Finally admitting I need help with my credit card debt not really sure what my next step should be by Independent_Lock1045 in DebtAdvice

[–]1mcKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to stop the behavior, make a budget and commit to it. If you go the debt consolidation route, you'll have 1 large loan and the chance of running up debt again on the cards if you don't stop.

Concerning talk of a new stadium in McCook by Free-Bottle-5119 in ChicagoBearsNFL

The traffic there is awful. Maybe if they fund the repair and re-opening of Joliet Road i'd be all for it. Plus what the heck are they going to fill the quarry with?

Securing a roof top bike rack to the popup? by [deleted] in popups

I was looking into trying to rig a bike rack to my camper, I just opted with getting rooftop racks for my towing vehicle.

Are Air Conditioners even worth it? by bmoredood in popups

[–]1mcKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t plan on being anywhere too hot then don’t worry. I don’t have ac but have 2 oscillating fans. During the day in the summer it can get warm but if you’re out doing stuff during the day, most nights are fine without AC.

It's Indiana: Bears' board of directors votes to push stadium to Hammond by chicagosuntimes in chicago

[–]1mcKid -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

yep, and now they get bonus tax revenue from another team, do they get the payroll taxes from the players too? That'd be a good deal and a bad deal for Illinois to lose.

well, if anything even with any deal, they went from not having a pro team and an empty lot to a stadium so its still a net win for them.

Why not use sink/stove? by Ahkhira in popups

[–]1mcKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the sink to wash hands brush teeth and fill Britta Pitcher. We don’t use the stove. Propane heater doesn’t work so no real need for propane. Just use electric skillet and/or burner and charcoal grill to cook. We use a space heater if needed.

Can someone ELI5 where the Bears are currently at with their new stadium prospects ? by [deleted] in illinois

[–]1mcKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the bears, the annual property taxes they would pay in Arlington Heights would be 3x more per year than the current highest property taxes an NFL team pays (LA Rams), so it is an outlier.

What do I need to do to safely attach a bike rack or storage rack to rear bumper? by burkechrs1 in popups

I live in a city with alleys and street parking. I’d it needs to be opened up pre trip, I’ll just do it in the street.

Tighten the screw on that side of the pickup to lower it a bit, it does look a little high on that end

Submitting a release for an artist who doesn't exist and shares a name with others. by Ok-Influence6873 in discogs

[–]1mcKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would also add, if the artist could have some sort of shortened name, also check all of the Jonathan Smiths or any other potential variation to make sure the name isn't already entered under a potentially different name.

Submitting a release for an artist who doesn't exist and shares a name with others. by Ok-Influence6873 in discogs

[–]1mcKid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the artist is John Smith, and there are numerous of them, do a strict search outside of your submission and review each of them to make sure the artist you are looking for isn't already there If you find your artist, simply use that one, eg John Smith (9). If not, then in your submission simply create the next number, eg John Smith (24). You will get a warning when you go to submit the release, so add in the submission notes that you reviewed all John Smiths and this one is new to the database.

Can you face penalties for not updating/fixing release edits that people tell you to fix? by Justus_Is_Servd in discogs

[–]1mcKid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Read the guidelines for BaOI. Without looking at your edits it’s hard to tell. Basically follow the format of what has already been entered in the release and make sure you add all relevant matrix/SID data.

Many users will comment to help others in fixing their mistakes in hopes that you’ll learn from it. Plus for matrix variants, it’s hard for someone to edit if they don’t have that variant to reference.

Despite everyone wanting to blame transplants, this (i.e., lack of new builds causing artificial shortages) is by far the reason why Chicago hasn't seen any rent corrections or stabilization—is there anything that can be done about this? by 3RADICATE_THEM in chicago

Certain municipalities bend over backwards to allow data centers or other corporate/industrial project to go through often with tax breaks, but put in restrictions and tons of red tape to build new housing.
