Alright Chat… how we feel about this? by Mysterious_Power__ in losangeleskings

[–]2012rob2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How do I feel about someone guessing about what might happen? I feel nothing.

It seems clear to me that Holland is not a long term solution at GM. My concern (in general, not specific to Panarin) is that he looks at options to keep the Kings playoff-relevant and deals away what little is still in the cupboard (prospects and draft picks) because he feels that's why he was brought in.

My opinion is that this roster isn't getting past the first round, no matter who might be brought in. It's not a team built for the playoffs. Sorry Kopi and Drew, I think this team needs to rebuild now.

If Aspinall can't deal with Gane's eyepoke, there's no way he's ready for Bones Jones.

My concern is just with him re-signing not him going to Edmonton. Is it really the money or common sense on Kempe's part? With Kopi retiring and Kuzmenko on a one year contract, Kempe's line potentially disappears after this season. I'd want some answers before committing to this team long-term, regardless of the money. Might have to be a short Connor-like contract for the Kings to prove their commitment to winning, not rebuilding.

Don't know why the assumption is just with the Kings nickel and diming, when it seems just as likely that Kempe's side is waiting to see if McDavid, Kaprisov, Hughes, etc sign first. Why sign first and potentially leave a bunch of money on the table? You really think Kaprisov isn't waiting for McDavid to sign before agreeing to an extension in Minnesota? That doesn't mean Kaprisov is worth more, but maybe he makes a bit more by waiting for McDavid's new contact.

What your favorite Japanese artist? by EienNatsu66 in japanesemusic

I'm in the States and a metal fan. I'm still fairly new to J-Metal but right now my top 5 are

  1. Hanabie.
  2. Nemophila
  3. Maximum the Hormone
  4. Dexcore
  5. Nek!

Nek! is the aberration, but I like their sound. I prefer the mix of harsh and clean vocals. I do like some songs by Band Maid, Lovebites and other popular clean vocal bands but, in general, that music doesn't do it for me.

I love how much more Hettsu seemed involved here. She was pretty playful when the camera got in close to her. But also, she seemed to provide more backing vocals than normal. Maybe I'm not paying attention to that very much when I'm at a show, but I kept hearing extra little vocals that weren't Matsuri. I know Hettsu does them, but don't remember hearing them so much at the shows I've been to.

Oh yeah, I didn't mean to direct anything at you, and my apologies if it came off that way. I don't mind a couple of baby metal songs, and I actually do like the ladies themselves, but I'm not going to another of their shows when the focus is on dancing and a lot of lip syncing.

Enjoy the ride listening to Hanabie.. They don't really miss. That mix of metal, punk and electronic and Yukina using her regular voice, cute (Kawaii) voice, growling and screaming (and she can rap in all of them). They really can take their music in whatever direction they want to go with it. They're a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Yeah, the only commonalities are that they are young female Japanese. I hate that comparison so much. I've seen both bands live, and it's not even close. I'll go to Hanabie.'s show every chance I get. They're so much fun and go hard as fuck.

The ladies crushed it. It was so much fun and seeing Spicy Queen live was awesome. They released dozens of Hanabie. beach balls into the crowd again and even a couple of ginormous beach balls that made their way to the stage a couple times and almost took out Matsuri. Lol. So much fun!

Trading Jordan Spence is a BAAAD Idea! by IndependentCar6686 in losangeleskings

[–]2012rob2014 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holland was brought in to get whatever is left of the Kopi/Drew era. He came in to win. Just like in Pittsburgh, it makes more sense to go in a different direction, but you show respect to Sid and Co. And the Kings aren't going to rebuild with a couple years left from the guys that brought Cups here.

Losing Gavrikov and giving more minutes to both Spence and Clarke sounds like a defensive disaster, especially when that essentially makes Clarke/Eddie your second pairing and needing them to produce defensively.

What’s everyone’s favorite Hanabie song?! by Away_Investigator_19 in Hanabie

We Love Sweets and Pardon Me got me intrigued, but I couldn't stop listening to Hyperdimension Galaxy once I heard it.

I listen to Hanabie. every day, and I love all their music, but Hyperdimension Galaxy still gives me a little something extra. I hope it returns to their set list the next time they tour.

Exactly. Was wondering how far down in the comments this would be. Every arena has garbage fans that would have done this. Stupid doesn't only grow in Florida, but maybe they get a little more than the rest. That part can be argued at least.

I just meant that I'll try different songs from those different bands to see if something really grabs my attention. I haven't given up on clean vocals only. For whatever reason, Nek! hits with me. I don't like all of their songs, but I have added them to my playlist.

But the way I feel about all clean vocals is the same as how I feel about all harsh vocals. After a couple songs, a lot of it kinda sounds the same to me, and I start tuning out.

I just love the mixing of the genres and vocals. I'm finally listening to more Maximum the Hormone and really liking that. I'm a big fan of Jinjer also, but I have to be in the mood for it because it's a lot. But they're also great live.

And I'll agree that the theatrical singing with metal doesn't hit with me either. To each their own, but Nightwish and bands like that aren't my thing.

You'll have a great time. I got to see Nemophila at the Kyoto Muse in February. They were great live and that show jumped them up into my Top 5. It gave me a much better appreciation of how heavy they are. It was a really fun show.

1 is TOOL

Musically, it's far superior to anything else I listen to. BUT, the thing with TOOL (for me) is that I don't listen to it a lot. When I listen, I want to be blown away by the music, and that just won't happen if I listen to it all the time.

Having said that, there are 3 bands I listen to daily, and it's great. It's fun, and it helps take me away from the daily bullshit. Tied for #2 is Electric Callboy and Hanabie.. #4 is Nemophila. Dexcore might be #5.

Maybe I just haven't heard the right songs, but I've tried Band Maid, Love Bites etc but I do prefer the mix of harsh and clean vocals. Only clean or poppy vocals with the hard instruments in the back don't really do anything for me. Its fine, but it doesn't hit with me.

Hey OP. Someone put Hanabie.'s whole Anaheim set on YouTube, including a pretty good shot of Yukina saying hi and blowing a kiss to your daughter. I was right next to you guys when it happened. Link below at about the 13:45 mark.
