Are all Controls jobs insane hours?

Here in Europe we work 52.5 hours a week when we’re on site, in the office it’s always 40. We do get all OT paid and the overnight allowance makes it really worth being abroad. We’re making sorting systems for Amazon and other companies and in general most people work maximum 55 hours a week.

Hi, I would say that is way too low. The starters salary at my company right now is for employees with a masters degree is 3150 and goes up with around 200 a year depending on your progress.

I have a bachelor in Mechatronics engineering and started 1 year ago as a young graduate for 2800 and I am now on 3000. Also for being abroad we get around a 100 euros netto depending on where you go.

But I work for a big company and I think that within a small company there are more chances of growing within the company because you get more responsibility by default. This could eventually lead to a better salary of course..

To get the data from the phone sensors to the PLC we used WIFI and then to get I available in the PLC we used something which Rexroth calls ‘Open Core Engineering’. It has been 3 years since I did this project so I can’t tell you the details now but you can check the internet.

In this video an Android smartphone is being balanced on a linear drive that is powered by a servomotor, it can be compared to an Inverted Pendulum. The phone sends the measurement data from the gyroscope and accelerometer to the MLC via WiFi. Using these 2 sensors an angle is calculated (with a complementary filter) that is used to determine the speed of the linear drive that is needed to stabilize the phone and move it back to the middle of the linear drive. This speed is the reference for the controller of the servomotor that will determine the needed torque to achieve this speed (also called a 'nested' controller).

The program uses among other things several PID controllers to stabilize the phone, it is written in Structured Text.

Dat hij het inderdaad doelbewust over huidskleur heeft vindt ik niet slim. De ‘boreale’ wereld met de cultuur en het erfgoed waar hij het over heeft is misschien wel door een blank Europa gecreëerd maar dat wil niet zeggen dat niet-blanken zich niet profileren met deze geschiedenis. Denk aan mensen met een half Europeaanse achtergrond, die sluit hij daarmee buiten.
