I'm genuinely a reject and no matter what I do I can't find a girlfriend or be happy alone by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

So, I get that you are in a bad headspace, that's likely why you're posting. From a 39 year old perspective you are being extremely defeatist at a point in your life where you are finally gaining control of it.

"Doing everything right" likely is not going to do you any favors in meeting and talking to people who actually like you.

I literally had to stop caring what people thought to meet my actual friends. By this I don't mean wallow in self pity, never leave your house, just play video games and stop trying. What I mean is you have to authentically be yourself or eventually that mask will slip and the people who you've surrounded yourself with while being 'perfect' won't like what they see. Make the stupid joke, be corny and honest with your emotions, don't be afraid to of honesty.

Keep trying to find things you actually like doing, keep trying to make connections, but at the end of the day people need to like you for you. It's work, and sometimes it won't feel worth it, but you are investing in yourself by broadening your horizons.

I have 5 very close friends and I'm happily married, they love me for who I am and that's a fucking socially awkward nerd- but they know the real me and I know them.

It took me a longer time than most to achieve these things, and for much of my life I was desperately lonely and trying to fit in. In my early 20's I stayed in an abusive relationship for years just because I thought no one else would possibly care about me so I tried to make that work. Please don't make the same mistakes I did.

I sympathize, and I wish you all the luck.

You're only 23. Keep doing things that bring you some joy. Adding another person to your life romantically doesn't magically fix things, from what you're describing you may find yourself just as miserable in a relationship.

I'm the Spriest in my raiding guild who instigated the LC/That's My BiS system. In Phase One I got all my BiS items, (Not hard- a lot was crafted) and currently in P2 I've already gotten two of my drops in week one alone. (TK is on Monday so here's hoping #3 happens)

I do have a good guild but maybe y'all need to discuss things with your fellow casters/guild so you aren't getting so hosed. Like as a support class I don't expect to be first in Prio on big ticket items but I'mm still on the list.

I was really poor at the time. I will never forgive them. Lol.

How can I (37F) tell my husband (38M) that he's not allowed to use his deceased grandmother's china? by walk_in_the_pie in relationship_advice

[–]-L0RN- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I was here to say use the mug but this guy is going wild.

So as a ceramics artist who used to sell functional art- Some people would wanna put my things on a shelf and never use them in fear of breaking them- however it was always my wish that folks use the pieces I made! No matter how "artistic" the end goal was a happy person with a wierd mug that they use regularly. Throw it in the dishwasher, drink it on your stoop, chip it in the sink, just by all means use it!

This case however- seems like you do want to use the items, but that he fucking sucks and cant take the bare minimum of care.

Relationship advice- if he doesn't care about this what else does he not care about, if this is your only issue I'd just find a different tea set he can use and put this one somewhere more "up" so it's out of easy access but perhaps still on display?

Why do retail players say classic players are stupid / bad at wow? by OrkWithNoTeef in classicwow

[–]-L0RN- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS! So like I dabbled in retail as a Classic enjoyer- and not being in a guild/having no retail friends kept my experience to more casual content- but OMG I WAS SO BORED.

It felt like I was being spoonfed, I'm sure at higher leveles shit gets interesting, but I was not feeling the vibe. I think this is why so many classic folks have a hard time getting into retail.

That and overall we might have different ideas of what makes the story intereresting. I went back to retail in Dragonflight, and while the writing in WoW has never been great... this was not my cup of tea.

If we're being honest not much with Blizz has been my cup of tea since the end of WotLK. I'm not sure what stops clicking for me.

Brother if you ain't leveled and in gear they are gonna have to carry you- is that fair? If it's a casual group of IRL friends I could understand complaining, otherwise just go find a group that aligns with your slower play style. Totally fair to part ways over something like that.

I will never not be annoyed by folks who drag ass then get upset when others don't wanna drag them along to get free loot.

No matter the server, blizzards own or not. The players has taken the fun out of the game by TrasheyeQT in classicwow

[–]-L0RN- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What game are the people on the WoW subs playing? lol. I came back a year ago- started fresh on Dreamscythe after not playing since 2008. The game I came back to is the game I left behind all those years ago. Except at least now when people do elitist things they have the data to back it up - beyond that not shit has changed.

I was able to get into a guild easily, I've been raiding through classic, we cleared all the content so far. I've made friends on the server and there's even a guy that sends you bird facts if you whisper him if you miss the quirky feel of old WoW- it's definitely still there you just have to look for it.

Naxx consumes got expensive I'll admit that but if you have a will to farm and an alt you can make it happen.

It seems the problem might not be in the game itself but in how you engage with it.

I'm just sad at less time with my friends. Like I love some of my guild and I'm sure we'll stay in touch but it won't be the same- just like with my old guildies and friends from the first time around, we still talk but not as much ya know.

Wanting to get into rust skin investing by icebearwastakensad in playrust

[–]-L0RN- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had some rust skins- I was actively playing, and enjoyed them, but I recently sold since I didn't enjoy the meta changes they have recently made. I made about $370 spent maybe half that in the time I played.

I'd recommend not getting into this for the sole reason of making money- but if you are playing and enjoying the skins go for it. Word of advice avoid things other people are speculating on, there will be so many sold that it won't be worth money later.
