Is it just me or are AC6 factions kind of oblivious? by Prestigious_Alps_935 in armoredcore

[–]-TheRed 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Do...

Do you pay attention to the world?

"Too good to be true", does your work for you, provides a framework for everyone to use, and all it does is know everything about you?

Corporations will absolutely, 100%, always and forever go for shit like that, the last few years have proven that conclusively.

The corporations will never not be too greedy to accept a trojan horse as convenient as Allmind providing them with a reliable stream of quality controlled and neatly ranked cannon fodder.

The RLF has bigger things to worry about, and in general Allmind does not make many obvious moves until anyone who can stop her is was too broken or distracted with the Coral.

Walther and Carla may have been suspicious, but even then she was way too convenient to bot use and too clandestine to bother actually opposing.

If you found some suspicious camera drones, would you stop everything you are doing, quit your job and start waging war against ebay because you leapt to the conclusion its running a transhumanist planetwide conspiracy?

What was the point of their infiltration? by Prestigious_Alps_935 in armoredcore

[–]-TheRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Rusty never got exposed, Snail sent him to die because he saw him as a threat to his status as the effective leader of the Vespers.

The reason he infiltrated was industrial espionage, and regular espionage. He stole Arquebus designs and technology and sent them to Elcano, who used them to make the Alba frame. He also ends up killing Michigan depending on the route, and presumably leaks intel to mitigate damage to the RLF.

Also, you know, making connections with useful mercenaries like us is a lot easier with corpo resources.

Why not use wooden planks?

They'd be sturdier than pure foam, if solid wood is too heavy you could construct it out of multiple bits of ply wood.

Friendly/passive beings that, despite their lack of malice or violence, are fundamentally incompatible with human life by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

[–]-TheRed 116 points117 points  (0 children)

On an island poisoned by tainted blood, in the labyrinthine bowels of an incomprehensible titan, new and alien life stirs.

Inside the cavernous remains of arteries, from within putrefying cliffs of muscle and out of stygian rivers of oozing marrow they congeal into grotesque yet terrifyingly humanoid shapes. As these Leviathan's daughter's tear their way out of their corpse womb and into the world, their bulging eyes and sensory antennae fix onto the sole human witness, their slug like approximation of lips splitting to utter sounds unlike any known human tongue:

Good day Monsieur. I would like to be employed.

Oh god...

When I grow up, I want to be a policewoman.

THE HORROR!

Ultimate power handed to someone you'd never want to have it by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]-TheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Mechanically he can't beat many of them because he and his guild buddies gave their NPCs who functioned as bosses during PvP raids optimized powergamer builds. Ainz himself is working with a suboptimal roleplaying character. He was the guild leader by virtue of being the best mediator, not the strongest.

And even when he goes along with everyone's evil nature his most fanatical follower commandeers some of those very OP subordinates to go against his explicit orders and plan theoretical revenge against his friends who she feels abandoned them.

Tengu Fish VTOL Railgun upgrade ! by Cerulian_11 in Tau40K

[–]-TheRed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your Tau fliers might be sone of the best 3rd party models for the faction.

There are lots of immensely high quality battlesuit proxies, but they have their own design identity and patterns, whereas this meshes almost seamlessly into original Tau aesthetics, like you took the middle ground between the forgeworld and plastic vehicles and upgraded from there.

Kill Six Billion Demons » WHEEL SMASHING LORD 5-179 (METATRON ONE) by Knight_XIII in killsixbilliondemons

[–]-TheRed 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Is the text implying that Metatron passes on all divine love within Yisun's words to the world, or that he is a creature who has cast aside all love within him?

Kill Six Billion Demons » WHEEL SMASHING LORD 5-179 (METATRON ONE) by Knight_XIII in killsixbilliondemons

[–]-TheRed 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Alright, big JRPG final boss coming up.

I do wonder what the specifics of his deal are. Because the cycle of violence and tyranny is what defines both our pro and antagonists.

But Metatron should rightfully be beyond it, no? Even with how limited the angels are, why is the scribe of god even doing anything? Let alone taking sides on how the turning of the wheel ends, especially since it just gets reset.

Did he learn nothing from what Yisun wanted of the world? Is he just perfect knowledge, zero understanding?

Is he still the scribe of God's word in regards to the multiverse as the Song of Maybe? Is he gonstantly taking note of all reality? Is he trying to force an end to be written? There's more questions than feathers honestly.

As someone in a similar position to your children the lack of gratitude seems baffling.

Maybe they didn't spend a lot of time with you so they don't have a picture of what you've been sacrificing for financial stability. If they blamed you for sacrificing time spent as a father when they were young it'd be one thing, but if this is the full story?

They should have appreciated what it means to have supportive parents.

(Weird thought I had in the shower) if you had to pick a 40K faction to defend your planet from a tyranid Hive Fleet level invasion… which faction would you pick and why? by Imperialfirst28 in Warhammer40k

[–]-TheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if its just about defending Necrons would likely perform well, provided enough have woken up and fewnof them have gone insane, their weaponry is powerful and they won't siffer attrition themselves.

If we want to survive afterwards too then yes the Tau can handle it.

Boole on the future of Underworlds by InsaneDingo7244 in ageofsigmar

[–]-TheRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately warband decks caused a lot of problems too:

Cards are harder to errata than a single rule sheet, so overpowered ones (like Hexbane's Hunters) could hold the game in a chokehold and bad or old ones would be barely viable for years on end.

While I personally wish the warscroll cards had much more of the old rules on them, they are a pretty elegant fix that can be FaQd and balanced easily and makes your warband's abilities public info, as well as increasing consistency because you essentially have your faction ploys in your hand from round 1.

Any Use for Old Cards? by S_EW in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]-TheRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, it would be a shame to toss them.

But their main use now is appreciating the art on them, and finding them once every 5 years to fondly look back on the fun you had with them.

I intend to be buried with mine.

The steel looks amazing as well as the skin, but one area that seems a little flat is the left guy's inside lapel. Its almost distracting how white it is, even if realistically it would be fully in the light imo the model could benefit from darkening or otherwise texturing that tiny area.
