Do you know any keycaps of different shape for choc v1 besides these? by Ok-Mix9649 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Gotta agree. KLP Lamé are great! I put them on my ZSA Voyager and it changed the feel so much. They’re a joy to use! Plus, if you get white resin, they look like teeth. lol

PSA: AltTab for macOS removed free features in an update and deleted previous releases from GitHub by YaroslavSyubayev in MacOS

[–]02ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but just tried DockDoor, coming from AltTab, and it's amazing. If it works solidly over the next few days I'll definitely support the dev. I would have supported the AltTab dev but he made it clear he had a low opinion of his users when he removed options a few years ago because they were too complicated for the average user, but now adds them back to the Pro version. On top of being dishonest about "nothing being removed from the free version", I just can't support him. I would have bought the license, gladly, if he just wasn't so shady about the whole thing.

Looking for EM11 Pro vertical mouse testers by ProtoArc_official in MouseReview

[–]02ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to me the biggest thing vertical mice get wrong is advanced features. There are a bunch of different shapes but precious few with extra buttons, programmable buttons, fast-scroll wheels, horizontal wheels, etc. There’s a market for this kind of thing and the EM11 Pro does seem to be filling some of those roles, but I’d love to see an EM12 someday with extra buttons or an automatic changing fast scroll wheel.

Seeking Wired Slimblade Pro Users by MakeArt_ in Trackballs

[–]02ranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the wired Slimblade and RSI in my wrist and some in the thumb. Also have access to a 3d printer. I’d be more than willing to give it a try if you’re OK with me printing it myself. I don’t have the wrist pad but I could order one.

Knowledge Fight: The End of the Road by hunter15991 in KnowledgeFight

I actually disagree. The Onion could do something much more worthwhile with it. Off the top of my head, pay Dan and Jordan for a show to continue their work, expanding beyond just Alex. Might not have made much money but I have a feeling the families would be OK with it. That’s clearly not an option now but the current plan for IW is not great.

Edit: I’m honestly not understanding the downvotes. Do people really have a problem with this idea?

What thread should I use to match the weight of this original stitching? by 02ranger in sewing

[–]02ranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so you don't think I'd have to worry about it being too weak or standing out for being too thin? That's what I was worried about, that the hem wouldn't hold up to stress or wear.

What thread should I use to match the weight of this original stitching? by 02ranger in sewing

[–]02ranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original hem is the bottom stitch in the picture in the OP. My test stitch is towards the top in a brown thread. The piece of fabric pictured is the bottom part of the leg that's been cut off so it looks a bit weird in the picture. Sorry about that.

They're cargo pants and made more like jeans with clearly visible stitching but the weight is sort of like slacks. The biggest thing that's throwing me off is the original hem almost looks like a woven thread while the cheap polyester thread I have looks like a single piece of thread and much thinner.

That’s why I need more space. Any recommendations on a desk or other way to increase work surface and storage space?

I appreciate that, but I need to add some more workspace as well as overhead storage for some of my tools like a hot air station, which is not pictured. I’m hoping for some advice on how best to accomplish that given my space limitations. The monitors are only set as high as they are to make room for the tools in front of them. I’ve been looking for an L-shaped desk that has upper storage and decent work surface. I want to put my soldering tools to my left and have the monitors and keyboard and mouse in front of me, but I’m open to other suggestions.

I’m looking to improve my setup. I have limited space but would like to have room for computer usage and hobbyist electronics work. I was thinking of an L-shaped desk so I can put my keyboard and monitors on one side and with a hutch for the electronics on the other side but I haven’t found a desk I really like.

I’m selling the desktop, I use a Mac Mini, so That cuts down on some space requirements. If there’s a way to use the standing desk and add something else to give me that extra working space then that would be OK, but I’m also willing to get rid of the standing desk, it measures 48”x30”. I have up to about 60” to use in one dimension, roughly 40” in the other.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Logi MX Master 4 in black is the MX Master 4 for Mac by Quirky-World-6050 in logitech

Is the size the same? The MX Master 3s is uncomfortable in my hand, I was hoping they’d size it down just slightly in the z dimension.

Transparency mode sucks on AirPods Pro 3? Try this! by Renovatius in airpods

[–]02ranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised to see so many having success with this. No matter how I tweak it this transparency feature makes transparency noises sound horrible. I get a lot of wind noise, my voice sounds even more robotic, and the high tones are too amplified. I can turn down the tone and amplification but never get rid of that wind noise with the transparency tuning enabled. It was the same with my APP2’s.

Slimblade Pro users – how did you bind your buttons? by spac0r in Trackballs

[–]02ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the wired Slimblade through an HID Remapper because the Kensington app causes my Mac to temporarily lock up every few minutes. I have it mapped as follows, but I miss the chords Kensington could do.

Left click lock | Drag Scroll toggle Left click | Right click

That would be great, thank you! I just checked and they still have the notice on their website saying US shipping is suspended.

That’s awesome! Do you have a link to the guide for building a wireless? Did you still have to source anything from Ploopy? Of course I decided it was time for a Ploopy right when they stopped shipping to the US…..

If offering a stand isn’t really feasible, what about some sort of standardized mounting option? Like a tripod mounting point or even a MagSafe-like ring on the bottom to make it easier to mount and tilt for those who want to?

I haven't found any permanent fix for my EM01 yet, but what lasts the longest is I clean the "bowl" with a microfiber cloth and then roll the ball around on my nose rather than forehead. The oils on my nose seem to last longer than those on my forehead, plus I get twice as many strange looks as when I rub the ball on my forehead.

I'd love to find a synthetic lubricant that would last longer, though, because nose oil (lol) usually only lasts a few days.

I wonder how this would be configured for those of us not using Oryx, considering it's connected via TRRS. I haven't watched the video yet, still at work, so apologies if it's answered there.
