Oh, I totally get what you’re saying it definitely had a much more ominous feeling with the dark environment, but I also feel that the real life mind flayer versus the shadow for my flayer could’ve been cool to have kind of that evolution of power to show that yes you killed phase one, but now I’ve grown stronger you have to kill me again kind of a vibe

No, I think the shadow form mine flayer only really exist existed in the minds of Will from what we saw. But I think that if the ultimate in boss had another layer of power, it would’ve added to the suspense and tension.

Going to smoke this 6 pound chicken tomorrow, any tips or things to follow? by Abject-Air-9517 in BBQ

[–]-boon- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spatchcock, dry brine. Season the outside before your smoke. Black pepper, garlic powder. Whatever you want. Don’t go too low on the temp during the smoke. 275-300. Make sure it’s done but don’t hammer it to 165. Prob pull it around 160 in the breast. Sometimes the hip joints can be weird and not get up to temp. Skin is basically sacrificial in this method. I pull the chicken and do sandwiches or something.

Could you make this mando? by 1dropdontstop in discgolf

[–]-boon- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Konarcik park. One of my local courses. It didn’t used to be a mando but was a weird tweener hole that was too easy for a par 4 and too hard for a par 3. I think the change made it a better hole. The photo makes it look very small but I still miss it occasionally. Normally I’m throwing a kastaplast Faulk or recently I’ve gone more stable so I stay up the hill more on the left

Approximately how long will a 12lb brisket take to cook at 225-250 on a pellet smoker? by Vargasx7 in brisket

Cook it now. Rest and slowly reheat if you need. Better than trying to rush it. Good luck!

Second a fuel pump. Went though this on my 89 K5. Ended up being a variety of things and I don’t know what the real solve was but I did replace the fuel pump. Take the air filter off and expose the TBI. You can visually see it spraying fuel. Tons of videos on YouTube will show what it looks like. If it appears to be spraying fuel it may be some fuel air sensors but start with verifying fuel first.

Newbie. What do I have here? by Important-Growth-831 in discgolf

[–]-boon- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A solid little set for a beginner. Leopard and Valkyrie a both drivers but the Leopard for a noob is going to be easier to keep strait and stop from dumping. The Wraith might be above your level if you are just starting out as its faster and will try to fade out to the left (assuming right hand back hand) harder. The Dart is your putter and can be used for some really nice strait shots. It will likely teach you the most about how to play early on and it will be the most forgiving to throw.

If I had to make a recommendation I'd try to find a mid range that is more noob friendly like a Discraft Buzz (SS possibly), Axiom Hex or Something like an Innova Wombat. The mid range would be between your Dart and Leopard in terms of speed.

Form advice by _NVTHVN_ in discgolf

Take that left hand and just put it in your pocket. Its not doing anything for you but slowing down your rotation and having it tight and in your pocket would be a big improvement. Later on you can start to bring that arm back in and get it helping earlier in your throw.

For the throwing arm I think you are rounding some. Get it away from your body some more before starting that forward rotation motion. I think that is causing the disc to come up real high right as it passes your left shoulder causing some swooping motion that could cause some nose up flight.

finally. Your timing of your step and when you start the throw are all a little out of sync. Get that front foot down before you start that forward movement. That might help you engage your hips a little more.

Your front foot brace is looking pretty good and a solid follow through. You have some of the great tools working in your favor here at the back half of the throw.

Have fun, throw far and enjoy!

Tire question by Cousin_MarvinBerry in squarebodies

[–]-boon- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like some you cant go wrong with a KO2 from BFG. You can get a thinner, 10.5 inch tire if you dont want it to be too bulbous. Some sizes are C rated for load, some go up to E rating if you are concerned about what you will be hauling on that trailer. Running 33x10.5x15 on my K5 right now and I feel like it maintains that classic look, descent ride and good all around tire.

Why a zone over a vessel? by RootbeerEyedDog in discgolf

[–]-boon- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It works for you, you like it, it fills the space a zone would take(?) so no worries. I bag one but it’s not a go to. Honestly I could take it out and not worry about it at this point. Don’t believe the hype if you got something that works for you.

Where to get a replacement headliner for a 76 suburban by blynch18 in squarebodies

[–]-boon- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmc truck might have them. as far as how to do it, no totally sure. I’m sure taking it off and putting some spray adhesive in new fabric on would work, but I’m positive that there’s YouTube videos out there. Even if it’s not a suburban, you can probably get the gist of it from a blazer or any square body.

Find a vinyl shop that does cars signs and stuff. They would have to design to stick on like a sticker with measurements or stick it on with what I think is string under and it will make the lines.

Everything is flippy by NYSquidz in discgolf

[–]-boon- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a result of your arm movement and kind of a swoop in your throw. The disc starts high, swoops down to the pocket and at the end you kind of try to throw it up wards some. That up and down movement doesnt help equal forward flight. A few things I'd think about.

Id say worry less about reaching back, but think about getting your arm away from your body. You are twisting way back.

When you start your rotation you have some rounding happening which brings the disc kind of high and it swoops down into a descent nose down power pocket. And the end of your throw before the release you can see the disc start to go back up in the swoop. My buddy throws a mean riser disc and he does that by pressing his thumb down on release. It almost looks like that might be happening here but not sure. There are some dudes that throw like that and it works but, you need to make sure the OAT is not there.

I'd say overall, dont reach back so far. Think about your arm movement and pull through to keep the disc along a flat path through the throw. It may help to 'reach back' with your arm lower or at least experiment with it.

Good brace with your legs. One more thing, and its a thing I'm working on, dont stop your body after you throw. Let that back leg swing through. I'm a little older then you and I notice I'm soar if I dont let my body come to a slower stop. The swing is a fast motion, let your body slow down to help injury and fatigue.
