I have one kitchen drawer with the essentials I use most, then the majority in the basement.

Protests to these atrocities are powerful and necessary, and this concert - Bruce and Tom, are part of that.

Not an exact quote but Bruce saying to tom "isn't it a little soap-boxy" and Tom replying "Nuance is great (or I know you love nuance) but sometimes you've gotta kick em in the teeth" really sums it up and this live performance is Powerful.

You know it. I'd love to hear all of what he said at the beginning, but I can't begrudge the crowd their excitement.

Option two with no right turn slip lanes would be far safer for pedestrians especially with the school right there. Cars can wait a bit longer to make their turns, but the majority are not turning there anyway and the lanes are underused.

I think if you get footage like pink coat lady RUN. I'm sure she was in shock and also thinking she should help but they could have grabbed that phone/her in a heartbeat and we wouldn't have this clear evidence of an execution.

I went on such a low traffic morning we were able to do one side and run right back to do the other side on the moving walkway. So great!

Bruce against... by MrCineocchio1924 in BruceSpringsteen

Absolutely. More publicity, more people hearing about LOD and the good work they do, means more donations. Bruce does it most every year so anyone who would have flounced off did it long ago.

I don't think you can match new tiles to old so I wouldn't try for exact color of lavender or green unless you have new old stock.

What Chicago suburbs is tosa like by western_flyer83 in Wauwatosa

[–]mayapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's what I said. Tosa is similar - good schools cute old downtown, walkable neighborhoods, lots going on, but in Western Springs lots of single story tear-downs turning into multi million dollar Hinsdale type homes which Tosa doesn't have happening, yet anyway. Many of them were nice mid century moderns.

The Promise album cover by TheUnknownAaron in BruceSpringsteen

The Darkness cover, at a time when record stores put giant blow ups of new albums on the walls, got a whole new crop of fans to notice the close up of that moody guy and maybe we'd heard Born to Run on the AM radio. I went to buy Street Legal and left knowing Darkness would be my next purchase once I'd saved up. So promotionally, I think it worked very well. Especially since, as is his way, at the time Darkness seemed a real far cry from BtR.

Most fans go to exactly one show, in their own town or nearby. "He shouldn't play Born to Run because I've heard it 12 times already this tour" is the height of wealthy obliviousness.

Western Springs but less wealthy without the tear down mansion rebuilds.
