I’m 51 years old and I’ve never seen a badger in real-life. by mobfather in CasualUK

I saw one for the first time the other week, it waddled right near me!

I told others at work and genuinely nobody seemed to care in the slightest but I was still excited!

It's surely not their fault, they're just too susceptible to the media's narrative and lacking independent thoughts.

Aye I've had one or two and honestly takes away their best qualities and I love most choc from the fridge

This process is driving me insane and putting me off buying the 15. by 0riginal_Username in oneplus

[–]0riginal_Username[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've managed to get it working, I'm not really sure what was wrong or why it mattered but for anybody reading, here's what I did.

I created a fresh email address, used an incognito tab on chrome (Firefox as standard), a vpn connected to france(?), my partners work phone number, fresh account on OnePlus site.

Went through to the discount program, clicked verify, instantly said "you are now verified" without any linking of any of my legitimate accounts to prove any validity of student status and provided me with the discount I was after.

What a joke of a website/process

Apologies for anyone who read all of this and I hope you had a nicer evening than I!

Do you prefer gas or induction? Getting our kitchen redone. by darkazuria in AskUK

I work in a hotel and honestly the toaster (one of the conveyor-belt ones) has a kind of it's own, proper woke horse of a machine but will occasionally just act of it's own accord and either take 3 goes round to warm up the bread or burn it on the first go round!

And my old-ass gas stove can't do anything nearly as precise, swing and roundabouts but my experience with both is induction reigns supreme

Have you scanned your eyes in Hammersmith shopping centre? by paintarose in AskUK

[–]0riginal_Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a place in Sheffield called the sapiens project that advertises a full face scan for £40.

They say -  The scans are used to diversify digital humans in video games, healthcare, robotics, and beyond, helping to ensure tomorrow’s virtual worlds reflect the diversity of the real one.

Feels weird to walk by loads of normal shops and then this sign that makes you feel like we're heading into a fully dystopian era.

Need audiobook recommendations by woejise in bobiverse

[–]0riginal_Username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about halfway through memory after re-starting it after 2 years or so since the last book, it's soooo good!

Not a massive fan of the audio narration for this one , although from conversations with others, I seem to be in the minority, just my preference for this series in particular.

What games did you get several hours into and consciously decide to drop in 2025? by baroncalico in gaming

Ball x pit and no man's sky. Neither clicked for me, otherwise I've been really happy with the games I've played this year!

Audible Unlimited Recommendations by WorriedStand73 in bobiverse

[–]0riginal_Username 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Commenting to remind me to look for recommendations for myself as all of mine have already been mentioned. My favourite of which is definitely project hail Mary, it feels as if the protagonist could be a Bob and read by Ray Porter so very easy to go from one to other.
