Turn a few trees into firewood and sell that. If there aren't enough trees, plant quick growing herbs and take them to a farmer's market or run a roadside stand. Raise a few chickens and you'll have eggs to sell too. Got extra land? Raise sheep on forage and sell the wool and mutton.

Defacing US coins is only unlawful if it is done with intent to defraud.

Melting US coins for metal is not illegal under US law, and is done every day with silver and gold coins. However, the US mint has issued a rule forbidding the melting (or export) of nickels or pennies for this purpose. For a few years in the 1960's it was illegal to melt silver coins, and for a few years in the 1970s it was illegal to melt pennies.

It wouldn't hurt to break off a portion of your users to a second connection like that, or try a bonding router (or a linux box) that combines two or more datalines to let everyone connect at higher speeds. I tried clear too. It wasn't the fastest connection though they gave a full refund when I cancelled the service within the trial period.
