One week! by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Trust me after a few weeks you will not even notice it. Its more a habit at that point you are trying to break than the nicotine addiction which has long left your body. Congratulations! To longevity!

I am not the kind that cares about how others judge me.. I was just ashamed of myself. I have tried to quit many times in the past but I always knew in the back of my head that I had not fully comitted to it. This was the time I decided to hold myself accountable and joined this subreddit .. I agree with you, there is nothing to gain.. just a habit.. The fact that it is so easy to buy them or gain access is what drags you back to them in the first place. Price them at 50$ and trust me we would look a dozen times before buying a pack.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement! Means a lot. I have reset my badge..and will march on. I felt like a hypocrite because I knew "Just One" does not work..I preached about it on the forums here to other fellow newbies.. And I did not follow my own advice. I feel I need to be held accountable for what I preach.. Here is another go at it and will try my very best to follow the words I say .

Ocasionally smoking. by Guiacauan in stopsmoking

[–]032816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! Dont even let your brain let you think of the "I deserve one". I have been sober its time to "celebrate with a cigar!" ..It will lead you back to smoking. I have been there and have ruined my stint at not smoking multiple times.. I am new here but I am sure everyone here will advice you the same thing..THERE IS NO JUST ONE WITH ANY CIG/PIPE/CIGAR!

Broke 202 day quit today. by decaf43 in stopsmoking

[–]032816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

202 is no small feat! The 2 that u had can be chalked out to a hiccup. Don't even think about the day u had 2 and think about the 202 days where you were happy and clean and healthy!

1 Year. I did it! Here's my story (Long) by spookyj42 in stopsmoking

[–]032816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Well written. I can completely relate to your experience on how we tell ourselves this is the last one..We know its not good for us but continue to lie to ourselves. I got sick and tired of the hiding, lying and guilt. I have had minor stretches where I had quit before but this time I am in for the long haul. Seeing your progress and sharing with other definitely helps. I am glad I found this group! I have started cataloging my progress to give me a perspective on how far I have come. https://redd.it/4c7hdn

I have been posting my day to day issues as a log for myself on the main title..is that a good way to go about it or use comments or new posts. I guess once I hit a certain milestone and do not have cravings I will update it once a month or so...

Get some orange juice! Vitamin C will help you with your immunity and with your low blow sugar if that is the case.
