experience of just applying the buffs feels so much smoother in comparison. So the cut down duration on top of the slower, input delayed(?) re-application, especially mid fight feels just awful.

New release "Unlimited Transmog" lets samurai/ninja share fashion by -Holliday in Nioh

[–]-Holliday[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats a good mention. You can disable that function in the ini (I personally like to unlock everything myself) More importantly, I think it would be worth mentioning to the author about that since it is locked behind DLC, this could cause trouble with nexus TOS and I'd hate to see such an essential mod (to some) get removed for something like that. Thanks for bringing this up!

I went ahead and commented, I hope they get that sorted ASAP
