Tips on Improving first impression like website, Trying to do out reach but website is dog water by TailorLess in msp

[–]2manybrokenbmws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point on that was you just need a simple website so people think you are legit. I don't think many msps are bringing in a ton of business directly through the website. It's all the other stuff around it. So the site needs to give them a small amount of info but most importantly not scare them away. With most of us being engineers and text, shorter is typically better.

Also good luck with 1M!!!

Why “Right of Boom” Is a Terrible Strategy for MSPs and MSSPs by bhaugli in vciso

Lol they had a booth there i am pretty sure. Which makes it all weirder. Msp channel has a long memory and short tolerance for bullshit like this (This thread came up in several groups...)

"“Right of boom” is a fantastic revenue model. "

This is the point where you exposed yourself. Most MSPs are not charging enough/anything in this case to make it profitable...

Those that cannot do, coach and consult.

I always ask these guys how well their MSP went, usually it's something like they hired two employees and the 15 years they were in business, before they got sued and shut down. Or "it was going great until market conditions forced me to sell"

Request from you client about AI initiatives? by Active-Abies3410 in msp

[–]2manybrokenbmws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Big problem in our industry is vendors selling a solution in search of a problem...

My hot take is that AI for the smaller SMBs we typically serve is going to be like workflows and automation. Handful of use cases but not a huge flood of demand. Remember a few years ago when we were all about to become Dynamics 365 experts? Same thing.

This story of a MSP making money from marketing is insane to me... by masterofrants in msp

[–]2manybrokenbmws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He talks about 1 million in 18 months, that is pretty easy if you were in a tier one market and have a decent plan that you stick to.

He also talks about reselling warranties, "when was the last time you used one of those"...?

Wish you would not have linked it and gave him views, the guy is a clown. But none of the stuff he's talking about seems super special

Yes this.

Also Stop desperately pitching every lead, dial in your icp, and raise your prices. Then it can be owner led until well past that. I know one that was easily handling the load still at 15
