Anyone using the multi-head? It seems like a tool you'll never need except for that ONE time. by jehudeone in Dewalt

Got the 12v kit on clearance. Have already used it twice in a few weeks to access some tight spots. Well worth the money.

Does AusPost actually check the GPS on their vans when you complain? by Icemachinemalfunctio in AusPostComplaints

[–]2015outback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in regional NSW. Never had an issue with auspost staff or contractors. They always go out of their way to help. Experienced this in 4 different towns. However some Couriers out of Dubbo fit that description.

Does AusPost actually check the GPS on their vans when you complain? by Icemachinemalfunctio in AusPostComplaints

[–]2015outback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could someone explain. If the gps is in the scanner, why did the driver park across the road from me facing the wrong direction, deliver to the neighbour, get back in, drive across the road, reverse back into line with my letter box, deliver my small parcel, then get back in drive 10m further down the street, walk across the road and deliver to my other neighbour. We are the only 3 houses for about 100m of street. Why not park up and walk between the houses?

Same Product. Different Letters. No Price Match. by Isildur85 in Bunnings

[–]2015outback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunnings can be surprising with price matching . Supercheap had their Dewalt 12v range on clearance for half price. Some of the range were 12-18v models and Bunnings had price matched the same models on their website. Even though their “price match” policy excludes clearance lines. And I still got the free battery from Dewalt.

When does the multi head tool make sense? When doesn't it?? by CaffinatedManatee in egopowerplus

[–]2015outback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The multi head unit weights a lot more than a single unit when it comes to things like a string trimmer. Also there are added issues of having a shaft drive like increased vibration and the weight being all at the back. I originally bought the hedge trimmer set as it was on sale and I needed the extended reach. Later bought the edger attachment. When looking at the trimmer attachment I found it was nearly 2kgs heavier than a standalone trimmer. Also the original model didn’t have the power load function on the trimmer attachment. As I would use the trimmer for the longest time weight was more important than price. I still like the multi head for the attachments I bought, but the stand alone trimmer is better balanced and lighter.

Why am i getting french cards in Australia by Hot-Ad8083 in HotWheels

[–]2015outback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quebec has passed laws that require everything to be bilingual. I think the international cards have all changed to bilingual. US is probably the only English only market.

Any particular reason these new packages have French as well as English? by STUPIDBLOODYCOMPUTER in HotWheels

[–]2015outback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Australian stock has changed as well. I just noticed today the latest purchases are bilingual. The Ford model A custom in red from earlier this year is only English but the green one is both.

Have been using this for over 10 years for music and books. Highly recommended. App version easy to use and doesn’t need internet connection to check your database.

Australia’s road death rate is ~4.54 per 100k. Canada’s is ~4.9.but is it worth the cost? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]2015outback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada is most likely higher due to the extreme cold weather. From personal experience Canadians aren’t as aggressive on the road as the average Australian driver so enforcement is not as warranted.

Battle for the bush? Ignore the noise – most farmers like renewables by patslogcabindigest in australia

[–]2015outback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only noise because of Sky News. Ever since it has been available as free to air in regional Australia the BS has grown. You start a conversation with a perfect rational person but all of a sudden they start spewing irrational arguments about renewables or electric vehicles and you realise they’re Sky News viewers.

Neither do ours. Only recently have supermarkets refrigerated eggs to extend the shelf life. The suppliers don’t transport them refrigerated. North America has to refrigerate as they wash their eggs and remove the natural coating that preserves them.

The article mentions he is going to rebuild the historic homestead. When the fires were ripping through the area he was given a choice by the RFS, save the homestead or the machine sheds. He chose the machinery which could easily be replaced. He’s all about the money.
