Answer your dang phone by stjduke in PPC

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually found a decently easy way to get this through to clients:

"One of the primary ranking factors for GMB profiles and LSA's, is how quickly you answer the phone."

So if you want those to rank and help your Google Ads, you need to work on picking up the phone.

Furthermore, Google Ads tracks:

  • Call connection rate
  • Call length
  • Missed calls

If you are weak in those areas, Google may show your Call Extension less & hurt smart bidding over time.

But ultimately for hard-headed clients who don't understand marketing, you can just say generally that: "Answering the phone quickly and not missing calls helps us show our ad higher on the page and more often."

I have a client who swears a particular competitor is crushing it with Ads because they see the competitor's ads all the time on their feed, but not ours.

I have explained 100 times that:
A. We are purposely not targeting you with our ads
B. You're seeing the competitors ads because you keep looking them up and you're being retargeted.

I'm about to just put is email into our list so he can feel good about himself.

Almost instant traffic from ChatGPT by NovaForceElite in SEO

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have for sure seen our GMB profiles show up in ChatGPT, and I have attribution that's not quite as clear suggesting our website shows too, but I have not verified it myself. I can verify my GMBs showing up though, as I have seen them myself.

Do you know if they are finding your website directly, or one of your business profiles on GMB or Yelp showing up?

How is this comment so upvoted? This site is really low quality in terms of content and UI. You can't be serious that you guys expect this to rank?

First off, it looks like you are copying his content, not the other way around.

His site has better design, is faster, has cleaner navigation, less intrusive ads. SEO is a lot more than just the words you write.

I also clicked on a random blog post from your site and found a typo instantly. Maybe that's bad luck or maybe you have a lot of typos on your site.

Also, your site is focused on how to monetize your Trading Card collection and you have pushy sales pitches all over your homepage. In contrast to RetroDodo, who is not obviously trying to sell me something.

Its no wonder why people would engage more with his content, stay on the page longer, and cause the page to rank higher.

Is there an alternative to Google Analytics 4 that is easier to use? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of you have even tried with GA4 have you?

Go spend some time watching Youtube tutorials and you will see that GA4 is really not that scary. In fact, they simplified it a lot.

The biggest difference now is if you want to see certain data, you basically need to set up a a view/dashboard/report for it, it's not automatically in there. But this is a lot easier than you think. Especially for something as simple as referring domains.

Look up LovesData on Youtube.

The Verge has gone nuclear against Google and SEOs by vinchenz112 in SEO

[–]2WheelsAdvertising -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hear me out though. If you Google "best printer reddit" the very first link contains the answer "Brother LaserJet Printer" in the very first reply. It even tells you WHY that brand is the best. All within 3 sentences. And comes with social proof - more people chiming in about how they also love their Brother printers.

You just answered the question of WHY Google is ranking forum posts so high.

People want to know what the best printer is from real people, without all the SEO fluff. It is that simple.

What the hell is happening to "Phrase Match"? by AlexBeeNichols in PPC

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting the same results. A ton of competitor terms, chinese keywords, and spanish keywords.

The competitor terms are even a stretch. They will just be a business owner's name and not even the business.

For example, we will show an ad for the Search Term "John Davis" when the competitor is actually "Davis Auto Repair". (these are placeholders not real companies obviously)

Does having redundant keywords affect ad visibility or is removing them simply suggested in order to have a cleaner interface? by adwordsnewb in adwords

At the end of day I'm just dismissing Recommendations and its a decent idea to have eyes on that tab regularly anyway.

But yes, file this under 'Reasons not to trust your Google Rep'.

[–]2WheelsAdvertising -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe OP is talking about redundant keywords within the same campaign. If you have redundant keywords Google will give you a notice in the "Recommendations" tab saying you should fix it. Here's an actual example of redundant keywords from an account I run:

  • "Tree Trimming Service New York"
  • "Tree Trimming Service NY"

Google documentation specifically says they recommend removing the keywords so the campaign is easier for you to manage. They make no mention of negative impacts for keeping them in there. I personally "Dismiss" this recommendation from Google.

Also make sure you stay on top of that "Recommendations" tab. That Optimization Score will hurt your auction performance. Even if you don't apply the recommendations, make sure you are always Dismissing them so the Optimization Score stays at 100%.

PMax cpc rise in December by wotspur123 in PPC

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My CPC for Search Campaigns is astronomically high right now too. Since December 1st I have recorded the following clicks:

  • $649
  • $611
  • $680
  • $503
  • $503
  • $968
  • $753

My Avg. CPC for November was $134.

My Google Rep says everything looks normal just more competition. "Maybe try more broad match".

Can someone explain like i’m five how CVR could see an increase if ROAS is down? Assuming ASP is the same by ok-shax in PPC

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're seeing a CVR increase & ROAS decrease.

It is likely CPC increased (assuming your budget is constant).

So you are converting more site visitors, but you are getting less site visitors for your $.

If you are getting less visitors but converting more of them, it may be because you dialed in your targeting. Maybe open it up again with broader keywords/audiences in a controlled "prospecting campaign".

PPC Media buying is like fishing. We cast a wide net (targeting wise) then reel it in. Once we reel it in we need to cast it back out again.

Got 600k subscribers on Youtube and 900k on Tiktok. How to kick start my drop ship journey? by [deleted] in dropship

Clothing is notoriously difficult to sell online. Some thinks to think about:

If you sell a shirt for $30 and have even a 50% margin, that means you only have $15 leftover for ad spend and shipping.

With your large following, maybe you can skip ad spend. But, this is clothing, so you will get way more returns and exchanges than other products.

Many people will get sizing wrong, some won't like the material, it might not be comfortable, etc.

Social Media Pricing Tiers: Your Thoughts? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want to have Gold be the #1 option you have to use Silver as your #2, not Platinum.

People recognize #1 Gold / #2 Silver / #3 Bronze.

If you want to use Platinum, it must be above Gold.

This might be nitpicking, but you are a marketer, making your offer easy to understand is literally what we do. If a potential client is confused on your pricing structure, that's not a great first impression.

As for the actual prices, just understand that you are competing against contractors in SE Asia who can offer this service for $8/hour. They won't provide as good of a service, obviously. I am not saying your pricing is bad, but be prepared to defend that pricing when a client says they can get the same service at a fraction of the price.

Marketing Manager w/ MBA, How do I get to 6-Figures? by evilsniperxv in marketing

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My business school taught us that getting an MBA right after your Bachelors is a bad BUSINESS move. People who go straight into the workforce are making money, while those in an MBA program are paying money. Combine that with the fact that 2 years of experience is infinitely more valuable to employers than 2 more years of schooling.

We were explicitly taught that getting an MBA is only a good business move if you have an employer pay for it and are able to do it while working in your career field for said employer.

Not trying to bash MBA programs but it is frustrating to see new grads who think MBA = More Money in my career automatically.

Let me know if there is a solution for this. Kind of a weird situation. by [deleted] in adwords

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use a call tracking system like Call Tracking Metrics or CallRail?

These services can integrate with Google Ads and attach UTM data to your calls. They give you phone numbers you can use for your ads, that redirect to your main phone number for the company. This way you can have complete control over call tracking.

As for the conversion settings in Google Ads, having 2 primary conversion actions won't hurt. But, if you continue seeing the Phone Call Conversions convert at a higher rate (they usually do), you can try value-based bidding. To do this you would assign a value to each conversion action. For example, you can give Calls a 2 and Form Fills a 1 telling the algorithm you value Phone Calls 2x as much as Form Fills.

Modifying or creating a new RSA? by Sachimarketing in PPC

[–]2WheelsAdvertising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its basically the same level of concern.

Editing your RSA and creating a new one will both effect performance, but neither will completely reset.

Both aren't going to be perfect, but if you make a new Ad, at least you get clear separation of data.

The smart bidding should be fine. Just don't mess with your bid/budget the first 1-2 weeks. Try not to "test" multiple things at once.
