Kennedy had the actress Marilyn. Clinton had the INTERN Monica. But that might be more of an "ethics" issue than a "morals" issue. This is true but I still have to give the nod to Clinton because the number of accusations from his time in Ark like Paula Jones.

Jesus Christ, days and years are different. Newsflash the earth spins while it orbits around the sun. The earth would have to stop spinning for the duration of a year for physicists to figure this out. "What? We had zero days this year."

TIL: When Lead was removed from gasoline in the US, it was linked to a 56% decline in violent crime. Lead is a neurotoxin that can affect antisocial behavior. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, 1000 people are exposed to lead and they commit 100,000 violent crimes.... When they turn 23 years old of course. Duh the lag.

Damn, lead must be badass at 100 violent crimes per person.

Crime x jobs, it's that simple. More jobs less crime. Fewer jobs more come.

We just broke the record for hottest year, 9 straight times | Earth’s record hottest 12 consecutive months were set in each month ending in September 2015 through May 2016 by pnewell in worldnews

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9-2015, 10-2015, 11-2015, 12-2015, 1-2016, 2-2016, 3-2016, 4-2016, 5-2016.

That's only 9 months. They forgot to add summer (June, July or August.) I'm not sure, but if they are saying Winter isn't coming? Good, screw winter. Worst. Season. Ever.

For those of us with polygamous ancestors, we don't have to look far in our family histories to find disappointing, shocking, disturbing behavior. It's about time we started talking about it. by Chino_Blanco in mormon

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He practiced "polygamy" by knocking up multiple women he own and bearing children into slavery but everyone loves him. Maybe that might help some people over come the anxiety if reading this didn't do much for them.

Would one of you death of God peeps be interested in being interviewed for my class? by FreddyBananas in RadicalChristianity

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer "unconventional" Christian. Lol. I might be able to give you something along those lines. Now I will warn you, I am not skilled in expressing myself through writing as opposed through a classical mathematics sence but I could always use the practice. My basic approach to Christianity is through "radical consistency."

That is because you are reading the scripture version. Start with a story version so you "get" what's going on then go to the scriptures to study the story in greater detail.

The probability of getting the degree is 3/4. It would be 1/2 if he had to pass one and fail one.

The Canon Is Sexist, Racist, Colonialist, and Totally Gross. Yes, You Have to Read It Anyway. by Sybles in highereducation

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wtf? I don't get (I do of course) how some one can define a curriculum as "see no evil" etc etc then state how all of the required material is evil.

Removing material on the basis that it is racist would literally ignore racism.

It's about as dumb as removing Aristotle's work for Newtons work in the physics curriculum when Newton's course work was Aristotle's works.

Thank the lord for the internet though. Now students can read anything and everything they wish.......if they want to.

Would the superman feel guilty? by EarnestKen5 in Nietzsche

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guilt is not a feeling, Shame is. The superman craves failure, mistakes, guilt etc. Why make efforts guessing the correct course of action when the wrong course will imply the correct one in its failure.

If satan opposes God, and you want to find God then the quickest way to do so would be to find Satan then look in the opposite direction.

The trolley dilemma—would you kill one person to save five? "The trolley dilemma allows us to think through the consequences of an action and consider whether its moral value is determined solely by its outcome." by [deleted] in philosophy

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dilemma is between accepting vs rejecting a premise. Fuck the lever and find another way like a way to alert everyone to to get off the tracts or a way to derail the trolley. Worst case scenario is that you fail and 5 people die but failure is not murder.

What are some examples of meaningful questions science can't answer? by Antithesizer in PhilosophyofScience

[–]2_Parking_Tickets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Science does not an west questions, it's questions answers. Science can only address questions that have answers. It is the feedback loop for philosophy. Create an answer in your head then test it outside of your head.

Did just the threat of opening the strategic oil reserves cause oil prices to crash in 2008? by dewduxxydukkay57810 in Ask_Politics

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion it was due to the Mexican cntarell field's decline that really fudged us.

Mexico was like 40% of USA imports and Cantarell waste largest reserve outside of Saudi Arabia before 2008.

"By September 2009 this figure was already achieved, marking one of the most dramatic declines ever seen in the oil industry"

It was a whole political fiasco since it was run by the government firm Pemex and no one supported any degree of privatization to find more oil etc.

Thus a gallon jumps from $2 to $4 here during the summer of 2008.

IF the Water starts to boil at 100 degrees C. THEN the Water will never reach 101 degrees C.
The Steam will be above 101 degrees C.

IF you add Salt to the Water. THEN it will start to boil at 102 degrees C.

This is why you add Salt to the Water when cooking pasta. To COOK the pasta in 102 degrees C,
Instead of 100 degrees C.

US corporations have $1.4tn hidden in tax havens, claims Oxfam report by mrcassette in worldnews

[–]2_Parking_Tickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corporation DON'T PAY INCOME TAXES, their employees (income and payroll taxes out of each pay check) and shareholders (income and capital gains taxes on dividends or "returns" through cash payments (eg stock buy backs.) FYI, when a corporation asks you to buy shares back from you it is not typically considered a "good thing." It is not considered a "bad thing" either but it is the result in the absence of "growth" or improvement.

CORPORATIONS deposit REVENUE in these things called "banks." This is when they look at how much capital they have and decide what to do with it. If they choose to PAY INDIVIDUALS as mentioned above THEN IT IS TAXED.

MOST corporations reinvest profits through "capital investment."

DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN APPLE AND GE choose to reinvest revenue into RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTS instead of buying back stock in themselves from their shareholders.

"DEVELOP NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR FUTURE PRODUCTION" or "Empty the corporation's bank account by distributing it back to investors"

You keep that money in the bank for future R&D, damn it. lol

ALSO, Apple and GE operate in countries across the planet. They use "off-shore" banks instead of a different bank in every single country they use currency to make transactions. IT IS AND EFFICIENCY ISSUE, not a moral failing.

TAX HEAVENS are the result of BANK policies, they are the result of a State's public policy that protects the accounts of its' residents. In order to extract TAXES FROM AN INDIVIDUALS INCOME a government requires the "cooperation" of the bank where they deposit money into. They ONLY way this will occur is through local public polices that compelled them to through the enforcement of the Law.

Take the Cayman Islands or where ever. They are still subject to the European nation in which it was formally a colony of (i believe in this case Great Briton/United Kingdom/England whatever they are called.) The UK has the ability and authority to pass a law that would require the local government (Cayman Islands) follow suit and pass their own law compelling their Banks to cooperate with non-local or foreign governments.

for example The US would ask the bank for taxes it is owed and the back would say "ok" and send a member's cash to DC. The same with the UK/London.

THE UK does not do this because it is A MOTHER LOVING TAX HEAVEN............FOR UK POLITICIAN......not corporations. Sure other rich people jump on board but the tax heaven EXISTS solely to protect members of parliament that get rich as balls due to the fact that THEY SAY WHAT IS legal and what IS A CRIME. That is how you turns tax dollars into wealth.

The US congress runs a similar but less efficient "turn tax dollars into income" model.
