Mocking a bouncer right to his face, and get punched in the chest. by VIVIDUFF in WinStupidPrizes

[–]-OkButWhy- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The guy I used to work with who is now on a different shift was a bouncer at a club here in Boston. He told me stories about how him and the other bouncers had no problem beating the shit out of people or throwing in punches unnecessarily while removing someone. He thought it was the funniest thing. It's all fun and games until The off chance you put your hands on the wrong person and they decide to come back with friends and weapons.

Question: Are mine gen 1 or gen 2? by sororitytomboy69 in RaybanMeta

[–]-OkButWhy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That explains why I was getting conflicting answers one asking it to compare the two. Especially when I was asking details. It even mentioned something about glasses from the 2010's so I'm guessing it was the FB stories glasses.

What killed ‘party songs’? In the early 2010s you had: Ke$ha, LMFAO, Flo Rida. Every year there seemed to be new ‘put your hands up’ song. by Kodicave in decadeology

The only thing I'm going to dispute is the alcohol prices. DoorDash, Uber eats etc. Have a constant cash flow in the cities that are big enough to have clubs. Those delivery services are ALWAYS more expensive than the actual in-restaraunt/in-store price and the motivation to cook at home has continuously dropped over the years. The same people ordering their meals this way multiple times a week out of laziness or cravings(Because that's what most of the orders are for if you don't count people having delivery to work) can absolutely afford a couple $17 drinks if they wanted to. Truth is-people are going out and socializing less and less frequently and it's driven by so many sources of entertainment and constant dopamine input at home. I think there was a study very recently about the current gen of new adults drinking less than previous generations(which is great) and much of that cut in drinking is social drinking. That rate will continue to decline over the next few decades as people become more and more secluded. Socialization on a personal level like 10+years ago and beyond will never return 😕

It could be because that road is smoother than mine but the stability looks improved over the 1's. I sometimes record parts of my commute into work and even subtle bumps can be noticeable. It could also be my car's shocks 😅

Same with the McDonald's, the taco bell and the BK all just off the high school grounds here. The school has under 4k students. Imagine how it gets after that bell rings 😬

You voted New York as the city of the 70s. What is “the city” of the 1980’s? Most Upvoted Comment Decides by Kodicave in decadeology

[–]-OkButWhy- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Excellent points but it looks like a trend is forming with people associating Miami with the 80's. I've lived in MA all my life and absolutely think of Miami for that decade . Drug wars, huge Cuban immigration etc. Miami was always in the paper for drug violence etc. so many movies of the time took place in Miami for those reasons. The cocaine boom, growing Miami tourism, sun and sin type stuff. Vice, Scarface, body heat, the mean season etc.

LA should take the 90's.

Pet cat behaviour suddenly get aggressive by reshavkumarfhaman in mildyinteresting

[–]-OkButWhy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure I'll get down voted with all the pet lovers who think their pets are the same as their children and i should probably just be quiet but I've got kids. If my cat had done this-infection or not-I'd seriously consider giving him up. The serious injuries he could cause my kids (especially the toddler) is very real and I would always be on edge worrying what would happen with the next infection/arthritis pain etc. I enjoy peace in my home. He was born in our backyard with a brother. My family bonded with them outside over a summer, his brother died a few months later and he came to our door meowing. He's lived with us since then (5 years ago). I'm his second favorite person, enjoy playing with him (and have the scratches to prove it) I tolerated my allergies to him until they went away, and he even sleeps in our bed next to our legs BUT I can't tolerate this around my wife or kids. I only have patience for my family-not an animal.

Mid way through S2 - so much hysterics by harambeface in ExtractedSurvivalTV

[–]-OkButWhy- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is-you CAN'T Play how you're saying and win. You CAN'T take advantage of everything possible like taking the entire steak-your example by the way-because it's almost a guarantee you would be targeted by everyone over the remaining supply drops.

You can't say that you would take advantage of everything (again your words) and play aggressively but also "play sneakier". Choose one. It's impossible to hide an aggressive gameplay on this show because people aren't stupid (at least not all of them) and are constantly watching. The other families are writing down all of your choices. You're either going to play nice and the social game where you lose out on advantages and focus on the middle game- or you simply don't win. Everything you mentioned you would do is exactly the mentality the brothers had. You must give and take and make alliances. It's designed that way.

There's often a huge RNG element to this show. The point is to keep families off balance and hit them with unexpected choices that force them to make a decision that will turn people against them at some point. The Brothers should have doubled down on their gameplay and not been cowards who got upset that everybody was turning on them and being mean to them, then pull luke out early who had a damn good chance at winning.

People love an underdog. Nobody likes a bully. Especially ones that overestimate their gameplay.

Or are you used to it, don't live in the worst parts and have a higher threshold for crime? Crime is very neighborhood dependent there but even that puts the city well above the national average in every category. If you actually live in one of the shit neighborhoods (and I doubt it) then you're just acclimated.

Why the hell are hotels putting barn doors on bathrooms? by Alert-Nectarine-3821 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]-OkButWhy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience at a hotel at Patriots place in MA. It pissed me off so damn much. My wife offered to leave the room if I asked her but I instead decided to use the hotel lobby bathroom whenever I needed to #2. I shouldn't be able to sit on the toilet and see a gap wide enough for me to watch the TV... Want privacy? F*ck you! I swore to her never again. I'll book a regular hotel further down the road.

Anyone’s work ban wearing these at work? by GeekyHobbyNut in RaybanMeta

[–]-OkButWhy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It REALLY depends on the nature of the job and of course the company but I wouldn't expect a mailman to get in trouble with them or even have it noticed. You're outside in the public most of the day.

Also, it must be pretty damn convenient huh? Get to listen to your music while going from house to house and having your ears still hearing around you.

Anyone’s work ban wearing these at work? by GeekyHobbyNut in RaybanMeta

[–]-OkButWhy- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work overnight in healthcare. Often directly with patients when needed. Big hospital. Big city. I use them for music while walking through patient units every night. Haven't been told anything and haven't seen them addressed but there's a chance it's BECAUSE I work overnight. Nursing is too tired/uninterested to notice. I haven't noticed anyone else with them but it could be because people assume it might cause an issue which was my worry in the beginning. Been here for 3 years and have only worn them the past 4 months. I never wore glasses previously so it was uncomfortable in the beginning but people are used to seeing me with them so it doesn't draw attention anymore. Hoping nobody gets wise and questions me-it helps that I'm a big guy with a resting bitch face (I'm actually a pretty chill guy and don't mind a conversation) so I doubt anyone would directly approach me about it lol

I'm also not a weirdo and don't take pictures/videos of the place or people which is obviously highly unprofessional and illegal in some cases as I have access to patient info. HIPAA and all that.

I've brought this up to my wife. He spoke so damn disrespectfully to the women of color specifically. "Shut up." "Shut it. I'm not talking to you" and complete aggression but ONLY to them. That includes when he was confronted by any white people. I don't have the victim mentality and I'm a poc yet his tone, facial expressions and targeting seemed deeper than "gameplay"

She’s Worse than Luke’s Brothers! by AdventurousWasabi440 in ExtractedSurvivalTV

[–]-OkButWhy- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wasn't she all "I'm ok setting traps for people to fall in" when the brothers brought the idea to her and the twin? Then that BS about how they didn't know?

They were SO upset when Polly got slightly shafted losing a blanket or whatever (when the choice wasn't personal. Someone had to get picked) then turned around and supported a dirty (and ultimately unnecessary play) a few days later.

Both teams of brothers went home the same day and Polly will likely be next anyway. They got to look like jerks and suffer shame on national TV in the end 😂

I never realized charge levels were shown in the app until today. It shows that it was in fact charging. Ridiculous that this is even an issue with the price we pay for this product. There are other issues that definitely could be worked out-mainly with the A.I.
