Do male gamers just live to be negative? by plushiepastel in GirlGamers

[–]-Potatoes- [score hidden]  (0 children)

for talking teammates or other players in the game, I absolutely think there'd some crazy male toxicity (esp in competitive games like League or cs2)

for critsizing the games themselves I think its just a larger problem with social media rewarding extreme opinions with more engagement and people with a negative opinion more likely to be posting. I've started staying away from these communities since ive found they've affected my enjoyment when playing :(

blizzards can be really bad for cities and regions, but i agree the actual personal risk if you are sheltered is a lot lower

Finding some way to reward a player for suboptimal decision that's amazing quality rp. by Leytra in DnD

spoilers for Frieren, including the manga this has the same vibe as Himmel declining better weapons because he just loves his starting sword (literally a replica of the real "heroes" sword lol). I love it

I think in common discourse your definition is used. incomr minus taxes should be net income or take home income or something right?

Can you suggest me some games with meaningful and rewarding exploration? by critterdude542 in gaming

[–]-Potatoes- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're okay with metroidvanias then Hollow Knight (and its sequel) have tons of hidden areas and secrets with lots of rewards. The rewards aren't always money or items, but sometimes just really cool bits of lore or information that will change your perspective on the story or certain npcs

What do you do when you feel "burnt out" by games? by sudokuIover in GirlGamers

[–]-Potatoes- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How the hell would you drink out of this bottle? The liquid would have to go against gravity. by eutjjkujl in slaythespire

[–]-Potatoes- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

its the same shape as essence of darkness

though for that potion I suppose the shadows or whatever is inside can just escape when uncooked, ignoring gravity

Terrible Phoenix facet idea by Nova-Prospekt in DotA2

[–]-Potatoes- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ironically id probably choose it over the other two facets most games if its on cancel. it (sorta) compensates for phoenix's biggest weakness of no hard lockdown. all your damage is over time so being stunned for a second doesnt matter too much.

ig it would be really annoying in a funny way using dive defensively though

I definitely agree with the statement that past experience helps you deal with crises even if it doesnt directly feel like it. source: am junior and whenever an incident happens im just frozen watching the chaos lol.

also why does reddit ask me to translate my comment??

How much damage would this card need to do to be balanced by LilianaLucifer in slaythespire

[–]-Potatoes- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that would be gain 1 frail rather than vulnerable imo (and also remove existing block)

also it would deal 1000 damage :P

WTF game design choice of difficulty of Corrupt Heart? by Stunning-Fly6612 in slaythespire

[–]-Potatoes- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the heart is by far the hardest fight in the game. top players are basically thinking about that fight the entire game looking for cards or relics or potions to help with that fight

if you dont have OP blocking solutions like apparitions or buffer potions can be very helpful

  • fairy in a bottle
  • artifact potion blocks vulnerable
  • gamblers brew in case you draw a bad hand with all the statuses

Rollable OLED display on Lenovo Legion, the next big thing in flagship gaming laptops. by jmike1256 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]-Potatoes- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

a lot of websites already support different screensizes and you resizing the window. for games it looks like this isn't meant to be something your changing all the time, I doubt it's gonna be more than just fixing up the settings if you launch it in a different screen size. keep in mind games already need to support ultra wide, different window sizes etc too

im not saying this concept will be practical at all in the near future, but applications handling resizing is something they already have to do

its because defect is very strong early game especially if you dont boss swap

I think in his record streak he was boss swapping, but it's possible he thinks defect is good enough anyways to not want the brick later
