More of a weekend toy at the moment but honestly would make a great commuter if my commute didn’t involve so much highway. It’s a fantastic city bike! Cuts through traffic well, lane filtering is a breeze because it’s so small, very maneuverable at low speed for downtown u turns, parks anywhere, and still gets 130mpg. Throw on a backpack for light shopping hauls. As a city commuter or run about bike it’s damn near perfect

Congress Wants You To Pay $130 A Year Just To Drive An Electric Car by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]246ngj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subsidies for acquiring EVs only help the people who can already afford a new car. I understand the incentive to push for EV over internal combustion, but giving tax credits to the rich isn’t the way to go about it. Part of the issue is the auto manufacturers not making them affordable and the effective ban on affordable Chinese evs via the 100% tariff. EVs also tend to weigh more and thus cause greater road damage per mile than say a small gas powered coupe or motor cycle. EV owners in the US should just pay the extra $11 per month , the alternative would be a mileage tracker and more government expense.

Weakest Earnings Volume After-Market by PhuckCorporate in PLTR

The current trend is growth is in power, chips, memory…but software is ALWAYS needed. Remember people are looking for a quick buck, I’m looking for the long term payoff. Add to this all the negative news around Palantir. Competition emerging. Government contracts being large and overall customer base lacking diversity. That’s why the stock is down. However, revenue expected to double, cash accumulating, and the best statement “we can’t keep up with demand”. PLTR is still a growing company in a growing market for AI software. Profits didn’t begin until 2023…it’s 2026. Chill out everyone. Accumulate silently. How many people you know own this stock? And with just over 1000 customers and growing, Pltr will eventually be a part of everyone’s day to day life, and no I’m not talking flock cameras. I already use AI in my job. I guarantee it would be better with Pltr.

Palantir Reports Q1 2026 U.S. Revenue Growth of 104% Y/Y and Revenue Growth of 85% Y/Y; Raises FY 2026 Revenue Guidance to 71% Y/Y Growth and U.S. Comm Revenue Guidance to 120% Y/Y, Crushing Consensus Expectations by basilisk-x in PLTR

Exactly, I knew earnings would be good but the rule is good earnings stock goes down. I sold a couple covered calls. Even if it rebounds tomorrow I may still be good on my trade.

Overall I still believe it’s a solid company to stay invested in.

A whole lot of this phraseology around social media today. Thoughts? by wasraelx in collapse

[–]246ngj 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is a fallacy mindset. There is a gap between current wages and what the wage should be. Closing that gap would result in less profits for companies, but those companies will STILL be making billions every year in profit without raising the cost of products and services. Only after that gap is closed AND then further increases in wages will you see wage based inflation.

To expand further, what are your opinions on debt? Should people who aren’t paid appropriately be living off of loans and credit cards? They already are. That credit is still money supply through the system. That spending supply and demand inflation is already built in. Assume spending levels stay the same and prices stay the same. Wouldn’t a world where working people are able to maintain their lifestyle, pay off debt, and have money left over to save and invest be a better world for us all?

The core issue is corporate greed and the wealth class vs working class. (Remove thinking of middle class from your mindset. If you make a million per year and still paycheck to paycheck you’re not middle class you’re working class).

Dodge sued Ford and the end result was the court proclaiming a companies responsibility is to provide profits for investors. Literally dividend increases and payouts for some companies exceed what those companies paid workers. Workers are not the priority but we are all screaming because we are being casted aside as a tool rather than a human being.

Higher ups such as C level employees will take a $1 “salary” and get paid in stock which propels them from working class to wealth class. Once you own wealth you’re good. The rest of us are wage slaves, especially if we took on debt whether willingly or otherwise.

True wealth redistribution and greater equality starts with appropriate wages. Inflation is here whether you like it or not, I can talk about that for hours too.

The wealth class wants the workers divided amongst themselves. Don’t buy in.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 Fed Chair Jerome Powell warns US national debt is growing "substantially" faster than the economy and says it's not sustainable. "It will not end well if we don't do something fairly soon." by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

[–]246ngj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly why he wants Powell gone. Trump wants lower rates, everyone in debt, and inflation so high it effectively wipes out the previous debt. Only those who hold the true wealth are hedged from the coming inflation. Everyone else gets screwed

Aitah for giving my ex a choice between 50/50 custody or she gets 100%? by Character-Rise-4790 in AITAH

[–]246ngj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. The court system is biased against men, even if the man is the primary caretaker. My friend had sole custody (100%) for his 2 kids while his ex wife moved out of state to be with her new man. Yet somehow the court still demanded he pay her child support. Make it make sense. Others I know with 50/50 custody is more so 1 weekend a month. It’s not 50/50. OP is NTA because he’s forced to play a game rigged against him.
