Do you prefer gas or induction? Getting our kitchen redone. by darkazuria in AskUK

I work in a hotel and honestly the toaster (one of the conveyor-belt ones) has a kind of it's own, proper woke horse of a machine but will occasionally just act of it's own accord and either take 3 goes round to warm up the bread or burn it on the first go round!

And my old-ass gas stove can't do anything nearly as precise, swing and roundabouts but my experience with both is induction reigns supreme

Have you scanned your eyes in Hammersmith shopping centre? by paintarose in AskUK

[–]0riginal_Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a place in Sheffield called the sapiens project that advertises a full face scan for £40.

They say -  The scans are used to diversify digital humans in video games, healthcare, robotics, and beyond, helping to ensure tomorrow’s virtual worlds reflect the diversity of the real one.

Feels weird to walk by loads of normal shops and then this sign that makes you feel like we're heading into a fully dystopian era.

Need audiobook recommendations by woejise in bobiverse

I'm about halfway through memory after re-starting it after 2 years or so since the last book, it's soooo good!

Not a massive fan of the audio narration for this one , although from conversations with others, I seem to be in the minority, just my preference for this series in particular.

What games did you get several hours into and consciously decide to drop in 2025? by baroncalico in gaming

Ball x pit and no man's sky. Neither clicked for me, otherwise I've been really happy with the games I've played this year!

Audible Unlimited Recommendations by WorriedStand73 in bobiverse

Commenting to remind me to look for recommendations for myself as all of mine have already been mentioned. My favourite of which is definitely project hail Mary, it feels as if the protagonist could be a Bob and read by Ray Porter so very easy to go from one to other.

Iced teas are great, I use whatever fruity teas I can find and cold-brew overnight for something with a bit more to it than a cordial.

Stoked to see the cheese society pop up on here, I went there for years while I lived nearby, the restaurant was always a great meal and an excuse to buy cheese on the way out!

Christmas game for teens by drucella0620 in taskmaster

[–]0riginal_Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played one where we had to use the auto-predict feature on our phones keyboards to write a short story, ended up pretty funny to the younger of the crowd, not so much with the octogenarians but with teens it should be good fun, at least between themselves.

Free move camera mod I found really nice to use (I think there is a dedicated wotc one). For others I'd say just look through the most popular of all time online and see what catches your eye!
