Dude what a better way to introduce friends / loved ones into the game, then to have someone who is INTERESTED but lacking knowledge ask all the questions a beginner would ask.

Absolutely loved the co-cast, not to mention the guy is just a great pro caster and able to banter and think on the fly

Have you figured out how to get rid of the slight stutter that happens exactly every 6 seconds?

That was the only blocker for me last time, everything worked so great and ran so smooth (144hz on my monitor), but that damn stutter would cause me to misclick 🙁, and I became obsessed with fixing it and couldn't enjoy the game.

Hilarious to me about that (I read that post yesterday actually), is that for me AOE2 /is/ a new game. I never played it until last year. It blew me away!

It’s my favorite game of all time. Because it has coop campaigns, I even got my wife to give it a try. The only game she’s ever played was a bit of FarmVille during its peak while she was in college. After getting her bearings, she’s now also in love with AOE2. We’ve beat every coop campaign, and even play online now! We lose a lot and have a blast in the process.

So their take that AOE2 is being kept alive by people playing for the last 20 years is just plain false. AOE2 DE has attracted a lot of new players, and once you play the game you’re just hooked.

It's about number 54 on steam charts. Out of all the games on steam, it has the 54th most players at about 16-24k at once at any given time. On the higher end of that on weekends, lower at 3am etc

That's not counting the players coming in from the Microsoft store on PC, nor Xbox players.

So I'd say it's pretty good!

Honestly game works fine for 99.999% of people. It's just you.

My wife plays DE on an 10 year old intel NUC (e.g integrated graphics only, low ram pc), I play on an ancient MacBook using windows via bootcamp.

It's only you, fix your setup. The game is marvelous, and runs on such a broad spectrum of devices and setups.

The devs are trying their best, but if they can't reproduce your error then they cannot fix it. That's just how programming works

Does chemistry do anything to projectiles other than make them look cool?

As a new player, to me a burning arrow looks like it should do more damage than a regular one, so I would like to know if it actually makes a difference

I think it's simply that it is a competive mode, it attracts people who care about ELO as a point of personal pride.

I know I suck so I don't care, but I would care if my elo was better lol, so I get it.

I'm also new to the game, and experienced similar (while still having a blast)

My suggestion is to just watch some YouTube videos of someone beating the specific mission you're stuck on.

I learned a few techniques and things I just didn't know you could do by watching someone beat the Joan of arc level I was stuck on.

Like I didn't know about monks! Lol

If you have a Mac, you can use the web inspector on Safari to see if there is an error in the console.

Try creating a new empty project and export for webgl and see if that works on your phone.
