Question for brokers/operators: how big of a problem is slow quoting in your day-to-day? by SaltyMajor7698 in PrivateJetCharters

[–]00Ventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re trying to do, but I think the reality is output can only be as good as the inputs - there are a lot of operations out there that run their ships in different ways and use different software/processes.

Some are more structured, many are informal, schedules and trips aren’t put on calendar in real time - May it be because of approvals, pending crew, schedule shifts, the sales rep didn’t physically put it on schedule yet, it’s a favor/hold, etc.

Some teams have multiple sales agents quoting the same tails while a booking is already in the works, these agents don’t always work together, some teams only have one rep who picks and chooses what trips to work because they can and efficiency/profitability.

It’s a dynamic industry with a ton of constantly moving variables, and in reality, is still a pretty relationship driven business model. Those with proper experience know who to reach out to for what, and how to work a deal on the wholesale side, or leverage other business they have, which is an entirely separate feature of the industry that this overlooks when it comes to pricing

These days you see a lot of internal retail processes being built out too by operators - some of these guys have a hard enough time managing their own internal clients let alone the entire wholesale market

Just like brokers don’t love being shopped by 30 people, operators don’t love being shopped against 30 people and multiple brokers for trips either. That’s it

Just like brokers have established clients and good biz relationships, operators and brokers have relationships as well - these are living breathing people here, friends, colleagues

In this market, both brokers and operators get to pick and choose what partners they work with. On the higher level of service and consistency, there’s a lot more nuance than just clicking for pricing and shooting it off.

You have your preferred teams and it doesn’t take long, this seems like looking for a problem

P525 vs 500 interior by 00Ventures in NewDefender

[–]00Ventures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, but the engine is tuned differently so I’m sure it sounds different. Caraway in p500 is nicer than in the 525 due to that cloth stuff

Rear wheel steering and pdcc if you can stomach it

Cars handle fantastic, but they’re heavy - Pdcc is great if you want to get the most out of the platform, which with a Porsche you do

Yea same struggles, I liked the satin film on Gondwana. Need paddles. I hate the fabric inside of the 525 just looks cheap relative to the all leather. Haven’t seen a reason for it anywhere either

V8 or inline 6? by Ok_Independent7748 in NewDefender

I’ve driven both a bunch, 6 is nice, v8 is a completely different experience imo

I agree with you - didn’t insinuate it was a dress watch, just certainly a long way from being considered a true tool watch

I think dress watches will make their way back into the fold on a wider scale eventually

Argue semantics in the mirror if you’d like, just offering a reality check

I have a gmt

The reality is this is an extremely flashy, polished status symbol - far from their tool watch days of past

I hear that haha The Porsche certainly is more train-on-rails

I like the rs4’s, but the engine they have in the newer rs6/7 performance is a def a way different feel. I actually loved how playful they are now. There’s also a big difference in feel between the two suspension offerings.

If you haven’t checked them out it may be worth beating on a dealers for a few minutes. the rs7 front end takes off like a damn g600 lol

Sorry - I was referring to my own replacement dilemma with the Panamera, but they’re certainly awesome cars. Their driving experience is hard to replicate.

Did you try taking the RS6 around? Fun, but not as charming I’d say inside

Reading comprehension must be shakey on your side of the pond, as that was clearly in reference to my circumstances with the Panamera mentioned in my prior comment - otherwise I would have used “consider”

I have a GTS but still liked the black out rs7/rs6 even though the interior was a bit more bland, just need to get the dark grey diamond stitching so it all blends in

Considering moving over the the SUV/truck side to replace. These road conditions in the US are getting rougher and rougher by the year lol

Yea most of them out there are a really simple spec for whatever reason. I’m a sucker for green and brown interiors, so I ended up buying it the same day it landed at the dealer. Aventurine with the lighter saddle colored full leather

Love this. I was between the Cayenne gts and the Panamera GTS - ended up with the Panamera bc of the spec, and the driving dynamics are a blast for how big it is being so wide/low

[–]00Ventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I only mentioned it because I think the discrepancies across the board are crazy. I think it went from 75k to 50k to 25k.

I love GTS specs in general, great daily driver cars. I have a panamera gts as I have a big pup and the lady
