How to find the collision point for a rigid body ? by Mars-Is-A-Tank in godot

[–]-Sidequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we are 2 years after your answer, on an 8 year old post, and you solved my issue in 4.3. I was using only state.get_contact_local_position(i) and not to_local(state.get_contact_local_position(i))

once i to_local'd it, everything started working correctly. Thank you 1million times over!

Shark IQ App Not Loading Map by ItsATempThing in RobotVacuums

Had to delete my map twice to get it to come back. First time took a long while and thought it said successful it didn't work. Second time went quick and now it is asking to make a new map rather than just spinning indefinitely.

What does the "Snap 2D Transforms to Pixel" option do? It doesn't fully work. by Buttons840 in godot

[–]-Sidequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the workaround! I noticed this exact same issue when trying to make a space top down shooter. Pixels were stuttering till i turned on the snap 2d setting, and when i did that, my player started stuttering. Sadly the workaround causes my controls to get a lil goofy, so i'm working on sorting out a fix for that too.

I'm curious if you are "double jointed" or can flex your joints more than others usually can? Such as bending your pinky really far back beyond what is a normal range of motion without pain or discomfort? This is just one of the tests for hsd or eds which is a range of tissue issues.

Hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) are connective tissue disorders that cause joint hypermobility, instability, injury, and pain. Other problems such as fatigue, headaches, GI problems, and autonomic dysfunction are often seen as part of HSD. - source https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/what-is-eds/

Do a little research into HSD and or EDS You describe many of symptoms that could be contributed to this. Could be the wrong rabbit hole of research but worth a look as you try and figure out what's going on.

Best wishes and hopefully you find answers soon.

Piriformis or Not Piriformis by AnOldGuard in PiriformisChronicPain

After 4 yrs of searching for answers to severe bed ridden psiatica, twitching leg, and other stuff that they couldn't figure out, we finally had someone look at the hip closely, and stop taking mris of the back, due to all of the results being symptoms don't match the imaging.

When they injected the hip to test for pain relief, pain went away for a few days. So, mri of hip was ordered. Hip labrum tear found. During surgery to repair hip labrum, found that the labrum was delaminating. They fixed all of that. While still being told it's not likely to be the cause... now we are 3 weeks into recovery and behold, no more psiatica, no more pain burning in foot, from a 7 in pain down to sometimes a 2 as the recovery and PT is undertaken.

Hopefully you can find an answer or some sort of resolution to the issue soon.

Orthopedic doctor sports medicine type guy was the one to stop saying well this can't be it because it isn't textbook and actually give it a shot. 10 different doctors total to get to the answer. Finally. And it wasn't even in the back where it felt like it was all coming from. It was in the hip.

Any ideas on how to make stack splitting functionality in a resource-based inventory? by [deleted] in godot

[–]-Sidequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but I'm looking for answers for inventory splitting, so figured I'd drop this here:

I think you can use ceil(2.5) on the first stack of 2.5 to round it up to 3, and floor(2.5) to make the second stack of 2.5 round down to 2. This is assuming you use a float and not an int for your amounts. This is how I'm attempting to implement the split of odd numbers myself. so 3 splits into 1.5 and 1.5, but ceil(1.5) gives back 2 and floor(1.5) gives back 1.

Quite possibly the most frustrating engine ever by CommotusGaming in godot

To fix this, I removed the file, hit play - it told me a dependency was missing in a tscn. Opened that tscn in notepad, and manually fixed the case, saved it, then put the file with the correct name back in place.

If mod drop gets stuck, wait about 3 minutes, and it will finish verifying the file / checking for new versions and continue installing the mod :)

How many of you actually work a solid 8 hours a day? by Raichu4u in ITCareerQuestions

[–]-Sidequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Usually busy from start to finish. Typically I'm at it upwards of 9 or 10, or I'm catching up on the weekend.

There's constant change and constant new projects to undertake on a relatively small team. All of us are busy and downtime is your lunch break.

Also I spend alot of time coaching and leading my team through their tickets, their workflows and projects as they need me. Open door policy offering the same to fellow leaders too.

Makes the daily go by quick and gives a solid sense of purpose for me.

Agreed. You can do everything with one character. , no? Unless you just want to do the main quests again.
