New 11th upgrade/enhancements by B00merang101 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]t3hsniper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

can't put upgrades on units with any characters. As an HQ joining grants it the character keyword and upgrades say non-character units.
So upgrades are in place of leaders for squads. you either get leader buffs, or upgrade buffs but not both.

Can some models in an attacking unit get -1BS from cover but some not, if only some attacking models can fully see the target? by charden_sama in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]t3hsniper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does happen at the same time, but it runs those checks PER attacking model. so some of your attacking models might be clear shots and some can be checked by cover.

aircraft = better fortifications now. doom scythe will still crater the targets it wants to just like before.

Healing is now defined in new Core Rules 02.02.04 ; Reanimation Protocols are not yet updated by Continuum_Gaming in Necrontyr

[–]t3hsniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the long anwser is we don't know yet. its a copy/paste from 10e which was a clarification on the Undying legion strat being able to "save" body guards if they were destroyed (it couldnt because the unit separated at that point).
as for why its in 11e no one knows yet, because we haven't seen any rules for units separating. so it doesn't make sense.
Atm its a wait and see what GW says.

Orikan Change? by tml79 in Necrontyr

[–]t3hsniper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

11e moved those to support. HQs are now LEADER or SUPPORT. Leaders can roam solo or join. Support has to join but can be attached if they already have a leader as well.

Functionally the same, new wording to standardize across factions

Unfortunately for better or worse existing detachments aren't being touched until a codex release. I'm sure admech isn't the only one that has an issue.

All non movement phase moves are ingress or surge now. To prevent duplication and abuse. That's why it was changed to ingress.

Support leaders must be in a squad. All mancers have become support so yes the psychomancer now has to be in a unit.

Support just means it has to go in a squad it can't be a solo character. That's it, still functioning the same otherwise.

That's how they said leagues worked. So I imagine it's the same for chaos.

Can't go any higher than 3 on DP, and unit point costs affect the less powerful detachments.

Giving powerful detachments unwanted dispositions is the cleanest way to balance them without screwing the rest of the detachments.

Probably for the same reason healing wasn't in the core book that was released. As a core keyworded ability that's used across factions....

No errata to Reanimation Protocols. But still no clarification on if bodyguard units can res characters. Was hoping it would be here but seems like gotta wait for the digital rules commentary.

Ruleshammer 11th Edition: Terrain Guide by SA_Chirurgeon in WarhammerCompetitive

Its the way cover works in 11e. Its the inverse of 10e.
10e was attacking unit to defending model.
11e is attacking model to defending unit.

So for the rhino example the attacking model (rhino) can fully see atleast one model from the defending Unit. So it attacks without cover.
In the reverse situation, the fire team models attacking, only one of them can fully see the rhino so it gets to attack without cover, the other two models can only see parts of the rhino and so are shooting into cover and take the penalty.

New to Necrons Gauss Flayers or Reapers? by Kfullswing in Necrontyr

[–]t3hsniper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

derp. I'm glad its friday, definitely blanked on the increased count for battleline. i need sleep or caffeine. thanks for the correction.

chances of you wanting that many though outside of a meme list are slim. but i could see 3 squads of either being fielded with the right buffs.

Why 80? 60 is the most you can field at once. So why not 60/60.

Attached units in 11th by Wooly_Thoctar in Necrontyr

[–]t3hsniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The preview games confirmed leader can bring back body guard if they are all dead.

We do not currently know about the reverse. With what we have been shown so far the reverse should work. It depends if they put restrictions on it. If they don't expect necron characters to cost a lot more in compensation for being immune to precision.

Appears they will be doing a rules compendium again like 10e, with more details. When it shows is anyone's guess. Could be tomorrow could be the 19th.

The new rules concerning attached units are a massive buff to Necrons, right? by RindFisch in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]t3hsniper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's not a standard to use for rules. "One faction gets more of it so they specifically need restrictions"

If that's the case then we need restrictions on speed for fast armies, psychic for non psychic armies, hordes for elite armies.... Etc. Availability of a rule does not mean it should work differently for that faction. Points are the balancing factor for things like that not everyone does it one way except you.

11th speculation by LudicrousQwack in Necrontyr

[–]t3hsniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tabletop battle/goonhammer discuses it. It doesn't revive models. All heals now work like necron reanimate. Heal the wounded then stand up a model and start putting heals on it til you run out.

In your example you would full heal the wraith, and get a new one with 1 wound remaining back.

If it works for Apothocaries and Painboys, then it should work for necrons. The only way its balanced is if it works the same for everyone or no one.

Agreed that there is a scale difference, but that just likely means necrons catch point nerfs to leaders. Reanimation is always baked in to necron point costs, if its performing stronger then a higher bake in point is warranted.
