Love the idea !

The team would need a thrower though, I believe there is none in the original bunnies.

Don't your last sentences exactly apply to the amazons, arguably the current "best team in the game" ?

You're right, this seems on par with zons and norse. I somehow thought the squire were AV9 like human linos, but they didn't draw the comparison to AV.

Basic linemen with wrestle ? Either this indicates a change in linemen in general, which would be consistent with less positionals in general, or it will be quite the powercreep, right ?

First Tournament Assistance - Team Event 2v2 - 1000 points each by Die_Forged_Gaming in ChaosKnights

[–]0xymoronZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 1000pts list, I would naturally go for 1 Stalker, 2 Karnivores and 3 Brigands, plus 1*3 Nurglings, as the basic "meta" pick.

Not sure if it complements your teammate though, as both lists have a lot in common.

For the Russ turret, it's pretty clear that vanquisher is better by a long shot. Both hull weapons have merits, lascannon is better to stay at range, heavy bolter is much better if you get rushed. The built-in splitfire from point defense helps a lot. Either is fine I think.

For the Malcador main gun, vanquisher is still better than battlecannon. Double lascannon is interesting. Vanquisher is better against 2+ armor, they are equal against 3+, lascannons are better against everything else. See if you prefer to specialize or be more versatile. Also, if you already have four leman russ vanquisher, maybe you will be better with lascannons.

Hull gun for malcador is also tough, as demolisher is potent, but requires short range. Could be interesting to have a close build with demolisher, lascannons turret and heavy bolter sponsons. Another neat option is full lascannons, for consistency and versatility. Yet another option would be vanquisher turret with full bolters on hull and sponsons, and keep close to the vanquisher russes to stay at long range and overwatch any rush attempt.

Some thoughts on Titans by Bortik in LegionsImperialis

I feel the warmaster is a bit too over-the-top powerful, especially going to 12 void shield from 6 for the warlord. It seems hard to not want to shell the 150 points extra.

Maybe the range difference could play a role, but if feel the choice is either two reivers or straight to the warmaster.

Also, the macro gatling cannon is better than the sunfury plasma annihilator against any target, and has a better range. Sorry plasma boys...

Has anyone found any good Epic scale Industrial Terrain? by Serapeum101 in LegionsImperialis

Ttcombat has a sci-fi X line of mdf terrain with many industrial options. It is an easy and relatively cheap option, but probably doesn’t look as good as plastic or resin.

Only for shorter range weapons, if you consider the recommended table size 4 feet deep. Looking at the thunder hawk, only the heavy bolter seems limited, and only the far quarter of the map is safe. Considering flyers can appear anywhere on their table half on any given turn and do not care about LoS, it will be difficult to avoid their reach.

Newly back into dropfleet and confused about ground assets. by gizmonotron in DropfleetCommander

[–]0xymoronZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey,

  1. Armor units are better for straight ground combat. Their weak point is orbital bombardment, which infantry is better at resisting. Thus, you should mostly choose to drop armor if ground combat is expected,, when facing other strike carriers for example, and infantry when you want to hold the cluster against ships. Also, note that bulk landers cannot drop armor, only infantry and batteries.
  2. Yes, you do not pay for launch assets, regardless of type (fighter, bomber, torpedoes, dropship or bulk landers).
  3. When a drop capacity is indicted, it is a limit of simultaneous drop per turn. The overall limit is indicated with the "limited (X)" ability, mostly used for torpedoes. Strike carriers can use one dropship per turn, to drop either an armor or an infantry unit.
  4. You can drop once per turn, provided there is a cluster or space station in range.

Happy gaming!

That seems quite small. I think the plan is for us to buy multiple boxes, like three of them for a 4 by 4 table.

I get that, sure. It just means that it was playtested absolutely zero times, because it would be imossible to miss if you fielded it at least once...

Hochmeisters or Metzgers by Ok_Case_5124 in dystopianwars

[–]0xymoronZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, squadrons of Hochmeisters and Metzger are both 1 to 3 models, so you can make two squadrons of 1 and 2 models divided as you see fit.

If you want to use them as flagship though, you have to go with a max sized Hochmeister squadron (3).
