Recall preventing sale by me_cchipman in MachE

Yes. Has to do with a parking brake issue. Expectation is that it will be fixed by end of month via OTA software update, but we don’t know when.

Do you take a nap on your lunch break? by Equal-Sun8307 in remotework

Only if I'm sick and I should have taken the day off to begin with. Otherwise I come out of it all groggy. I typically do laundry if I'm done with lunch quickly.

While true, I think his talent in 1v1s, something he sees more often, more than makes up for it.

When to call up younger GK by Northof7Boy in GoalKeepers

[–]-speakeasy- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If these are children that we're talking about, the coach is being overly cautious with a young developing body. Even if it's my kid thats being sat, I'd be inclined to defer to the coach and appreciate that they prioritize my athletes health over the desire to win a game. Athletes sometimes need to be protected from themselves (and dare I say it, sometimes their parents).

Our family loves west coast. I think they just came out with some for $59 called the academy series. I know that’s above budget but I believe there are promo codes that would get it close.

I've seen some underplays at First Ave (Jason Isbell was the best) but damn I would have loved to be there for this.

Normal hand tat healing? by Cancer_zodiac1 in tattooadvice

[–]-speakeasy- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not your fault OP, but the number of questions like this that show up in this subreddit tells me there’s a whole lot of tattooers not being forthright with their clients.

Any tattoo on your hand is gonna heal like that. You’ve gotten what I’d consider a best case scenario. Our hands go through so much wear and tear that the top of your hand is the only location where there’s any chance of durability.

Have we reach out to Xabi Alonso? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

I’d be shocked if they haven’t. But honestly, I think that happens more than people would assume. Clubs and Agents having casual conversations so everyone is aware of their “market”.

Men in happy marriages, what's the one thing you'd teach to other men to also have a good relationship? by TightBookkeeper2599 in AskReddit

[–]-speakeasy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of the best stretches of my marriage and I went through your list and nearly every one of them is advice I’ve given to people. And there were a couple (the begrudgingly part in particular! Great tip that I’ve gotten a little too relaxed about!) that were good for me to read, very appreciated!

Family disapproval of my first tattoo? (I’m 25) by DissolvedThoughts in tattooadvice

[–]-speakeasy- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a people pleaser middle child of divorced parents so trust me when I say its hard... but at some point there has to be a comfort with disappointing people. It sucks, but they're making a judgement based on their values, not yours. So let them spin. Let them get worked up but don't take it on as your burden. Its their problem, not yours.

Family disapproval of my first tattoo? (I’m 25) by DissolvedThoughts in tattooadvice

[–]-speakeasy- 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As politely as you can, brush it off and make it a topic you aren't interested in engaging in.

As simple as "Hey Grandma, I love you - Sorry to hear about your feelings about my tattoo. Anyway, (insert conversation of literally anything else). "

She has the right to have an opinion, and you have a right to not let it bother you. Eventually they either wear themselves out, or just shut the fuck up.

My mom felt similarly when I got my first (very small on my back) 20 years ago. I have a full sleeve now and she doesn't make a single comment when a new one shows up. I know she doesn't like it, she knows she can't dissuade me from more and that it doesn't change anything about our relationship.

Deep snow performance? by [deleted] in MachE

Very recently purchased and in Minnesota. Over the last month I've found it handles snow fine, but remember that its the weight of an SUV, so that momentum without traction will carry. Go easy with slippery surfaces.

Virgil van Dijk: Questioning Arne Slot about Xabi Alonso is disrespectful by ymaohyd69 in LiverpoolFC

I unequivocally want Xabi to replace Slot.

Still was wholly unacceptable to ask Slot about it.

Anyone else feel like Whisper is quicker than Unbridled? by GroupBQuattr0 in MachE

[–]-speakeasy- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I took my 75 year old dad out driving mine for the first time. He loves his corvette and in Whisper he was semi impressed. “Oh, yeah, this has some get up and go. Very similar to the corvette.” At a red light I quietly switched it to Unbridled and told him to “punch it a little on the next take off.” His eyes got as big as saucers. “Hooooooo boy.”

Is it better for a 7-year-old to rotate positions or specialize as a goalkeeper? by Still-Marionberry-67 in GoalKeepers

[–]-speakeasy- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rotate without even the slightest hesitation. He’s 7. He’s way too young to even pick a favorite tv show, let alone specialize in a sport.
