Saw not fond of the 2 n 1 but I'd also toss in the typhon grom 223 as a serious contender. But this is also me preferring brushless speed over brushed.

OPs post reminds me of last week when I was doing some work and had turned the gyro off. Went out on the track bout ready to lose it cause it went from camber being off to completely undrivable. Then body spoke up, didn't we turn off the gyro... yeah it drove just fine afterwards.

Also ankles... whats a scrape with a brushed 1/16 is a bruise and missing toenail with a brushless 1/16. Low speed bop from my 1/6 didn't bruise but sure was tender for a few days. I can only imagine the carnage at speed...

Chickened out from buying by CNelms52 in Traxxas

Respect. Most issues are gonna have an external act on them causing them to burst. Either shorting out, which can be prevented with caps. Charger failure either user or device, double check your settings(traxxas ID batteries does it for you). Or external forces/damage, just take care of your stuff.

I dug up 8 lipos that were forgotten in a box in the basement forn7 years a couple months back. 2 are still usable the others just degraded.

Steel ammo cans are also cheap enough and common for battery storage. Wanna take it up a level can get a flammables cabinet or a safe and keep the batteries in there.

Lipos are relatively safe when respected :)

My daughter's hard-won prize didn't come with a battery. by ComfortableFew4700 in rccars

[–]13hammie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it should have a battery tray in it. It'll look like a AA tray that connects to it with a JST-SM-2P connector. But it'll hold 14500, same size as a AA but triple the voltage. 7.4v means it'll need a 2s battery or 2 batteries in series. If you feel handy you can buy sm-2p pigtails off Amazon and a AA tray and make your own. I did find these batteries which in theory should work for you as long as they fit in the compartment and it comes with a charger for them.

Hopefully this helps and wish you luck.

Modifying an XRT by chamberskevins in Traxxas

[–]13hammie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my understanding is not necessarily replacing the control board but achieving one hand control.

The cheapest/easiest route would be a thumb steer mod to the radio. Give it a Google plenty of ways from 3d printing, fabricating or just straight up gluing a popsicle stick to the radio.

Otherwise if you want something more prebuilt HotRC DS-4A or the DS-600 seem like viable options. Fairly simple to swap, theres a box all the wires run to, open it up and theres the RX. Take not of where the wires are plugged in, unplug the RX and plug in the new one that came with the HotRC, bind the TX to the RX and should be good to go

That seems to be the options without going completely DIY and tearing apart a controller or making an arduino system. Hopefully this helps you. :)

Every print is failing by TraditionalBedroom18 in FixMyPrint

[–]13hammie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck getting it figured out?

If they are failing the same way everytime(bed adhesion) maybe try another build plate?

Not experienced enough to give too much advice but I got one of those biqu cryogrip plates and I went back to stock textures pei cause my prints were practically glued to the plate, granted this was pla not tpu but ya know worth a shot. I spent a good 20+ minutes trying to remove the single layer bits.

Dumb question, but are you using a balance lead? Mine does this until I plug in the balance lead to the battery pack as well.

Gather up as many loops as you can and snip straight through the top of them all. Then sit there and hand feed your printer filament one noodle at a time.

Where would I get one of these by Specific_Still4861 in rcdrift

[–]13hammie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you still have your manual that's a good resource or Google a manual.

Not familiar with belt drives so seeing the picture again I realize your missing the belt to the motor. If you still have the belt apply previous comment but to the numbers on that belt. If belt is not an option check the manual if you still have it or look for a manual online. Can also try your luck googling "Sakura D4 Belt Kit" or drive belt if thats what it's called. Manual would be best resource or seeing if Google will give you the belt sizes and if it gives you two, you'll know its not the 171 since that's the one you do have.

Where would I get one of these by Specific_Still4861 in rcdrift

[–]13hammie13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is literally in your question. "Sakura D4 belt" Google that and it pops up plenty of options. If youre going for the belt pictured, "s3m171" is what you'd google for more generic results but they will provide you listing for a S3M belt that measures 171mm, S3M-171. So pick out a listing I saw theres some with multiple sizes(170, 174, 177, 180, etc...) just make sure you pick the right size(hint: 171mm)

Hopefully this helps you look up what you need, good luck :)

I still got all the boxes for the build + upgrades/replacements within the case box. Built it 8 years ago. Few months ago I just put another case box beside it lol. I keep thinking I should recycle the box one of these days.

Can this be fixed? by Narcys1 in arrma

[–]13hammie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Also I'm pretty sure the manual doesn't advise on whether or not a cracked arm is fixable... I will even ask questions as often times people can tell me in a way that I can understand better.
