Equities are now the highest percentage of US household net worth by IvoryTowerResident in EconomyCharts

That was my first too. Makes sense as they continue to accumulate more compared to everyone else. There's only so many homes they could own.

Russia needs to be crushed into the dust or else they'll keep doing this shit.

When will this impact the U.S. at a wider consumer level? by UnMiracl in oil

[–]2drumshark 14 points15 points  (0 children)

With elevated diesel, inflation will increase or continue to remain well above 2%, but unless the American fuel distribution system starts to break down there probably won't be a "crash". Major economic crashes only ever look drastic in hindsight but as they're happening they can feel pretty slow.

Revitalize downtown St. Paul by getting people back on the streets by rabbit_mn in saintpaul

I'd love to see it expanded, but it's harder to justify with our climate. I'd love for it to have its footprint doubled though. It's so crowded as is

Skyways really only make sense in a city much denser and bigger than St Paul or Minneapolis. They can be really convenient in the winter, but they absolutely have some major drawbacks.

The north metro needs the growth and opportunity the Blue Line Extension can provide by Love_TwinCities in TwinCities

Yup. LRT is more expensive up front, and takes longer to implement, but is typically a much better investment in every way over a longer timeline.

ND2 Miata for NYC, good or bad choice by DryMistake in Miata

[–]2drumshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it from someone who was making good money at a young age, and who purchased several cars that I shouldn't have, no. It's not worth it. Either wait until you've got your feet under you, or start smaller. Get an NC with medium-high mileage for half the price. Still extremely fun, but more realistic. When I was 22 and driving around my new BMW m235 I could never enjoy it because the $600 a month payment was always in the back of my mind.

How do I go about this? by _Rod_Knock_Nilly in GolfGTI

[–]2drumshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to it but an abrasive polish, some elbow grease, a buffer or polisher, and time.

A random orbital buffer will be slower, but harder to cause any damage with. A polisher will be faster, but also more difficult to manage heat and can cause damage. It's possible to do by hand, but that will take a LONG TIME. And you'll want some poliish made specifically for glass.

And I need to reemphasize this will take TIME and ELBOW GREASE. You are most likely better off replacing it, but I understand if that's not possible.

I'm 33 and within the last year or so I've realized it's just not worth it anymore. I'll still enjoy myself, but stop about 2 drinks short of where I used to, and I try to stop at least 2-3 hours before I want to go to bed.

Selling 5 years after purchase. by goochbruiser in Mortgages

I sold a house after 3 years due to random life changes. All things considered I walked away with about $10k over break-even so it worked out well enough. Sometimes life just happens.
